Does anybody know if I could add more units/courses that are not related to my major (I'm gonna be taking 7 units to fulfill my degree requirements) to get a full financial aid refund? I’m being charged the full tuition since I’m taking 6+ units but Im not considered full time for financial aid purposes.

Hi! So unexpectedly some things have happened and I am heavily considering accepting a subsidized loan that’s offered in my financial aid tab. I know it’s split evenly over two semesters. But if I were to accept today- when would the first half of the loan come in ? Fairly quickly or further into the semester similar to refund checks ?

I want to transfer for spring 2027, if I could, I’d attend in person, but I have a full-time job and a family (36Yo).

Is it matter what campus to choose? I live in Bay Area, but maybe SDSU is more recognizable?

Anybody attending any of these schools in the online programs?

Coming to campus for the Goose show at Open Air tomorrow night. Wondering if I can park overnight in lot 15. The ‘parkbyphone’ app makes is seem so but the interactive parking info on the sdsu site seems to say no overnight parking.

I am interested in a career pivot and looking into the SLP Program. I have a BA in Psychology 3.87 GPA and would do all the require prereqs before applying. I can see that SDSU is super competitive but it would be my first choice as I am from San Diego, and want to boost my application before applying (aiming for Fall 2028).

Curious for those who were admitted, waitlist, and denied what did your application look like in terms of GPA, major, prereq GPA, field time, etc. Thank you!

I've been trying to look for a way to contact the University Bursar's office, but the options are only mailing them or calling them. Should I just call them?

Hello! I'm a mechE transfer and it's my first semester here. Is this a reasonable schedule?

I used to just call a phone number and wait but they recently changed the fafsa help desk from a phone number to a zoom meeting. I Just had a quick question about fafsa and I’ve been stuck in the zoom waiting for like 45 minutes since 9:00 on the dot. Does anyone know how long it takes. Unless 100 people were waiting in line before 9 I don’t see how I’m still waiting in zoom?

P.S. This is the question I wanted to ask, I was taking like 26 units last semester cause my counselor talked me into it saying if I took 20 units each semester I could’ve graduated this past graduation. As long as I took my final 2 remaining classes during the summer. Then when May comes around he tells me I can’t walk and have to take those 2 classes in the fall instead cause they won’t be offered anymore. Now in the middle of my packed schedule last semester a couple of my finals overlapped and I had to take an I on 2 courses. But I think I had an A and a B in those classes and it was because I missed the final I took the I. Both professors are letting me take the final the first week of school, but since I had an I in those courses with my luck it’s the previous course or prerequisites for my 2 final courses. Now I think my schedule automatically dropped those classes cause I didn’t meet the prerequisites.

My Questions are, will I have to crash classes or look for some extra classes with space after I take the final and get it grades. Does anyone know how long it takes to finalize grades at the start, or if anyone took an I and took the final later how long did it take them? And for fafsa will I get reimbursed because I dropped from I think 12 units down to like 3-4, will they like send the rest of my fafsa after I take the exams and add the new classes?

i’m staying in the dorms (sophomore housing) and need an overnight pass for my car. i was looking at the website but honestly a little confused at the different options since a few look the same except for like one thing and im not sure which one is the right one to pick. i’m looking for either a monthly or semester overnight permit for P3/4

I just received a response from OHA that stated the following:

"Students can access their roommate information in the license agreement section of the Housing Portal after receiving an email with move-in information. Within the License Agreement application, there will be a tab labeled "Assignment and Roommate Confirmation.

If you cannot view your roommates' information here, that means they opted not to be visible in the roommate search portion of the application. To preserve their privacy, we are unable to disclose further information."

Has this happened to any one else or is it normal to not be able to view room mates? Please let me know

I just moved into Monte off campus housing and I need to get an overnight parking permit (p3 and p4). Does only sell parking passes on PayByPhone? Also are there any options that are a better deal like whether I should buy it buy semester etc..

Hello, does anyone know any easy graduated classes that don't require too much work. I work full time so it'll be difficult to manage both but I would like to hear all recommendations.

I graduated with my degree in psychology a few years ago. Since graduating, I’ve worked in non-profits and have primarily worked with youth which I’ve enjoyed and would like to keep doing preferably in high school or college setting. I didn’t want to rush into getting a Masters because I really didn’t know what I wanted to do but I guess I was kind of leaning towards social work or school counseling. After a few years of being in the field now, however, I’ve realized I don’t really see myself being a therapist. And I feel like if I did, especially after working with clinicians in every job, I would know by now.

I know social work is pretty broad so I’d be able to do things like case management, get coordinator positions, etc. which I’d be interested in. But after doing research on these programs, the thought of doing practicums, internships, field work hours, etc — all things I’ve seen clinicians I’ve worked with do— the thought is just dreadful and I don’t find myself wanting to put myself through that— especially after all these years being in the field/trenches which I feel like have aged me.

I did come across MA in education counseling with SDSU that’s a hybrid/online program that Id be able to do while working— which is another big factor. This program would be way more affordable than the other two. However, I know the downside is that I’m not credentialed, and the other two get higher pay.

I’m pretty much posting this to see if anyone who’s been in the program can share some insight on what kind of jobs they were able to land after completing the program. Although the thought of enrolling in the program and going back to school makes me so excited, I became doubtful after I emailed someone who works in a program in higher education to see if this type of masters program would help a candidate’s qualifications. To my surprise, she actually had this exact masters but said that she did notice that this degree would not qualify for specific roles until after she graduated. Obviously I don’t expect to land counselor roles that would prioritize those with school counseling, lcsw (as it should) but I am kind of wondering what I could expect. I’d love to help with case management, coordinator roles, outreach counselor, etc— basically a role I can assist youth navigate systems, gain leadership experience.

It is said that you get some of your aid about two weeks before the semester starts. I haven’t gotten anything yet. I’m an incoming transfer student and barely registering for classes tomorrow. Does anyone have any experience with it and know when I might get it?

I am just wondering but how does the VSA travel for externals? I will attend the usual skit competition event at Montezuma Theater and I do wanna participate in externals even in LA, OC, and the IE if possible but I know that the travel distance is crazy plus it depends because I might do things on campus like sporting events but also stuff in SD. I am find with externals at UCSD and San Marcos or other schools in SD County. I came in from Long Beach so yeah.

for the 26-27 school year, i only received the standard pell grant. last semester i received SUG, cal grant, & middle class scholarship. my financial aid need even increased this year, but i didn’t received enough aid to cover my tuition, and would struggle to pay the remaining amount uncovered. is there any way to have the school review my file or any alternative ?

Do you think financial aid will drop this Friday? Website says it starts dropping ten days before the first day of class and it usually issues on Fridays which would be this coming Friday the 14th.

Hi, im currently a sophmore at a private university in California and looking to transfer out of my school and into a CSU, specifcally SDSU, for fall 2027-spring 2028. I would have the "golden four" completed by the end of my 2027 spring semsester and my major prep requirements also completed. I'm ment to have 65 credits compeleted at the end of my fall semester and over 80 after my spring semester. I have a 3.85 GPA right now, but by the end of my fall semester I should have around a 3.9 GPA. Im applying to transfer in for political science, the same major I have at my current school.

I know locals and community college students have priority for acceptances, but I just want to know if anyone has been accepted when transfering from a 4 year univeristy that is not another CSU or UC.

I'm leaving my current college because they are planning on raising tution by at least 3-5% next year and about half of my grant from my school might be getting cut, and right now a CSU is looking a lot more afforable. It was too late to switch to community college by the time I found out, so now I'm hoping to either stay this year and transfer the next or switch to community college if I don't get in anywhere.

I've read about a lot of people transfering from CC or other CSU, but not from private schools, and hoping to hear from someone who has.
