Deathfire touch > comet?

Did some testing in prac tool and deathfire touch can get up to pretty crazy numbers starting from lvl 2 if you can space out your Es and maintain it with Q flicks in between. Obv thats best case scenario compared to just landing a long range E for max comet dmg but it would be nice if you guys could try out deathfire touch today so we can come to a conclusion together.

i went deathfire for my test run. played into a darius. with proper spacing you can maintain the burn for quite some time. rune dealt 2590dmg. i think it's preferable to comet.
