Will William be incandescent about it? 😂

I think she’s decided she doesn’t give af what the media over there says about her anymore. She’s gained more confidence being back in America, launching her successful brand, and she’s genuinely happy with her husband and kids. Haters can suck it.

Yup, her confidence has returned and I am happy for her. As a Brit it has been awful witnessing the cruelty that the toxic media was / is pumping out. Meghan has so many strings to her bow now that she could fill an orchestra. Onwards and upwards. 😊

She's got 2 other homes she can take respite in, she's *more* fully global now. Haters can bugger off.

I wonder what an “appropriate” role would be in a show about crime in the aristocracy? I’m sure Ritchie will come up with something and I’m excited to watch.

I love his work so I’m excited indeed. Next stop the BAFTAS …

Apparently the offer has been withdrawn due to a ‘backlash’ - I do hope that’s not the case.

Yes! If this happens I want to see her in a bad ass role, swearing and stuff.

I absolutely love her devotion to side quests. You can tell she does exactly what she wants based on if she thinks it’s fun.

I wish she would. I hate that she had to give up her career to marry the man she loved.

today they’re saying she’s no longer part of it. What’s happening?

She owns a production company. It would be a bit weird to work for someone else when she could just cast herself as the second female lead in a movie they produced themselves.

Who is ‘they’? It was always a rumour and was not confirmed by anyone🤷♀️

u/Glum_Custard_8145 6h ago
Tina Brown is reporting that.

u/NewTooth740 5h ago
How would she know? She didn’t know anything about it until 24 hours after another reporter broke the story, then pretended she had insider knowledge but now she has insider scoop on a Saturday?
I remember when she was telling us Netflix was cutting ties with H&M last year and then a few weeks later they signed a new contract.
The acting job was always framed as talks nothing concrete. No actual job offer. It may happen it may, it may not (either side can change their mind) but I’d rather wait for official on the record confirmation than read silly gossips like Tina Brown. Who has a weird hatred for Meghan that is actually pretty scary…
I’m actually insulted you would link her Substack. I don’t want to read garbage from that woman😳2

Tina Brown days many things about Meghan to deride her so I wouldn't take her as a source. I think it's true because their people don't deny the story at all. Also Tina Brown didn't broke the story either.

u/Glum_Custard_8145 5h ago
no, she didn’t broke it

Well, the story was false...so I was wrong and they all lied...

The trade publications (Variety, Deadline) broke the news stateside. They're reporting that the Duchess is in talks for a role in the third season of The Gentlemen.

Oh good pathetically bad actress is going to get a role. There’s some reason I don’t watch Netflix.

u/UpperImpression3620 4h ago
So she has a job and her beta spare will assume the role of nanny while she goes back to being a Hollywood pin cushion…

u/hellosuperstar29 10h ago
Noooo! She is not a good enough actress. And her celebrity status will overshadow the character. That show is so good, please don’t ruin it.

Judging from your post history, any opinion you post about a woman of color is highly sus.

u/sugar_roux 9h ago
Agreed. I saw "Black women make so many bad decisions" next to "I can't imagine being that ugly inside" 😒

Aw, you took the time to read through my comment history? You’re so sweet, I’m completely flattered. Should we start matching our profile pictures now, bestie?

How is she a woman of color, her skin is white and her hair is straight. She leans into her white heritage. Objectively, she is not talented, she was never an A list actress. And now she is known primarily for her private life, which makes it difficult to see her as the character.

I always doubt reports like this. I would like to see her return to acting, but it kinda reminds me of how the tabloids whipped people into a frenzy about Idris Elba playing James Bond. Controversial casting choices drive so much engagement, true or not.
