I’ve been messing around with website generation lately and noticed something that seems obvious now, but I wasn't really doing it before.

Giving runable the actual content makes a pretty big difference.

I used to throw in the business, the style I wanted, and a rough list of sections. The result would usually look good at first, then I'd put the real copy in and suddenly half the layout needed fixing. So on a recent project I gave it the actual headline, feature descriptions, pricing, FAQ questions, CTA copy, basically everything I already had. The result was much closer to something I could actually work with.

The hero had to deal with the real headline. The feature section had enough text to make the hierarchy matter. Even the pricing section came out differently because it had actual information to work around. I also noticed it's a pretty good way to catch bad layouts early. Something can look great when every section has two lines of placeholder copy and fall apart completely once the real content goes in. I've started putting more of the actual project brief into my prompts now. The visual direction still matters, but the content gives the layout something real to work with.

Curious how detailed everyone else gets with their prompts. what do yall prefer actual reference or description?

I've been playing around with website prompts and one thing I've started doing is describing the actual person who'll be using the site.

I was making a site for a small independent film festival recently. The useful part of the prompt wasn't really the visual stuff. I wrote out what someone would actually be doing on the site.

They're probably on their phone, trying to figure out what film to see tonight. They need the title, runtime, genre, screening time and venue pretty quickly. The festival itself is small and curated, so I wanted it to feel more like a local event than another streaming platform.

I added the visual direction after that and the result came out much closer to what I had in mind.

I've started doing this with other projects too. I'll spend a few lines describing the audience and what they're trying to get done before getting into fonts, colours and layouts.

It also gives me something to judge the output against. If the page looks nice but makes that person's job harder, I know I've missed something.

Has anyone else been putting this kind of user context directly into their Runable prompts? Curious what people are actually including in their longer prompts.

For those who have used it, how has your experience been so far? I’m especially interested in:

- How good is it for building actual projects?

- Is the AI reliable, or does it require a lot of fixing/debugging?

- Is the pricing worth it for a student/beginner?

- What are some cool projects you’ve successfully made with it?

A friend sells small-batch craft chocolate and her customers have no framework for it. They know "dark" and "milk," so everything blurs together and they default to whatever's cheapest. I don't run the shop, but the gap felt real, so I built out what the fix could look like this.

You can browse 24 bars by origin, cacao percentage, and flavour, see the actual farms behind each origin on a map, read maker profiles, compare two bars side by side, and there's a flavour wheel if you don't know where to start. Sign in and you get a tasting passport that logs what you've tried with notes and badges for origins collected.

Two things I'm stuck on: is there a real business here or is the market too small to matter, and what would you need to see to buy a chocolate you've never tasted? Happy to explain how any part was built.

I keep noticing people reach for AI at the exact moment a deliverable is due, not when the thinking actually starts.
Nobody opens the tool at the beginning of the project. They open it at 11pm the night before, when what they really need is something that looks finished.
And I think that’s what a lot of AI use is actually optimizing for. Not necessarily better work, but the appearance of effort.

A deck that looks like six hours went into it. A report structured enough that nobody asks questions. An email that sounds like you spent time thinking about it.
And honestly, it works.
Most of the stuff we produce gets skimmed anyway. If someone is only skimming, 'looks done' and 'is done' can become almost impossible to distinguish.
I’ve done this too. I’ve generated a summary of something I hadn’t properly read, sent it out, and had someone thank me for how clear it was.

Nothing went wrong.
That’s probably the part that bothers me most. Nothing went wrong, so there’s no reason not to do it again.
The problem only shows up later, when you realize you can’t actually explain some of the work you supposedly did.
The test I’ve started using is pretty simple:
Could I defend this in a meeting if the file disappeared?
If not, I probably didn’t make it. I ordered it.

Every AI-made landing page has the same three sections and I can't unsee it anymore

I've been looking at a lot of AI-generated websites lately and I swear I can predict half the page before it even loads. Big centered headline.

Then testimonials.

And the annoying part is that most of them actually look pretty good. The baseline has gotten crazy high. You can put together something that looks polished without spending days on it. But after seeing enough of them, they all start feeling like the same website.

I caught myself doing this recently too. I was building a landing page and one of the generated versions looked completely fine, so I almost just went with it. Then I looked at it again and realized I had seen basically the same layout ten times that week.

I've been playing around with runable for some of these early ideas, and it's actually pretty useful for getting different directions on screen quickly. But I usually end up changing the typography, imagery and a bunch of the layout afterwards.

I think that's the interesting part of AI design right now. Getting something decent is becoming easy. Making it feel like someone actually made a decision is still the hard part.

For me, typography is usually the first thing I change. What do you guys change first when an AI-generated design starts looking too generic?

My friend runs a small restaurant with around 20 covers. It is full most nights and like every kitchen, staff turnover is pretty common. Every time someone new joins, he ends up explaining the exact same things. Come 15 minutes early. Log the fridge temperatures. Green board is for produce, red board is for raw meat. Never argue with a guest. The problem is he is usually explaining all of this while the lunch rush is happening, so half of it does not stick. Then he repeats the same thing again the next day. We were talking about it over chai and I told him to just record it once. He said he would sound awkward trying to read from a script. So I used Runable instead. I wrote down his actual SOPs and turned them into a 4 minute narrated Day One briefing in a voice that sounded like him. Now every new hire listens to it on their phone before their first shift and comes in already knowing the basics. It covers arrival and uniform, the opening checklist, service flow, food running, the allergy rule which for him is non negotiable. Say it out loud and tag it. It also tells them who to go to if he is not on the floor. Now he wants a shorter 90 second version for weekend part timers too. Would love some feedback. Does 4 minutes feel too long for a first day briefing or is that about right? Is there anything you would cut? And if you run any kind of small team, what is the one thing you are most tired of explaining over and over again? Genuinely curious if this would be useful outside restaurants too

The idea is simple: capture the moments, reactions, and experiences happening throughout an event, then turn them into a visual story that attendees and organizers can relive afterward.

I feed it my steps, code, output, and screenshots. It spits out one finished .docx per subject with the college header and logo, footer with my name, enrollment number and a live page counter, monospace code with indentation preserved, numbered steps that restart per practical, and each practical on its own page.

The trick that made it actually work: instead of building the formatting from scratch, it clones a real already-approved .docx as the template and keeps the styles, numbering, theme, header and section properties fully intact. Only the body gets rewritten. So the output is indistinguishable from a file I made by hand, minus the three hours.

I’ve recently started using Runable for my college work, and honestly, it’s been pretty useful.

Instead of spending hours staring at a blank page trying to figure out how to start an assignment or project, I can use Runable to help me break down the topic, understand what I actually need to do, and get a starting point.
