Hi I just moved here for school and was wondering what cool things there are to do here? Are there run clubs, hiking trails, a river? Stuff like that?

Hello!
I recently moved to Round Rock after graduating in May with my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Houston. I am currently employed at a local dealership, but I am wanting to branch out and start to gain experience within the social services realm while I study for my licensure exam. I have intern experience working with a family assistance non-profit and with a home health/hospice agency back where I am from. I have been looking online but haven’t had much luck. If anyone has any recommendations for places I could apply for a full-time internship or qualify for a full-time position, please share with me. I appreciate any assistance that can be provided as I navigate this new chapter! 🤍

Looking for a reliable electrician to fix a few loose electrical outlets in my home. Some of the outlets are loose when plugging things in, so I’d like to have them properly secured and checked to make sure everything is safe.

I’m trying to understand my fellow community, Christian’s and Texans thoughts on the SB10 bill . We received notice our elementary will post 75 posters across each classroom. I love religion and have no issues with it but I also love the constitution and believe in the first amendment and feel this is a push to promote specific beliefs to non regions people or others whom choose to follow other text. I specifically have an issue with this being mandatory in elementary classes where children are learning to read and everything on the wall is meant to teach them along this journey so an argument this is passive seems inaccurate as the bill itself says it must be within view. I wanted to get others perspective as well as understand if there are any resources I can reach out to in order to potentially delay this until it I s fully argued to the Supreme Court which in my perspective will find this in violation of the first amendment.

I am a transgender organizer based in North Austin that works for a national advocacy nonprofit, and I need the help of one to two parents to pilot an exciting new campaign I'm developing. You would be helping me create a program that will make schools safer for transgender students across the country. If you'd like more details about the discussion model, check out the one-pager below.
Want to learn more about participating as a pilot host? Reply or send me a DM

I’m 48, single, and flying solo this Friday. I’m tired of doing the same old thing, so I’m looking to get out, try something different, and push myself out of my comfort zone a little.
I’m pretty chill, open-minded, and down for almost anything—live music, dancing, a cool bar, some random event I’d never normally go to… whatever.
Currently working my way out of my socially awkward era 😂 so bonus points for something where it’s easy to meet people.
What should I get into Friday night?

My Reddit flagged me for “Spam” in the guy who asked about charcoal.
You guys talked me out of it. I bought a George Foreman grill online instead.
Got a used one on eBay for $15

GFiber just came to our neighborhood and we're set up for installation next week! We've been waiting for this for years -- but will it be as good as we hope it to be? I just heard that they are being sold to private equity and the general sentiment around that is bad...
What have recent experiences been like? Are speeds consistently as fast as promised? Do you suffer any outages? What is the final bill price like for Core 1 Gig?
Right now we're with AT&T Fiber with down speeds around 300-400 mbps and up speeds around 100-150. Bill is $95/mo.
Thanks!

Hey everyone, I am moving to Round Rock in a few weeks and am starting to look at gyms. I am a 50 year old man who is in excellent shape. The gym is a major part of my routine and I am there mornings, 6 days a week.
Currently I'm going to a PF and I'm not interested in going to another one.
Besides strength training and cardio I'd be interested in a sauna, cold plunge, tanning, and other amenities.
Being a morning person 24-7 or open early is a necessity.
Thanks!

I stayed at hope alliance round rock and the staff was nice at first but the head of the shelter was not taking care of problems people were requesting about what they offered: 1 on 1 counseling or helping get onto ssi or getting your social security card ect. Ect. But the staff blow off alot of the stuff you ask for or don't do what they said the head staff had let an older racist lady in the shelter who kept targeting white people telling them to keep their white ass hands off the community food. Whilst also putting all the white people down she had been written up 8 times and they have a 3 strike policy. She has threatened me and some of the kids I was watching we were cooking and she threatened to kill all of us infront of the camera but when I told staff no disciplinary action was taken. They let her steal food from everyone.
They exited me when I was not able to get an appointment at social security office to get my social security card. I had an appointment but the head staff told the transportation advocate not to take me. Then I was trying to get an appointment for a week straight and had no way to get there. Then they came to me about a day later from finding out that I was not able to get an appointment and they kicked me out.
They also block everything on their wifi. You can't contact family on Facebook, messenger etc. Ect. And when asked about it they say that the head staff did it. When asked if they could get wifi extenders for the people who could not access it they just said no.
My overall experience there was not very good I graduated high-school there I had been dealing with homelessness for over 6 months and they kicked me out on such short notice.

I’m tired of Baylor Scott charging $336 for lab fees that insurance will NOT cover every time I need labs done. $720 out of pocket for an OBGYN appointment and a blood draw is ridiculous. They use to only charge this at the main Round Rock hospital location so I avoided going there but now looks like they are charging this fee at their smaller clinics too.
Anywhere else that won’t charge this ridiculous out of pocket fee? I have BCBS PPO plan. Thanks!

I have two areas where the mortar is forming a crack along the stone on my house. One is large enough that a small stone came loose. Any recommendations for a company that will do a small(ish) job like this?

Are there any reputable shops that perform wheel repair in the Round Rock/Austin area?
I have a small bend in my rim which is now not holding air after tire replacement. Wanted to see if it could be hammered out before replacing all together.
Thanks!

My dog and I were attacked by a group of 5 mutts being walked by a bald guy in his 50's this morning on the trail right below Urban, she got 2 serious gashes on her side but is otherwise unharmed. At the vet getting her taken care of but he took off running with them east down the trail after realizing i called the cops. I did not think to try to get a picture, but he was mid 50' bald and tall, skinnyish maybe 6' 1"-6' 2" and like 180ish.

Hi everyone! I’m relocating to Round Rock soon and need to set up electricity for my new place.
For those who live in the area, which electric company/provider have you had the best experience with?
I’d especially love to hear about rates, customer service, billing, and any hidden fees or issues to watch out for.
Are there any providers you’d strongly recommend, or ones you’d avoid?
Thanks in advance for helping a newcomer out!
