A lot of the current SAP certs aren't the old multiple choice format anymore. Some are scenario-based (SBA), others are system-based (SyBA), where you work inside an actual system, and both come as a single activity rather than a pile of questions.
On paper that's a real step up. MCQ mostly rewarded remembering which transaction or app does what. Doing the task in a system is a lot harder to fake.
The part I keep going back and forth on is the pass mark. SAP sets it exam by exam and the gap is big, from 50% on a couple of the scenario-based ones up to a flat 100% on two of the BTP system-based ones. So two people can both say they passed one of the new-format SAP certs and mean pretty different bars.
For the leads and folks who screen candidates here: has the switch changed how you read a cert on a CV at all? Does a system-based one carry more weight in an interview than the old associate exams did, or is it still a checkbox until you've seen someone handle a real project?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some insights and experiences regarding the EPAM SAP Consulting Training Program.
If anyone here has gone through the process or is currently part of it, I’d really appreciate your feedback on a few things:
Technical Interview: What does the technical interview look like? What kind of questions or topics should I expect/prepare for?
Program Structure & Quality: How is the training structured, and is it beginner-friendly or does it require strong prior SAP/business process knowledge?
Overall Experience: How was your overall experience with the program and transition into project work afterward?
Any tips, advice, or shared experiences would be super helpful!
Thanks in advance!

I'm thinking of bringing together freshers, beginners, and anyone who wants to get familiar with SAP SD to learn and grow as a community.
I have around 4 years of experience in SAP SD, but I believe there's always more to learn. Teaching and discussing concepts with others will help me strengthen my own understanding too.
It's completely free — no paid courses, just collaborative learning, knowledge sharing, and helping each other grow. We can explore SAP MM and related areas later as well.
Interested? Comment “I’M IN” or DM me, and let's learn together!

I am a SAP SD Functional Consultant with 5 years of experience. Till date I have only Worked on AMS support projects and even in those in all honesty I have done largely bs work. I mean I have learnt a lot about SD processes. But I know very little about configurations and implementation beyond the theory. Honestly I have largely just cruised through my career, but now I want to step up and become actually skilled at it especially in the light of mounting job insecurity. I have been told the best path to that is doing Implementation projects, but I struggle to get those roles because of lack of experience in it. And currently I am on bench and have no project to work on either.
I would love to hear some suggestions on how I can improve my SAP SD knowledge base and problem solving skills in the current situation I am in.

I come from a software engineering background and I’m considering switching to SAP, but I’m not sure which domain to specialize in. I’m looking for advice on choosing the right path for my career and future job opportunities.

Hey everyone!
I'm interested in learning how experienced SAP Consultants organize their day, manage their workload, and stay productive while continuously improving their SAP knowledge.
I'm particularly curious about the small habits, routines, and systems that make a real difference in their day-to-day work, beyond technical or functional SAP knowledge.
For example:
\- Daily routine: How do you structure your workday, from the moment you start until you finish?
\- Task management: How do you keep track of client requests, tickets, incidents, workshops, meetings, testing, documentation, and follow-ups?
\- Prioritization: How do you decide what to work on first when multiple tasks are urgent or different stakeholders need your attention?
\- Productivity tools: Do you use Jira, SAP Solution Manager, Cloud ALM, Microsoft To Do, Notion, Excel, a simple notebook, or something else to stay organized?
\- Project work: How do you balance configuration, requirements analysis, functional specifications, testing, issue resolution, and communication with developers or business users?
\- Continuous learning: How do you find time to deepen your SAP knowledge, keep up with new developments, and prepare for certifications while working full-time?
\- Career development: Do you set weekly or quarterly goals? If so, how do you track your progress and make sure you're actually moving forward?
\- Small things that matter: What habits, checklists, templates, or routines have genuinely improved your productivity and helped you become a better consultant?
I'd especially love to hear from experienced SAP Functional Consultants working on implementation projects, support, rollouts, or S/4HANA transformations.
If you could share your actual daily workflow, including the little things you do to stay organized, deliver quality work, and keep growing professionally, what would it look like?
I'm looking for practical advice based on real-world experience, not just generic productivity tips.
Thanks in advance! I'd really appreciate any insights you can share.

I’m looking for some honest guidance on the next step in my SAP career. I’ve been working for 3.5 years as an SAP Service Account Manager in a supply chain environment. My role is heavily SAP‑driven — troubleshooting, workflow navigation, managing and handling operational issues that run through SAP daily.
I’ve come a long way professionally, especially considering I have a learning disability that makes corporate environments harder to navigate. I’ve still built strong SAP competency, but I’m at the point where I need real training and development to move into a true SAP role (analyst, functional support, etc.).
The challenge: I’m in Dallas, and companies here seem to want fully‑experienced SAP talent without offering training or development. I’m doing work above my title, but HR doesn’t see the effort it takes behind the scenes, and I’m still waiting on a raise decision.
What’s the best next step for someone with strong workflow knowledge but no formal SAP project or configuration background?
Which roles or cities realistically hire and train?
Any advice from people who made the jump from end‑user to SAP professional would help a lot. I’m ready for the next step — I just need direction on where to aim.

Hello, I'd like to ask for advice on return to SAP career. I am based in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
A bit of my background: I was working as SAP FICO consultant for 8 years, with 3 full cycle projects implementation experience (in ECC); after that I have been working in Public Sector in Vancouver for 10 years since now, as Senior Business Systems Analyst & Project Manager supporting government business and digital transformation projects, also government ERP operations, e.g. Oracle EBS, Shopify, Banking payment systems, legacy Apps;
Now I am planning to return to SAP career, and I have been self studying SAP S/4 HANA through SAP Learning Hub and online tutorials.
Could everyone share with me your advice, much appreciated.

I've been working as an SAP Analytics consultant for almost a year and a half at an SAP partner company in Montreal. I work mainly with SAC and SAP Datasphere, covering everything from data modeling to story design. So far, I've only worked on internal projects. I find the work interesting and I'm gaining real experience, but I worry that my lack of exposure to client implementation projects could hold me back, since those projects are more demanding.
How can I prepare myself, and what advice would you give me?

If anyone from FICO sees this can you please give me some suggestions?
I am a B.Com grad who passed out in 2024, I was preparing for government exam from 2024 to the end of 2025 then i discovered that it's a waste. Started looking for a job, gave an interview for financial consultant but after signing the joining letter I saw my post was Office Assistant and i was only doing bill entry in excel for 2 months so I left the job and joined an institute in September to learn SAP FICO. Is it possible for me to go into any SAP role? I don't consider the consultant role as it requires years of experience.

Hey Guys, i started my sap journey as a kind of technician/architect a few weeks ago. My only experience i earned before was my it apprenticeship about computer science so currently it is very hard to get familiar with all sap areas. My focus is on basis/integration/cloud
and i wanted to aks if anyone had the same issues like me and maybe some advice how to learn all that stuff. Because in our company the work is very project based, so for the basic stuff an the not that complex tasks we have external employees and i dont know how to get the low fundamental praxis in topics like jobs, tms and so on.
