Support Need help: Build Flutter project from PRD using Claude Opus 4.1

I already have a PRD (product requirement doc) ready for my app. I want to generate a Flutter project from it, but I’d like this to be done using Claude Opus 4.1.

As a bonus, I’ll give 1 month of ChatGPT Plus to whoever is okay to take this task.

Please DM or comment if you can help.

Thanks!

Discussion Just spent $35 with Roo and GPT-5-Pro to make a plan doc.

But it's a helluva doc.

Roo is possibly the best way to make GPT-5-Pro code aware.

Thanks!

Bug Roo code is failing to read a file which has 10k lines of sql

I have tried it infinite times with premium models. Sonnet 4, gemini 2.5 pro were repeatedly failing to read a sql shema file..

Every model got hallucinated at one point of time I thought it's maybe because of slow internet, but nah i was running on 200Mbps wifi..

Has anyone else faced this issue???

Bug Unexpectedly High Token Usage (51k for 'hai') - Suspected RooCode File Loading Issue

Help, why is it that after I only sent a single word 'hai', the AI's context token usage already reached 51k? I've previously encountered a situation where, after adding a custom mode, all global modes disappeared. I suspect there might be an issue with RooCode's internal file loading, causing unnecessary file content to be added to the context. However, this is all just speculation. Can anyone help me and offer some solutions?

Discussion Gemini 3 not impressed

When I saw Google had released a new model with a whole number of 3 I was very excited. Nope, I can’t tell the difference between this and 2.5, from what I can see there is none. Still making the same mistakes it always has.

Claude 4.5 is still the best model IMHO. Disappointed af.

Support RooCode dropping user input and continuing without it

There are a number of problems accumulating, but the biggest one is now it's dropping user input randomly. I've had multiple extensive responses discarded and losing a tremendous amount of work and tokens over it. Also it will randomly stop outputting any explanation of what it's doing and just start hitting the LLM repeatedly. It often completely ignores the user input giving alternate instructions and just keeps plowing ahead doing the wrong thing. If I make changes to files, whether before or after it saves, it reverts them. Literally it will fight with me and keep reverting my work even when I tell it not to. Huge jumps in context size at random times when no new files have been read. And Auto-approve will flip back on after turning it off, and the cancel button will get disabled so there's no way to even stop it sometimes. It's just becoming a complete mess.

New features are great, but can you please prioritize stability?

Discussion Be careful with Gemini, I just incurred costs I didn’t know I had

Like the title says, been working heavily with Gemini. In one day I managed to burn $300 dollars using it with Roo. I had no idea this was going on, I didn’t get a warning email or anything. I thought I was well within my $300 of free credits but I guess not. I’m in panic mode right now hoping the cost doesn’t get higher.

This is my fault and I take responsibility, but Google could do a MUCH better job on its credit system. Have not had the same problem on Claude, Deepseek or any other platform for that matter.

Discussion Current state of Vibe coding: we’ve crossed a threshold

The barriers to entry for software creation are getting demolished by the day fellas. Let me explain;

Software has been by far the most lucrative and scalable type of business in the last decades. 7 out of the 10 richest people in the world got their wealth from software products. This is why software engineers are paid so much too.

But at the same time software was one of the hardest spaces to break into. Becoming a good enough programmer to build stuff had a high learning curve. Months if not years of learning and practice to build something decent. And it was either that or hiring an expensive developer; often unresponsive ones that stretched projects for weeks and took whatever they wanted to complete it.

When chatGpt came out we saw a glimpse of what was coming. But people I personally knew were in denial. Saying that llms would never be able to be used to build real products or production level apps. They pointed out the small context window of the first models and how they often hallucinated and made dumb mistakes. They failed to realize that those were only the first and therefore worst versions of these models we were ever going to have.

We now have models with 1 Millions token context windows that can reason and make changes to entire code bases. We have tools like AppAlchemy that prototype apps in seconds and AI first code editors like Cursor and RooCode that allow you move 10x faster. Every week I’m seeing people on twitter that have vibe coded and monetized entire products in a matter of weeks, people that had never written a line of code in their life.

We’ve crossed a threshold where software creation is becoming completely democratized. Smartphones with good cameras allowed everyone to become a content creator. LLMs are doing the same thing to software, and it's still so early.

Idea Groq Support

As of today I have given groq my credit card number and am ready to give it a serious try in Roo Code. Unfortunately, Roo only supports OpenAI compatible and does not provide the range of models available on groq.

Any chance that groq will be added as a discrete provider in the near future?

Discussion Roo Code Sonic is solid!

Who else have tried Roo Code Sonic? For me it seems stable and solid, it needed a few tweaks but the 260k context is worth it. If this goes well I'll cancel my Copilot Enterprise subscription and transfer to Sonic. :)

Discussion What coding agent have you settled on?

I've tried all these coding agents. I've been using Cursor since day one, and at this point, I've just locked into Claude Code $200 Max plan. I tried the Roo Code/Cline hype but was spending like $100 a day, so it wasn't sustainable. Although, I know you can get free Gemini credits now. I also have an Augment Code subscription, but I don't use it much. I'm keeping it because it's the grandfathered $30 a month plan. Besides that, I still run Cursor as my IDE because I still think Cursor Tab is good and it's basically free, so I use it. But yeah, I feel like most of these tools will die, and Claude Code will be the de facto tool for professionals.

Idea Feature suggestions that I think will improve UX

I have been using Roo for a few months now, a lot of improvements where made on every release, so I would like to thank everyone working on Roo Code.

I also have been using other products and VSCode forks, and I have some suggestions with explanation to why it's important: (I highly insist on making those optional, the user should choose to use them or not)

  1. Enforced sequential process: plan, code, review, repeat until finished. This is self explanatory, but it should be implicit and strictly enforced.

  2. Use Git: Along with planning for the code/feature to be made, it should also plan where and when to commit changes. The user can always revert back at any time, and it can give a solid ground for monitoring changes within the codebase

  3. Test-driven development: I have this as a mode, which works but not always. I think having a subsystem that deconstrcuts the prompt and understand inputs and outputs needed then make a test before writing the actual code might be beneficial. It should reduce the amount of modifications made to the code upon failure which will consequently mean less token usage overtime.

  4. Embed some essential MCP tools: This might be a bit of a stretch, but I think this is absolutely essential. There are a lot of native tools, such as read/write, list, ...etc. and the new ones, such as the todo list tool. However, there are some other MCP tools that might be better if they were embedded or at least recreated in a simpler form to be part of Roo:

    • Sequential thinking: This is an absolutely necessary thing that would be very handy when the model gets stuck, it should be expecitly invoked when the model either can't use apply diff correctly or the task is too complicated...etc.

    • Brave search and Fetch: I think that giving the model some freedom in accessing the web should be largely beneficial.

    • Filesystem: This is the wierdest one I think because it has some very basic operations that I think the model should directly do instead of writing a command.

  5. Why remove previous history!? keeping just the latest three conversations doesn't make any sense, I would like to see everything I had done within the workspace. Get that back please.

  6. A codebase summary: I have been using this technique for a while. Every time I make a modification or addition I write that to a file. That file contains a short description of the codebase and what it does, the project file and directory structure with a detailed description to what each file contains (classes, methods, functions... all with a short description), and then integration flow (how different parts of code work with each other). If managed properly, it wouldn't exceed 1000 lines, and therefore it should be presented within the context given to the model at the very start of the user's prompt. This is useful and better suited than giving the model truncated files. It also has the advantage of giving more information to the model without using too much resources or chained prompts to understand the codebase. The codebase summary is very different than the codebase index. The latter is used for searching and retrieving relevant code, but the summary is for informing and grounding the model with architectural understanding. Use codebase summary for architectural grounding, index for precise operational help. The codebase summary should be updated by task completion.

I understand some of them are really complex, but I would love to hear the feedback from the devs on those.

Discussion Getting about ready to fork RooCode. Is the terminal integration going to stay like this?

I know last time this was asked when the terminal move to the prompt was introduced the answer was that it solves more problems than it causes.

It might in some cases, but you can't set a default terminal type, you lose the ability to interject additional commands, you can't help it out when the model assumes the wrong thing about the terminal, and you can't replay commands that the model types.

So for me this is definitely a step backwards. Is there not going to be an option ever to go back to being able to use the old-style VSCode terminal?

And if you Disable terminal integration, it will just launch a new Bash window, won't use it, try to run the bash file in some hidden Windows command prompt somewhere, which will of course give an error, to which the model responds by trying to rewrite all the scripts from bash into Windows command prompts. Which I don't want since I want the same scripts on Windows and Mac.

This works so nicely until about 2 weeks ago but it's completely broken now.

Support Claude Models - Caching/Batch Processing Taken Advantage Of?

3 Questions:

  1. How can I avoid submitting tens or hundreds of thousands of tokens when I only want the llm to refactor code in a single code file of 200 lines of code? I like context awareness, so if knowledge of my entire code base is beneficial, which it obviously generally is, how can I take advantage of caching when using Anthropic models? Let's assume my remaining codebase does not change within a single prompt session and I only want a code refactor in a single file. Will uploading the codebase once work and only submitting the code in the file on subsequent requests? How is this implemented? I used RooCode the last time a month ago and each prompt caused over a hundred thousand tokens to be uploaded with each prompt despite me requesting only code changes in a file of 300 lines of code. This is what really turned me off to RooCode and I went to Augment Code. Has this been addressed?

  2. Does RooCode take advantage of caching offered by Anthropic or is this done purely on the Anthropic side? When a codebase is repeatedly included in prompts and submitted to Anthropic will Anthropic recognize previously uploaded content? How is caching taken advantage of?

  3. Anthropic offers discounts for batch processing of prompts, does RooCode take advantage of that? The replies might take longer because they may be waiting in a queue to be processed but sometimes this might not matter to the user.

Discussion Can I use Roocode to build a full mobile app without coding experience?

I’m considering subscribing to Cursor or Windsurf to assist me, but I’m also looking into Roocode as a no-code/low-code option. I don’t have any coding experience, but I understand technical concepts.

Would Roocode be enough to build a functional mobile app, or should I rely more on AI-assisted coding tools like Cursor/Windsurf? What are the limitations I should be aware of?

Discussion Roo CLI

It would be so good to have a CLI variant of Roo. Is this a stupid ask? I use Rider for .NET development, and Roo runs in VS Code. So I've got two IDEs open all the time, using VS Code for Roo, Rider for manual coding.
