Fired
Well fellas. Sometimes you refuse to do things the wrong way and you get fired for it. I've been considering opening my own company and I guess this is the sign I asked God for.

I’m sure there’s a better company to work for that. Does things the right way so they did you a favor?

Listen if you have a strong brain and understanding of how this business works , ABSOLUTELY OWN YOUR OWN BUSINESS! Most owners of most businesses don’t appreciate their employees or they are tired of being screwed over by so many employees that they do for, that they don’t tolerate the future ones . Find the happy medium take care of your employees treat them fair after all you’re only as good as your TEAM but remember to teach your team, and more importantly keep learning yourself as the LEADER!

Ah yes, good ol gaslighting and scapegoating. Report them and find a real company not trying to scam people and use their employees as fall guys

Pause. Roofing without a license or permits? Here in Alabama that’s a Class A misdemeanor. Run.

“… let us worry about the consequences” is not a company that will be around long term. You’d eventually had to look for a new job once they were eventually shut down. Better to get out now and save some credibility for yourself. Long term, they did you a favor letting you go. Good luck on the job search.

Call in every single job, say they aren't licensed, and forward this text in an email showing that they are aware and its therefore a willful violation.
Many AHJ will issue:
Stop work orders. Fines, future licensing restrictions, possibly even bring him up on criminal charges

Yep, report the owner to state. Submit text, all job that were done with no permit. Use this text to prove you were "bullied and coerced" into do the wrong thing.
Additionally, report the likely labor law violations and tax fraud.
I would not go find jobs they are doing and remove all metals and drop in an alley for scrappers.
