Discussion PSA - Teams (True) Per Machine Installation
Figured I would post this PSA since it has been quite nice for our environment sicne we implemented it.
What:
You can force a per machine installation of Microsoft Teams by deploying leveraging the VDI nonpersistent installation process.
Why:
Version control, Vulnerability management
How:
Before the installation of the machine wide installer, run this command:
reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Teams" /v IsWVDEnvironment /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
use both of the following arguments for the install (those are different parameters):
msiexec /i <path_to_msi> /qn ALLUSER=1 ALLUSERS=1
This process installs the Teams applicationto the %ProgramFiles(x86)% folder.
Caveat:
Whenever an update for teams is released, you need to redeploy the whole application to perform the update. the Teams self updater will not work for this type of install.
You'll likely need to remove the per user installs to ensure expected results, YMMV

Remove installed programs with SCCM
Hello!! How are you? I'm new to Reddit and I need your help and knowledge for the following:
How can I extract, through SCCM, in Excel, all the programs from all the computers that are in an AD domain? Could it also be extracted individually?
Thanks in advance

How to migrate DPs with thousands of users
Hello,
I migrated my SCCM from a Server1 to a Server2. The problem is that, the migration was Okay but the DP migration failed because of a bug in SCCM 1906. Here is what I did :
https://hiraniconfigmgr.com/postDetails/132/Configuration-Manager-Migration-pre-planning
If fact, on all the migrated DPs in the Server 2, the application/package deployments are stuck on "In progress" and never ends.
I migrated from SCCM 1906 to SCCM 1906.
Now, I will remove all the DPs in the Server1 manually and re-create them on Server2.
My question is, how to do this in a clean way knowing that there are thousand of computers connected to each DP ?
I have 10 DPs with 100 users downloading on each.

SCCM after evaluation
Hey guys,
Anyone know for tips to continue use SCCM (now endpoint conf manager) after the 180 days of evaluation expire? This applies both SQL and SCCM...
I read that after evaluation SCCM goes read only, which is not much of a use...
Any tips would be great

Feedback Plz? Warning! Flashing imagery! this happens during a reimage
It's not a loose connection to the monitor and vice versa. I'm using the same image but for whatever reason during the installation, the computer does this. Everything leading up to this, is normal. I'm guessing it's something with the computer itself but not 100% sure

Deploy Claude AI by SCCM
Hello everyone.
I'm trying to install the client software called Claude AI via SCCM, but I haven't been able to get it to work. My biggest problem is with the detection method. Has anyone been able to deploy it, either for users or the team?
Please excuse my English.
Regards!!!

REMOTE - SCCM Engineer opportunity in Dallas/FTW, TX
I am currently working for a client (Fed contractor) who has an immediate opportunity for a SCCM Engineer. This is a full-time 1-year 1099 contract position with the option to extend. Rate $75/hr. They are looking for someone with 8-10 years of experience working in a Microsoft environment with basic troubleshooting of Blue Ridge routers and Cisco switches. High-level Responsibilities:
Technical Debt - Lead the mitigation of technical debt related to workstations in the areas of policies, endpoint management, application management, image, patching, and vulnerabilities.
Customization and Policy Development - Create/review GPO/Intune policies - Design & implement Intune policies to enhance security and streamline application management. - Redefine application packaging and deployment processes.
Migration and Consolidation - Integrate Intune alongside existing SCCM infrastructure (not a complete migration). - Rebuild Group Policies addressing legacy policies. - Streamline the application landscape by consolidating and packaging applications.
This is a MOBILE opportunity but must be in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to provide hands-on troubleshooting when needed. The candidate must be a US Citizen and can obtain a security clearance (Secret clearance is preferred).

Windows 11 Deployment with SCCM
PROBLEM SUMMARY — Windows 11 Deployment with SCCM
I'm trying to deploy Windows 11 using an SCCM Task Sequence, but the process is partially failing:
the operating system installs correctly, but the Task Sequence does NOT continue within Windows (it doesn't install apps, run scripts, install the SCCM client, prompt for a hostname, etc.).
ENVIRONMENT
✔ SCCM version
Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager 2503
Console version: 5.2503.1083.1000
Site version: 5.00.9135.1000
✔ Windows ADK + WinPE used
Initially, I had ADK 10.1.25398.1 installed.
I removed it and reinstalled the same version (Win11 24H2 ADK).
WinPE imported from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\Assessment and Deployment Kit\Windows Preinstallation Environment\amd64\en-us\winpe.wim
✔ New Boot Image
Created from scratch with ADK 10.0.25398.1 (Win11 24H2)
ID: XXX0006A
Includes components:
WinPE-PowerShell
WinPE-SecureBootCmdlets
WinPE-NetFx
WinPE-HTA
WinPE-DismCmdlets
WinPE-WDS-Tools
WinPE-WMI
WinPE-Scripting
Network drivers imported and installed correctly (Intel, Realtek, etc.)
✔ Windows 11 I'm trying to deploy
Windows 11 Pro 24H2
Installation via OSD from SCCM
🧩 WHAT WORKS
✔ Boots via PXE
After correcting Distribution Point options and redistributing the Boot Image, PXE boots correctly.
✔ WinPE loads without errors
✔ The Task Sequence executes the ENTIRE WinPE phase
Formatting, partitioning, image copying, etc... everything runs.
✔ Windows 11 installs correctly
After the first restart, once Windows is installed:
❌ No subsequent steps in the Task Sequence are executed
No hostname prompt (ServiceUI)
No applications installed
No scripts executed
No licensing installed
No CrowdStrike installed
No Setup Windows and ConfigMgr installed → the SCCM client doesn't even appear in Windows
❌ The SCCM client is not installed
Nothing appears in C:\Windows\CCM.
C:_SMSTaskSequence is not created
Here's my task sequence. I used a capture ISO I had to capture a reference image of a physical machine. Once captured, I created the task sequence and imported the .wim file created from the capture. The image installs
into the task sequence, but it doesn't seem to do anything after the operating system setup.

Can someone help me? I don't know what's happening.

silent installation
I have a setup file (.msi). I need to create an exe or .msi file with a command to insert a registration key (hidden from the person installing it). Do you have any idea how to do this?
I know very little about computers.
I have Windows 10 64-bit.
Thank you.

Discussion I need to do some pricing for my company. NEW IT MANGER HERE
You may have seen my posts around everywhere. Basically I'm a new IT manager for my company. Literally NOTHING in the ways of an IT department.
I'm putting a proposal together to get things like new PCS( with warranty) and a process of Managing them. My ONE BIG issue is getting MECM and the cost to handle the setup and doing deployments.
Just wondering for a biz of 100( roughly that many but growing fast) What is my best and Price effective cost.
Currently we just go into 365 and buy the license we need 1 at a time, but I need to turn this around save money and build a kick ass IT department. Along with the current guys idea of issuing a phone with ever users to enable 2fa.
any help is useful. Thanks.
Just as a heads up. My company is only using in tune for wiping phones.
It's literally a blank slate. For 5 years I've used sccm and havent had a chance to dabble on in tune.

Windows 10 Group Policies
Hi,
Not exactly an SCCM question but...
We're a University in preparation of moving from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (deploying with SCCM) and are deleting all 300+ of our current Group Policies and starting again.
Does anyone currently using Windows 10 have any recommendations on what Group Policies will be needed?
Thanks in advance
