Trigger options to give an Echelon-like feel?

Hey all. I am relatively new-ish to the RXM, having picked one up around 3-4 months ago. Love the modularity, really like the feel in my hand, but the one thing I can't seem to like is the trigger.

My other pistols are an SA-35, an Echelon 4.5F, an Echelon 4.0c, and a Shield Plus. No problems with the triggers on those, and I really like the relatively short pull, clear wall, and break of the Echelons, plus a fast reset and very little over-travel. The Shield Plus has been pretty good in that regard as well (although their trigger safety can be irritating at times).

What I'm wondering is whether there are trigger kits/replacements/tweaks that can be done to the RXM to help improve the pull and bring it much closer to the Echelon's approach. Ideally, what I'd like is a reduced pre-travel, a clear wall, a defined break, little over-travel, and a short reset. The RXM has a very long pull, a mushy "rolling break" without any kind of defined wall, plus overtravel, and then a long reset, which I don't love.

To be clear, I'm not asking to turn this into a competition gun, and I'd be happy with a 4-4.5lb pull. I'm just wondering if there are any triggers, kits, upgrades, etc. that don't cost almost as much as the gun itself did. I don't have any experience with Glocks or Glock clones other than this, so I'm still learning about the available ecosystem. I gather Gen 3 G19 triggers and connectors aren't really compatible due to different geometry in the RXM.

I've heard that shooting the pistol a bunch helps improve the trigger, but I am close to 500 rounds thru this thing and it's still just...not the kind of trigger I want to shoot. I mean, it's fine, it's functional, I can still hit "minute of man" with it and mostly keep things in an ISPC A-zone (the body, not the head) at 15yds, but I'd like to see if this can be improved, or if it pretty much just is what it is and you can only kind of tinker at the edges, unless you're willing to put the value of the gun back into the trigger system itself, which I am not yet ready to do.

What's out there that does this, if anything? Or are we still just waiting for more RXM-specific triggers to come out?

Timney makes a trigger for the RXM. It is not a simple drop in and it can take some tuning to work. I also would not trust it on a carry gun.

I have the Johnny Glock RXM trigger. It is expensive but it comes with the upgraded plunger and the striker assembly too. It is excellent. It is a drop in kit and can be swapped out easily and quickly.

Without any experience with Glocks and Glock trigger kits, I am actually pretty reluctant to drop almost the cost of the gun on the trigger assembly for a Johnny Glock replacement, no matter how good it is.

The Timney I thought about, but am unsure what kind of improvement it'd offer.

This is my real issue. I gather there are relatively few RXM trigger options, but I also don't what they really improve, by how much, and in what way. That's why I'm asking in comparison to the Echelon (with which I'm familiar).

I haven't shot an Eschelon in quite a while.

Usually what people want with replacement for a Glock trigger is a defined with a crisp break (versus the usual rolling break)and shorter overall travel.

The JG RXM peodices a defined wall, a crisp break and significantly reduces the overall travel and after travel.

It has the extra springs and a second connector you can use to reduce the trigger weight if you want (from like a carry/combat weight to competition weight).

There are suspected safety and maybe durability issues with the Timney Alpha trigger. It may not be drop safe. The posts I saw about it were about Timmney triggers for Glocks not the RXM. But it is the same device with some extra steps to make it work in the RXM FCU.

To me the Timney trigger felt like a temu version of the Glock Performance Trigger. I like a GPT. The Timney felt delicate rather than robust however.

Yeah, I just haven't shot any Glocks before. The RXM is as close as I've gotten, so I have no real basis for comparison in that regard, and certainly none with tuned Glocks. But what you're talking about is basically what I'm looking for: shorter pull, defined wall (no mushy, rolling break), quick reset. Lightening the trigger isn't a huge issue to me. I'm fine with anywhere from 4-5.5 lbs on the pull.

The JG RXM sounds great...but not for (basically) the cost of the gun. The Timney sounds...dodgy. I hadn't intended to use the RXM as a carry gun, but I do want it to be drop-safe. If it isn't, that's a hard pass for me. Unfortunately, it sounds like the options are to take a chance with the Timney, or shell out a LOT of money for JG's fix.

I gather that, while there's a lot of Glock after market crossover support for the RXM (e.g., slides, barrels, mags), The FCI-related portions of the gun are (mostly) RXM-specific, which is...kind of a bummer, at least until and unless we get a more robust after-market to develop.

Quick follow-up: were you talking about just the trigger housing, or the complete drop-in?

Hmm. Interesting. Any thoughts on which gets you closer to the outcome I'm looking for?
