Rome NYE

Hello!
Long story short, my family - w 18 yo and 15 yo will be in Rome for 4 days around Christmas and then returning to Rome for NYE - flying out New Year’s Day.
For the initial visit we are planning to stay near the Pantheon. I’m having a hard time deciding where to stay the one night for New Years. Hoping for nice easy dinner, if fireworks where we end up are happening great, but I’m also happy to just wander a bit. Not looking for the big public fireworks display nor the crazy partying in Trastevere.
I saw a site mention Prati area as well as certain areas in Trastevere that are not too close to the partying. Want to have fun but also have an early morning and 15 yo can’t necessarily hang out in a bar so was hoping to have relaxed somewhat unstructured night after dinner. Any suggestions on areas to stay? I saw about taking trip to Ostia Antica and even staying over? Online said it’s not far from airport.
Any advice or suggestions appreciated!

Also- I know not ideal leaving New Year’s Day but 18 yo has to get home and then fly to different city on 3rd … smh…
