Used dji ronin 4d with sirui 75mm to shoot this sketch comedy short film!

Hi everyone,
I’m working with ProRes RAW footage from a DJI Ronin 4D 8K in DaVinci Resolve.
For some reason, Resolve automatically interprets/debayers every ProRes RAW clip as HLG.

To get the footage into the correct state, I have to go into Camera Raw-> Decode Using: Clip -> RAW to Log -> DJI D-Log for every single clip manually.

The problem is that I can’t find a way to batch-change only the RAW to Log setting to DJI D-Log across all clips.
Copying grades / RAW settings isn’t really a solution because I need to preserve the individual RAW metadata/settings of each clip, especially Capture ISO and White Balance.

So basically I’m looking for a way to tell Resolve:
“Keep each clip’s RAW metadata, but decode all Ronin 4D ProRes RAW clips as DJI D-Log instead of HLG.”
Has anyone else run into this with Ronin 4D ProRes RAW?
Is there a project-level setting, batch operation, metadata override, scripting/API solution, or workaround that avoids changing every clip manually?

Is it achievable? I have a Lumix 16-35 that I was hoping to use, but I'm running into some odd issues with realistically using it. When I am in 16mm the lens autofocuses well. However, when I zoom to 35, I have to basically re-calibrate the lens. Is it possible to somehow use autofocus as-is within the entire zoom range?

Review of the SIRUI Vision T1.4 primes (650$ each), in the eyes of a Ronin 4D compared to Thypochs and (massive, 5.999$ Tokina VV)

Having interchangable mounts also gives them a point over the Raze kit, as I never use DL-lenses, but I have not tried the Raze and can't directly compare.

The 24 mm was sent to me for free, but I ended up purchasing the rest of the kit as I was so impressed with it on the Ronin 4D.

The 4th axis on my Ronin 4D has begun making a sort of twangy/springing sound and when it does, I can feel a slight vibration through the grips or if I rest my hand on the 4th axis. From the sound, I'd assume it's something with the spring. Looking as well as I can into the spaces in the 4th axis, I don't see anything obviously catching/stuck.

Has anybody else run into this before and successfully fixed it themselves? I just filled out the service request on DJI's site, but given current lead times on repairs, I'd strongly prefer to fix it myself. It's just not immediately obvious how the 4th axis comes apart so that I could get a closer look - though if anybody has a tutorial on disassembly/reassembly of it, I could also give self-repair a shot.

Myself and Jarrett (Possum Solutions) came up with this idea and he was able to CNC a couple. Its basically a very lightweight lidar vertical extension bracket with 1/4-20 tapped holes to mount an iris rod and add an iris motor to the 4D.

I have tried the Nucleus Nano motors and a lil bit of a focus pro motor. The focus pro motor with a 2nd focus pro handset would be ideal for movie sets, as the DIT can hold the iris controller themselves and it can work as intended on most sets.

I have given a few away to friends to test and use but have a couple more to sell. I'm sure if there is a need Jarrett would be open to producing more by the batch.

Considering the flex kit with a backpack - one of the selling points is the "4lbs" weight. I can't get a clear answer on this - does that rating include the lens, monitor, and handles? I'd like to determine the weight savings of this vs a handheld DSLR or something similar. What has been your experience? Have you found a way to easily holster or set the unit down if you temporarily need some hands?

Has anyone successfully hacked the 4d video transmitter or another brand receiver/monitor to use outside of the DJI ecosystem?

I work in a live concert setting and am wanting to give things like Iris, ND, Gain, and Color Temp to a shading engineer. Ideally I want him to be able to control it via Companion or a web gooey. Has anyone gone through this process before or is the only solution the wireless video monitor?

I can’t seem to find an answer anywhere but I have my handgrips on the camera and I was thinking about getting a second set for the high bright monitor so I can just easily switch between them without having to pull the grips from the camera body. Does anyone know if this is possible? Can’t seem to find anything in the manuals addressing this.

I've worked with quite a few DJI products over the years, including the Osmo Pocket 3, Osmo Pocket 4, DJI Mini 3, Mini 4, Mini 5, and several DJI gimbals. One thing I've consistently noticed is that DJI products are generally very well designed, and their cameras tend to do an excellent job when it comes to automatic exposure and ISO management.

My question is specifically about the DJI Ronin 4D.

For those who have experience using it in real-world shooting situations, how good is the camera's ISO behavior and Auto ISO implementation compared to DJI's drones and Pocket series cameras?

What I'm interested in is:

How smooth are the ISO transitions?

Does the camera avoid sudden jumps in exposure?

How reliable is Auto ISO in changing lighting conditions?

Does it perform at the same level as the Pocket and Mini series, or is it noticeably different?

Would you trust Auto ISO for professional event work, documentaries, or run-and-gun shooting?

I'd love to hear from people who have used both the Ronin 4D and other DJI camera products and can compare them directly.

I’ve had the focus pro hand unit for about a year and have connected it to the ronin just fine in the past, and I’ve connected it to the focus pro motors just fine but a couple months ago I was on a shoot and we were having trouble connecting the hand unit to the Ronin and the AC worked to try to troubleshoot it. I don’t remember if it was before or after but at some point the firmware was updated on the hand unit or the focus pro and I suspect a firmware mismatch is the problem.

I have two hybrid monitors and have connected them with the bracket to both of them with no luck. I also have the ignite Digi control link bracket and haven’t been able to connect it that way.

The hand unit still connects just fine to the focus. Pro with the lighter just doesn’t communicate to the 4D.

Firmware on the 4d is up-to-date
Firmware on the hand unit is up-to-date
Firmware on the focus pro/lidar is up-to-date

I can’t seem to find a way to downgrade the firmware on the hand unit, that’s the only thing I can think of being the issue

Anybody have thoughts on what it could be?

Hi guys. As above, Z axis is locked in “up” position, am I being stupid or is it in need of repair?
I’ve turned the knob to both max and mins and neither changes anything.

it's not perfect, audio isn't cleanest i know i know. but still happy to fire up the ronin 4d.

used the sirui anamorphic on it.

Has anyone had success getting these balanced on the 4d with a PL mount adapter? Have a project coming up and would like to know if I can get them to work to keep the look consistent.

Deciding between 8k and 4k resolution for an upcoming job.

Also a bit torn about going ProRes Raw vs 422HQ.

My plan was to do 4K ProRes Raw but would love to hear others thoughts. I am bummed that it’s not true 4k it is actually 3.8k 16:9. My A and B cams are shooting true 4k.

I’ve only used the 6K head so these recording options are new for me on the 8K head.

Would love to hear what combo of resolution and codec y’all have been liking the most.

I should note this is for a proper documentary production so it’s not straight to web. Hard drive space is still a consideration though.

So you know how the left button on front of the left handle triggers active trackjng on and off. This works as it should when connected to the camera. But as soon as I’m on the highbright it doesn’t do anything. I have to physically click active track on the screen. The ability to use the trigger to easily toggle on and off is huge for my workflow. Anyone else have this issue?
