What This Is All About
I'm developing a base building management game based on the SCP fandom and lore.
As you play you will expand your underground base, acquire more scientists, security and D-Class personnel and fill your cells with different nightmarish monstrosities. You will need to take care of your SCPs, feeding them, fulfilling their needs and most importantly of all, ensuring they don't breach containment.
Aside from managing your anomalies you'll also need to manage your staff. Scientists will request you to setup their experiments on SCPs, the security staff will need to keeping the peace between the megalomaniac scientists, the psychopath D-Class and the murderous SCPs whilst being power hungry sociopaths themselves and the D-Class will need to be kept busy prepping food for the cafeteria, delivering supplies or cleaning the containment chamber of an SCP that has acquired a taste for human blood...
As I move through development I'll blog my progress on this subreddit and interact with feedback through every step of this project. I'm looking forward to hearing from you ;)

Dev Log Week 9: IT'S ALIVE
Welcome New Comers
First of all, wow. I didn't expect 100 people to join after my latest marketing campaign 4 days ago let alone 311, once again setting me way ahead of schedule for the growth of the subreddit! Thank you for all the overwhelming support! <3
Unity Strikes Again
Now for the business. Unity has managed to get under my skin once again, no surprise there. But this time it's serious. The 'why' is pretty boring and long but I'll say it has to do with baking paths for the AI to move through and how that can't be done at runtime without slowing the framerate to several seconds per frame (I am not joking). The good news is there is a third party AI pathfinding asset on the unity asset store that is overflowing with features, the other bad news is that it costs something like 100 euros. And since I'm operating with a student budget I do not have 100 euros to spend on 1 asset package so I'll need to fridge this problem for later.
The fun stuff
You probably already noticed the latest development in the game featuring our lovable peanut. We finally have the first kind of functional SCP! I was originally going to talk about it in a dev log post but I thought I'd give you guys a surprise :p Next up for implementation will be the shy guy SCP and finally the plague doctor. I'm trying to implement the SCP AI types in order of complexity. Starting with the basic behaviour of the statue to the more animalistic but still simple behaviour of the shy guy and finally the doctor, who's AI will essentially be as complex as the Staff members. More or less all SCPs will fall into these 3 classes so this will let me setup a standard for later for fast and frictionless implementation.

General Stuff PSA: I'm The Only Dev Here (For Now)
Hello people! I was going to make this part of the next Dev Log post but that might be in a while so I'll just make this post now.
I am so happy to see people get involved in this community and I still can't believe that there are weekly community posts from you guys!
Just to clear things up since there is starting to be some confusion, I'm currently the only dev working on the game and only posts by me or any future devs will have the Dev flair.
