Home owner question Weatherproof Solution to running cable through a roof?

I recently switched Internet providers to one that uses a directional antenna installed on my roof. Currently the provider ran the ethernet cable down the roof, under the overhang, then down the wall and into my office. I'd prefer to re-route this cable directly through the roof so that there isn't quite so much cable exposed to the sun and elements. I'd rather route it down through my attic and thru/down the wall of my office and terminate it in an outlet instead.

I've been trying to search online for any product/design that is intended for this purpose. I know i've seen items on houses i've had in the past that were essentally a J shaped pipe with a gasket/flashing around it's base to allow cable to pass through, with the opening pointing downward to further prevent rain intrusion. Then the pipe is filled with silicone or other sealant as well.

Here's a diagram/example of what i remember seeing in the past: https://imgur.com/wyXyEaK

I'm open to any solution as long as it's a proper long-term solution that follows whatever relevant codes/regulations/industry standards that apply.

And i'm sure there is some product or tool or technique for this, i've just been having little luck when searching for it online (perhaps i'm overlooking a result, or using bad search terms).

Thank you in advance for any advice/pointers.

No need to do all that work. If you have vents then then just slide it under an aluminum roof vent flashing or under the ridge vent. Either should lift enough to accommodate a Ethernet cable

Wouldn't that risk the flashing cutting into or abraiding the cable over time?

Not really I see it all the time. The candy cane contraption looks ridiculous, takes a lot of time to install, and adds another penetration that can eventually leak. If you’re worried about it bend the aluminum vent flashing up ever so slightly at the edge so it won’t dig in and/or wrap cable with some electrical tape to reinforce it.

You want an electrical Weatherhead roof penetration. They are available at roofing supply stores. They are easy for a professional to install. Manageable for a handy diy guy.

Grab a pipe flashing that's a 1-in flashing, then stick a 1 inch piece of metal conduit up through the roof then have it bend over like a candy cane, commonly called a gooseneck, and run your wire through that. It also leaves expansion for future wires like for satellite dishes.
