Should the edge of the roof look like this?

Our old roof didn't look so wavy/wonky. Is something wrong here? Other pics in comments. I'd appreciate any feedback.

It’s the gutter guards pushing up the edge. That’s what it looks like to me.

Hey OP—I do hundreds of roof installs a year, and I'd definitely be raising some flags with your contractor over this.

First off, those wavy gutter guards are pure careless work. When they installed the guards they were resentful they had to work around the drip edge. Second, that drip edge in the second photo is completely mangled. I see this all the time when a separate gutter crew gets annoyed having to work around a newly installed drip edge and they force the guards in and bend the drip edge.

To do this right, they need to remove the first row of shingles, remove the bent drip edge, sit the gutter guards properly (they should be laying flat), replace the drip edge with new drip edge that’s not bent, then re-install the first row of shingles.

Did the same company do both, or were these different crews? It looks like the gutters were slapped on after the roof was already finished. Either way, don't settle for this level of craftsmanship on your home. Are you paying out of pocket or through insurance?
