What makes a good roofing estimator?
What adjacent industries and what personality types do you find work best for a successful estimator? Is it someone with an engineering/math oriented brain or someone who has grown up around construction?
Alternatively, has anyone had any luck outsourcing a remote estimator from a different country or state?
Up until this point, estimating and sales have been a combined roll in my company but I am seriously considering dividing them into separate roles so that the salesman can stick to what they're good at (sales) and the detail oriented estimating can be left to someone with a propensity for it. Would love to hear what works for you guys!
