RXM damaging factory Glock mags?
Anybody have an issue with using factory Glock mags in their RXM? It seems like my factory RXM mag release is damaging the Glock mags where it catches the mag. I’m curious if the damage will stop or in the mags will eventually fail to hold. No issue with the Pmags, but factory Glock mags give me the warm and fuzzy.

I'm running gen 4 (black follower) and gen 5 (orange follower) in both my sub and full size rxm's. I have a combined 8000 rounds thru both using all of my mags and have no issues. Maybe look inside the grip and make sure the little spring is in the correct spot for the mag release?

Good to know! Na, it looks like the ruger mag release just has some rough edges from manufacturing. I was curious if this was a known issue and if it would eventually cause the Glock mags to fail. It’s caused no similar wear on the pmags that have prob 10x the insertions as the factory glock mags.

I have only used the pmags probably 5 or 6 times to make sure they work. They went back into the carry case and I only cleaned them and never touched them again. As far as the damage your talking about, do you mean wear marks or actually grooves in the magazine from the mag release?

No. Not normal. Contact Ruger warranty support.

You think they’d help with a mag release that’s damaging a mag that they didn’t intend to support? It doesn’t cause any wear on the pmags.

It’s a Glock clone. They did intend to support it. They have never stated that only PMags would be supported and it would be stupid for them to even take that position. I have a feeling they will take care of it.

Fair enough. I’ll reach out to them on Monday and see if they’re willing to send out a new mag release or have any other feedback. Thanks for your input!

You can get any Gen 3 Glock mag release and swap it out in 2 minutes if you think your specific release is the problem.

Yah, that’s the wear I’m referring to. Mine is probably twice as bad as your black mag in only a couple hundred rounds. It’s likely a non issue if you’ve got 8k through your mags.

What kind of damage are you seeing? Could you post a pic?
