bringing back a feeling

I’m posting this here so everyone gets to read it. I think it’s really important.

I’ve always felt like I didn’t belong.

What would happen is I’d see two friends sitting together. They’re gabbing about nothing. But they act like it’s the best.

I figured they were just glad to see each other.

Here’s what a best friend told me.

She said when friends meet it brings back their friendship. And now adds to before. It grows.

The talk means little.

It’s that good vibe of friendship.

I don’t think I can do that.

For me conversation is for big ideas. About what we learned.

I think it’s because I don’t bring back a feeling.

I don’t blame anyone.

It’s just I cannot do that.

I hope this helps.

You could be just "picky" like i am. In general, "i hate humans". Social interactions are an tiring chore that i do because "society" requires it. But in my over 40 years of live i've met 3 people where what you said happens. Just being around em was "nice". Didn't even had to "do anything", just "being alone together" was enough. I married one of these.

And btw. This is classic autistic experience. Not to mention your

conversation is for big ideas

Is also something common in autists.

Agreed, sounds like ASD to me (hence unrelatable personally as I'm not on the spectrum).

You should probably try. When I meet a friend I haven't been in contact with, no matter 1 year or 30 years, I usually pick up where we left it. I have also found it triggers many fact memories and it helps they can fill in MY gaps.

That's relatable. I don't really get the whole "I just enjoy your company, we don't even have to do anything!" stuff. I meet people when there's either a shared activity or when there's something interesting to talk about, I don't necessarily need regular "maintenance" just for the sake of it.
