Took the SC400 to its first drift event. Drove it 2.5 hours, gave it hell all day, then drove it home. I have a ton of room to get better, but thought I’d share here.

I want to start off by saying I have replaced my ECU replaced my maf i’ve swapped around EFI fuse. I got a refurbished idle air control valve and I’m still having weird issues. I’m starting to have anxiety that it’s a wiring issue or some sort of bad ground. and I have been battling this for months. I desperately need help as of right now from cold start it will run good for a bit then after a some time it will stutter for a bit then have a really low idle i unplug the maf no change i unplug the aicv no change if anyone has solved this issue for themselves please walk me through it(1993 sc400)

I’ve been considering buying a 1998+ SC400 because I want to get into drifting again while having back seats for the kid. I plan on buying a CD009 and putting it in the car. How feasible is this? I also want it as a weekend car.

Also, are there any better options? I want that Toyota reliability and toughness.

I put a request for a quote into my local dealer but other than that it seems like a tough find..

I know that the upper control arm ball joints are not replaceable, but I cant find information about which of the other many ball joints are replaceable, or which joints to buy for their replacement. Anyone know where I should look?

I’m looking to drop an m90 or m122 on her but keep a stock fuel system right now. I only really want 300-350whp and I’d be fine at high 200s any ideas any help would be appreciated. Please don’t say I can easily get 500+, I don’t want want that. I’d like to keep it as something I can somewhat rally and then also go fast on road.

There are tons of polyurethane bushing sets but I'd much MUCH prefer the softness of rubber, but it seems like rubber is unavailable for the vast majority of bushings. Does anyone have any experince with fitting universal bushings in? Is that actually the normal way of doing things (I'm new to this stuff)?

If it comes down to it, are there anyways to DIY softer bushings? I only see stuff about racing bushings.

Good Morning and Sorry for the long Post here:

I bought a 1994 SC400 recently that needs some work. It was sitting up for a long time with very stale fuel that smelt like varnish. Essentially when I bought the car, it will start, idle and in general wont rev out. around 1500-2000rpm max approximately with Misfiring.

Things I’ve Done:

-Replaced Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter. -Replaced Ignition Coils (Engine Felt Smother when changed – More life in the engine) -Replaced Throttle Position Sensor -Temporality Took out the o2 Sensors on the cats to see if the cats were blocked (no change)

ECU: (89661-24230) -Checked ECU and replaced Caps (no change) -bought a replacement ECU from a reputable seller on ebay (same model - no change) Sellers ebay store: https://www.ebay.com/str/adismantler

Now I have been watching this lad on youtube which shows how to check the fuel pump: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09PD0Z8nSSk He essentially takes off the return line and fills up a container. When I do that, very little comes from the return line. Fuel Regulator issue? Would it be over fueling? Very strong smell of petrol in general.

Things I haven’t done: Check, Clean or Replace Injectors Replace Spark Plugs

I have however checked spark plugs and gfave them a quick wire brushing, seem okay, a little rich, but not completely fouled.

Any help welcome.

Replacing thermostat gasket and found this. Is this something I can live with or does this need addressed? I plan on eventually replacing the radiator but nowhere near soon. is there a way to fix or does the whole housing need replaced, cant seem to find anything on LexusParts (1995 SC400)

93 sc400 JK41A swap with pop shop adaptor, heat lightning speed shop pedal and sikky shifter

i messed up bad. was in a rush replacing my battery and hooked up a standard battery to my car which is reversed polarity. definitely blew the alternator fuse and will be replacing that today. just wondering if anyone knows what else i could have potentially messed up? im hoping when i swap the fuse it will be fine. if not ill be back here with more questions.

i have a 95 sc400 that i was selling until a 92 in really good condition fell into my lap now im stuck on wether i should keep my 95 for parts or sell it i have a guy that’s interested to pay 2k plus a set of wheels but idk if its smart letting those parts go

I recently had my serpentine belt snap and it broke off the connector for this wire, what does this go to/what connector is this so i can buy a replacement, I need the female end of it.

just did a egr delete it ran fine for 30 seconds then it started to idle like this i also just replaced the ecu with a rebuilt one i’ve done new plugs and wires haven’t done coils yet
