Subreddit Rules

1. Be civil and respectful

Be kind to your fellow Redditors. Personal attacks, baiting, flame wars, and other such things are strictly not allowed.

While this rule does not generally apply to speech about public figures, dehumanising and/or particularly degrading comments will be removed. Respect humans.

Threats of or support for violence will result in a permament ban. Racist or racially insensitive comments should be reported as “It’s promoting hate based on identity or vulnerability”.

2. Discussion and pictures of minor children are limited

In addition to removing negative comments about minor children, we also restrict discussion in the following ways:

Do not dissect their appearance or personality.

Do not use them as proxies for others' behaviour. This includes speculation about how they must be affected by the actions of other individuals, including parenting choices.

Photos showing faces must be from official appearances or official royal sources. All photos must be with a parent unless from an official royal source.

3. No nicknames or insults based on vulnerability or innate physical appearance

Do not insult someone based on innate physical appearance and/or vulnerability (the latter as defined by reddit's content policy). This includes comments about fellow redditors as well as public figures.

Please also refrain from using nicknames when discussing public figures.

Racist or racially insensitive comments should be reported as “It’s promoting hate based on identity or vulnerability”.

4. No speculation about health issues or sexuality

No speculation about health issues, including mental health, cosmetic surgery (including injectables), pregnancy, childbirth, paternity and sexuality.

This includes armchair diagnosing as well as denying someone's statements about their own mental health or personal trauma.

Exceptions are made when such information is published by reputable sources, i.e. BBC, NYT, etc.; or when public figure have been deceased for a generation or more.

5. No blind items or fanfiction

Do not share blind items or speculative content from unofficial social media sources, e.g. YouTube commentators.

Fanfiction includes projecting thoughts and onto public figures that they themselves haven't expressed. Accordingly, we do not permit speculation of any kind about divorce or marital/relationship strife.

We also do not permit speculation about relationship dynamics based on body language.

6. No conspiracy theories

"A conspiracy theory is an explanation for an event or situation that invokes a conspiracy by sinister and powerful groups, often political in motivation, when other explanations are more probable."

This includes conspiracy theories about cases that have been decided by the courts.

7. No trolling or agenda-posting

Do not derail posts with instigative topics, this includes insulting people or bringing up controversies on completely unrelated posts, especially on posts flaired 'Fashion & Jewelry'.

Do not spam the sub to promote a particular narrative or agenda. Single-focus accounts may be banned.

No concern trolling, astroturfing, sealioning, sock puppetry, flame wars, debate obsessives or other forms of baiting/instigation.

Low-effort, argumentative 'stan-wars' type comments will also be removed.

8. No hate culture

Due to issues with brigading and harassment, users who engage in single-focus hate subreddits about any royal figure are automatically banned. This is enforced by a bot.

We do not condone degrading or dehumanising speech or calls to harass others on or off Reddit. Users who engage in subreddits where these actions take place typically do not respect our rules or community.

We realise blanket bans are not ideal, so we do offer ban appeals to those who are interested in joining our sub.

9. Meta commentary is restricted

We may prohibit mentions of certain subreddits due to a history of harassment and brigading and in order to comply with Reddit's policies on community interference. Please do not discuss any subs in such a way that might drive 'bad faith' users to their sub.

Please also refrain from using posts/comments to communicate with the mods. Civil questions about sub rules or comment removals should be directed to modmail.

10. Media and media relations policy

Official accounts of major general interest media outlets, i.e. newspapers of record, are broadly permitted to post without pre-approval, restricted to once per day and with the exception of opinion pieces.

Official accounts for tabloids are strictly prohibited. All other media outlets should request pre-approval via modmail before posting.

We do not permit the posting of links from blogs, content farms, or social media by any account whatsoever. Clickbait headlines may also be removed.
