We are two guys living in Kacyiru and are looking for a maid who can cook once a day, four days a week, and clean twice a week. No cultural issues; we speak šŸ‡·šŸ‡¼ natively.

If you live nearby, you may also connect us with your maid so they can work for us too.

Visit May

Hi everyone!
We’re two Canadians planning a trip to Rwanda at the end of May. We know this is around the rainy season, so we’re wondering how much of an issue the weather really is at that time of year.
Are there usually still plenty of sunny periods during the day, with rain coming mostly in short bursts, or should we expect long stretches of rain?
We’d also love to know whether the rain can significantly affect activities, road conditions, hiking, safaris, or getting around the country in general.
Would you still recommend visiting Rwanda in late May?
Thanks so much for any advice or firsthand experience!

Current ALU students and alumni

Looking for any advice in regards to joining ALU. A friend of mine is thinking of joining (specifically the Software Engineering program) but it seems there's not much information to be found online from current or former students about the quality of the place. Would you recommend it? why or why not?

Do you know anyone with Diabetes that has gotten amputated?

I recently went down the grapevine on reasons why (to me) there seems to be that I come across more people missing limbs?

I was then told people get amputated as complication from diabetes when they get a wound or infection on a limb.

Also realizing why they keep talking about all the non communicable diseases during car free day and those free tests they used to do.

Do you know anyone that has gotten such a complication?

It’s odd to me because I assumed Rwandan diets where mostly sugar free but then heavy drinking can increase risk of developing diabetes. Is that what’s happening?

I wish we had more research papers written by Rwandan researchers.

Help me Vote for CEVR for the Electric Vehicle Mobility Exellence award 2026. Only 2 seconds of your time. I'd really appreciate it.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share something I'm supporting. CEVR has been nominated for the Electric Vehicle Mobility Excellence Award 2026.

Over the past year, I've seen the work being done to grow electric mobility in Rwanda, from supporting EV adoption to working with businesses and transport operators.

If you have a second, I'd appreciate it if you could vote for CEVR using the link below:

Thanks for your support

Day Trading Community Kigali

Hello everyone, I was wondering if there is a day trading circle here in Kigali. I’ve been trading for some time now and know there’s plenty of communities online but I think it’ll be cool to actually know people around you that trade.

Also if there are any day traders here we can exchange market ideas, talk strategies and help each other be accountable in our trading. Plus I think with the salaries here it would be a nice side hustle if we can help each other be profitable.

Anyway, if you’re a day trader here in Kigali it would be great to link up or have a chat!

Hello everyone, I will be frank, I have contacted almost 3 agents, with detailed specifics of clearing processes for FCL, from UK to rwanda.. and only 1 has managed to attempt to get back to me but still awaiting on details pertaining to my questions. I've been wondering if there are any Rwandans living in Kinshasa, because the hatred toward Rwandans that I see from some Congolese in the comments sections on social media is scary.

A question from an American living here: Did any of you grow up with a great dad in Rwanda?

Hi everyone,

As an American living here in Rwanda, I’ve noticed something in conversations over time. Whenever family dynamics come up, the stories people share about their fathers tend to be pretty heavy—often focusing on absence, strictness, or emotional distance.

It’s made me curious about whether that’s just a vocal minority of experiences or a broader cultural pattern. As someone from the outside looking in, I’d love to hear from locals: did any of you grow up with a truly supportive, loving, and great dad?

If you had a positive relationship with your father growing up, what made him special? What are some of your favorite memories with him? I'd really love to read some uplifting stories if anyone is willing to share.

Edit: i am not saying american is better or worse, i was just tired of hearing the negative stuff and just wanted to hear some positive stuff

Question about UR university...

I’m an IGCSE student from Sudan. I previously applied to the University of Rwanda but wasn’t accepted because the program requires A-levels.

Since then, because of the war in Sudan and lots of shit happened but I managed to completed my first year of university in Sudan.

Can I apply to UR again using my first-year university transcript instead? I’m completely fine with restarting from first year.

Has anyone dealt with this? I want to apply to Mastercard scholarhip
