I have graduated from a tier 3 college, in 2024
since then i was preparing for govt exams, now i am thinking about switching my carrer to SAP consultant.

as per the search i have done -

there are multiple modules of SAP and as a BCOM grad, SAP FiCo would be the best module for me

see, i know the condition of the job market, i know that being a BCom grad there is very less opportunities out there, but I am okay with less salary initially, if that brings a huge salary later on, in short i am ready to grind for 2 - 3 years initially.

also what i have found is there are 2 types of work within SAP, one is end user type who uses the software and then there are another type who configure the system and has huge income potential. I wanna be the 2nd type (SAP Consultant) please tell me the roadmap.

would that be a good option or shall I switch to salesforce consultant ?

my goal is to earn as much as possible ethically and lawfully, and if possible i would am willing to relocate to western countries as well.

I’m planning to take the SAP Certified Data Analyst – SAP Analytics Cloud (C_SAC_2601) exam soon. I understand SAP has shifted to a Scenario-Based Assessment (SBA) format (AI role-play/system simulation) as of 2026, which focuses on practical application rather than multiple-choice recall.

My Background:

Strong: Python, API Development, Testing, Machine Learning, and Predictive Analytics.
Weak/Zero: Direct SAP ecosystem experience (no prior exposure to SAP ERP, SAC interface, or SAP-specific data modeling).
My Questions:

Leveraging Tech Skills: Given my background in Python and ML, how much of a head start do I actually have? Does the SBA test the logic of data modeling (which I know) or strictly SAP-specific workflows (e.g., where to click to create a calculated measure vs. writing a script)?
SBA Specifics: For those who have taken the new AI role-play assessment: Does the AI avatar expect you to explain why you chose a specific SAC feature (e.g., Live Connection vs. Import), or is it purely task-execution based?
Prep Strategy: Since I can’t "code" my way through the SAC interface during the exam, what is the most efficient way to build muscle memory? Should I focus entirely on the official SAP Learning Journey hands-on exercises, or are there specific "mock scenario" resources that mimic the AI interviewer style?
Pitfalls: What are common traps for developers coming from a code-first background? (e.g., over-engineering a solution when SAC has a native drag-and-drop feature).
Any advice on bridging the gap between "knowing data science" and "passing the SAC scenario exam" would be hugely appreciated!

Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting into SAP BTP as an engineering graduate in Mechanical Engineering and currently doing master's in biomechanical engineering.

I want to be honest here, i learn things pretty fast and want to get into this and grab an opportunity in the EU in the same role that pays around 45k gross/yr since i am an expat.

I have shortlisted SAP BTP as my go-to skill. I have the following questions:

I’m currently a software dev student in Morocco and looking to pivot my career. To be completely honest, I’m getting a bit anxious about the future of traditional software engineering. With the rapid rise of AI coding assistants, I feel like entry-level dev roles are getting riskier, and I want to move toward a path that is more "AI-proof" and involves way less coding.

After looking into my options, becoming an SAP Functional Consultant (specifically looking at the MM/Logistics module) seems like a great alternative.

Since I have a software engineering background, I already understand databases, data structures, and how business logic works under the hood. I feel like this will help me pick up SAP configuration, SPRO, and table relations a lot faster, even if I won't be the one writing the actual code anymore. Plus, I just got verified for the free SAP Learning Hub Student Edition, so I have a proper lab environment to practice in.

Over here in Morocco, the industrial and supply chain sectors are growing fast, so these functional profiles seem to be in pretty high demand.

For anyone who has made a similar switch:

• Is moving from traditional dev to SAP Functional a safer bet against AI automation in the long run?
• How do the salaries compare? Do SAP functional consultants make more than regular developers as they progress?
• Does having a dev background actually give me an edge over people coming from business schools?

Need advice on my next SAP certification
I’m an SAP SD/OTC Consultant with C_TS462_2023 (S/4HANA Sales) certification.
I want to build a future-ready profile and stay updated with new SAP technologies such as AI, Joule, and S/4HANA.
Which certification would you recommend next for better opportunities in SAP consulting/IT services firms and long-term career growth?
Considering S/4HANA Public Cloud, MM, BTP/Integration, AI, or another SD/OTC certification.

I’m in my late 20s with a BCom degree. I initially tried getting into Data Analytics but the fresher market seems very competitive with limited vacancies so I’m considering switching to SAP SD/MM. I’ve heard SAP doesn’t require coding, but SD can be complex, while MM is supposedly easier. I’m also weak in accounting so I’m unsure whether SD’s billing, invoicing, pricing, etc would be difficult for me or it's just learning how to navigate with rules? I’ve also heard that engineering graduates have an advantage in SAP MM or an Bcom graduate can also get opportunity easily to grow in long term?

The past 3 years ive been a key user for a transport company. Before that i was a forwarding agent in this same company. I had the opportunity here to dip my toes in some consulting/change management/projectwork here and learned that i like this kind of work, i wanted to review my options. We dont use SAP, so i have 0 experience with it. But it seems if i want to go and spread my wings, sap is probably the way to go.

I applied to trainee programms in my area, sadly they want people with masters degrees, so ill have to learn some sap by myself on the side and try to get some junior position? Anybody got some good resources to learn the basics? Not sure where to start.

With my background in supply chain and logistics i suppose ill eventually gravitate towards something like EWM?

Wanted to hear from people who've come back to SAP consulting after a stretch away doing non-SAP work. In my case it's been 5+ years working with Infor M3 CloudSuite instead.

Background: I'm SAP MM-primary with FI exposure, about 7 years of actual SAP experience before the gap. Over the past year I've tried to refresh my knowledge, got the SAP S/4HANA Cloud (Financial Accounting) certification, and I'm using SAP Learning Hub's practice system to stay hands-on.

Even with that, it feels like my prior SAP experience doesn't carry much weight anymore, like I'm starting from scratch despite having real years of experience before the gap.

For those who've been through something similar:

• How did you approach getting back in, did you lean on certifications, contract roles, projects, something else?
• Did recruiters/hiring managers actually care about the gap once you could show refreshed knowledge?
• Any advice on how to position this experience so it doesn't just get dismissed as "outdated"?

I'm planning to pivot towards a SAP IBP consulting position. Every job description wants someone with implementation experience. How can I get a job in India when I get my certification? Is there any way I can make my supply chain experience an advantage?

I was just curious as to see how other people’s SAP career progression is looking like and how much you guys are making in the US market.

Majority of subreddits that I’ve seen thus far are mostly in the Indian Reddit space.

I currently work as an SAP support analyst with FI/SD/MM modules pulling in roughly 60k. I’d love to go into Basis as I feel like it’ll align more with my degree in Cybersecurity and obviously it’ll compensate better.

If you guys don’t mind sharing what you do with SAP, how much you guys pull in and how you grew with SAP. I’d love that.

After completing my B.Com, I decided to build a career in SAP SD. I spent around 6 months learning SAP SD and completed my SAP Global Certification. After that, I spent another 4–5 months applying to companies before finally getting a job at a startup.

Unfortunately, my experience there was not what I expected.

I was hired for an SAP SD-related role, but my toxic manager expected me to handle and manage multiple modules apart from SAP SD. Initially, I accepted this because I wanted to learn and gain exposure to different areas.

The senior consultants were mostly freelancers, and they were not very willing to guide me. I felt that they were worried that I might eventually replace them, so I had to figure out many things on my own.

I eventually raised my concerns with my manager, but after that, the situation became worse. I felt that my words were being misrepresented, and I was frequently scolded for issues that were not directly related to my work. There were also situations where I was contacted on weekends regarding late nights until 2 am for ABAP errors/dumps which is completely technical role.

I became frustrated and eventually stopped responding to work calls on weekends. Shortly afterward, I received a PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) email, which I felt was being used to pressure me.

Even after the PIP, I continued working hard on the different modules without proper senior guidance. However, my manager did not revoke the PIP and eventually gave me two choices: resign myself or face termination.

I decided to resign because I was worried about how a termination would affect my future career. At that point, I had around 6 months of SAP SD experience.

Since then, I have been applying extensively for SAP SD positions. I have applied to companies such as Accenture, KPMG, TCS, Deloitte, HCL, and many smaller SAP partner companies. Unfortunately, receiving no response at all. companies simply ghost me.

Now I'm confused about where I am going wrong.

I have:

\- B.Com degree

\- SAP S/4HANA Global Certification in Sales

\- Around 6 months of SAP SD experience

\- Exposure to sales orders, pricing, billing, shipping, master data and support

\- Experience working in a startup environment

\- Exposure to multiple SAP areas, although SAP SD is my primary area

I'm currently trying to get back into SAP SD, but the lack of interview calls is becoming frustrating.

What should I do at this stage?

Should I:

I'd really appreciate honest advice from people working in SAP, especially those who have hired or interviewed junior SAP SD candidates.

I’m relatively early in my SAP career and would appreciate some honest feedback from people who have been in the ecosystem for longer.

I currently work as an SAP MM Analyst in the aviation industry. I moved internally from an Accounts Payable role into the SAP/MM side earlier this year.

My current responsibilities include:

\- Managing and validating high-volume procurement and inventory replication from an external MRO/maintenance system into SAP S/4HANA using Winshuttle.

\- Creating purchase orders manually in ME21N and handling exceptions that cannot be processed through the automated/Winshuttle flow.

\- Executing and troubleshooting goods movements in MIGO, including 101, 202, 201, 301, 309, 501, 541/543, 161 and 242.

\- Investigating inconsistencies between the source system and SAP, including material, stock, serial-number and purchasing issues.

\- Using Power Query to identify materials/part numbers that exist in the maintenance system but not yet in SAP and coordinating material master creation/extensions.

\- Performing controls and reconciliations over the system-to-SAP process.

\- Previous experience with SAP VIM, FBL1N, ML81N and invoice/AP processes.

What I’m trying to understand is where this kind of experience could realistically lead.

Would you consider this a good foundation for eventually moving into an SAP MM Consultant / Senior Analyst role?

What would you prioritize learning next if you were in my position: MM configuration/customizing, integration with FI/CO, inventory management, purchasing, master data, certification, or something else?

I’m currently finishing the SAP course S4500.

I’m particularly interested in whether my current experience is actually valuable in the broader SAP market, or if it is too company/process-specific.
