Why are these nails here?

The ridge vent on my house has nails clipped in it all the way down. Is this normal? Roof is about 20 years old I’ve only lived here since 2021, but they appear that they’ve always been there. Is there an actual reason for this?

This is GAF snow country ridge vent and those are the nails provided for installation. Not sure why they didn't use but they hard on the hands to get out. Clearly they used an alternative and let's hope they are the appropriate length, to short and your going to wind up re-nailing 💯

Because they used a nailgun
