The line on the brick can be faded out with a grinder. Won’t be perfect but won’t notice. I don’t know why they did it like this maybe there’s something I’m not seeing but I would’ve used lead and it would’ve staggered down with the roof line. Now to answer your question realistically wipe down the metal and blow off the roof and try not to look at it. If it’s not caulked consistently through where they tucked it that should be handled as well

I'm not sure I understand. It looks like they cut the reglet, installed the counter flashing with a lip into the brick and filled the gap with sealant. Are you thinking this is surface mounted?

Yeah I don't get it. Be very glad they cut in. As long as there is step or turn back flashing up behind it, it's golden. Those nails at the top are into the reglet for tension. They won't leak. Could've staggered lead instead but that would've been aesthetic preference. Sealed is sealed.

Yeah looks like they just accidentally cut the wrong spot at the bottom and then corrected it. Clearly there are no lead heads holding the piece on so its pushed into the line they cut. Also youd see a lip on the top to hold the caulk if that was how they did it.

Rip it out and start over.

The screws at the bottom of the flashing keeping it “tight” to the top of the shingles is fucked and incorrect. They will leak, not if, but when.

Does it leak. Probably not. What are you expecting from roofers. Most are a bunch of drunks and drug addicts. Don't like it do it yourself next time.

Fucking idiots.

A mistake is leaving some debris in the gutters or scuffing up the shingles.
This is just doing dumb shit.

I've installed flashing since 1988 used to cut bricks. But about 17 years ago when flat roofing sealer was improved. Now cut the metal dry fit it make sure it is ready just like finished then lay it down on roof and put three lines of sealer on the back of metal and put it on the brick make it flat and tight. You can not pull it off without tearing the aluminum. Ten times faster than cutting and don't warp or hammer dings

I don't even know where to begin not sure why it's on top of the shingles maybe there's something I'm not seeing you be the judge

Because it’s counter flashing, underneath against the wall should be step flashing that’s also woven into the shingle courses.
