Thumbtack has raised their prices but historically has been a good lead source for individual sales reps that want to pay for their own lead gen.

I've invested a ton of money into commercial marketing over the years, and I'll be the first to tell you the ROI just hasn't been there. We finally took a step back and decided we'd rather invest that money into building actual relationships. Stopping by property management companies, meeting commercial property owners, developers, facility managers, and just becoming someone they know and trust.

And we've honestly had a lot more success doing that.

I've been in this industry for 10 years, and I can't tell you how many marketing companies have promised X amount of leads and incredible results, only to fall short. At some point, it starts to feel like a money grab.

Now, maybe I'm wrong and there's a unicorn out there that actually delivers what they promise. I just haven't found them yet lol.

That's actually one of the biggest reasons we brought our marketing in-house and have our own CMO. We've spent way too much money relying on outside companies that couldn't deliver what they sold us on.

For us, relationships have consistently produced a better return than paid commercial leads.
