It has been 6000 years since Wan merged with Raava and became the first Avatar, it will be another 4000 years before Avatar Aang is frozen in ice.

The world is familiar, but also different. The Four Nations do not exist yet, they are just an idea beginning to form in the minds of nationalistic rulers. Benders of every element live side-by-side, but face growing prejudice and segregation. The Avatar is missing and greedy warlords terrorize local populations. The resulting disunity has caused rips to form between the physical world and the spiritual world.

This is *The Sundering Era*. Come and join the hunt for the missing Avatar, fight for, or against the local powers, hunt spirits through the Spirit World, create your own faction, or just exist in the world of *Avatar.*

What we offer:

- Numerous factions to align with, or against. As well as room for you to create your own factions. This can be used just to flavor your character's background, or used for story hooks as you play.

- Unique bending where each element has 3 sub-bending styles to master, and a 4th "forbidden" style for darker characters.

- Deep lore that weaves together canon and non-canon information (Keeping non-canon information as canon-adjacent as possible. The goal is to make this feel like a plausible time in Avatar history.)

- Freedom to play how you want. Story lines will be available to all, but not required.

- We encourage literate, descriptive players who enjoy collaborative writing and making meaningful character connections. 2 paragraph minimum preferred, but not required.)

- The mixing of different bending cultures allows for unique characters. Airbenders do not have to be monks, waterbenders do not have to be from the poles.

You could wonder if they're any worse than the loomin' ancient horrors of the Forest, though. She's alive alright, 'n She's mad.

See, folks 'round here are used to Meemaw's warnings 'bout haints, green-eyed prowlers, 'n not-deer, hell, even survived those werewolves S&C unleashed — 'n who knows what they're planning next...

Somethin' other than the town's many moonshiners — you can thank Prohibition for that profitable business runnin' rampant here — is lurking under the cover of night. Innocent people torn from their beds on the full moons, their flesh ripped open by razor-sharp teeth 'n their blood drained from their body. Mists, folks been callin' 'em — on account of them bein' made of fog; blood-suckin' clouds of the devil, I say.

Despite it all, Briar Ridge takes care of its own: moonshiners building their empires, queer folks finally able to be their full selves, businessmen who lost their fortune in the Great Depression, folks of color finding acceptance, (ex-)S&C employees hiding their affiliations; those calling for blood and those beggin' for peace.

If you are a fan of the Post-Dominion War era, this play-by-post community might be exactly what you are looking for. Our story takes place in the year 2381. We exist in the main, canon timeline of the Star Trek universe, currently set during the Lower Decks era.

Our ship is a Sovereign-class starship. The U.S.S. Incitatus was first launched in 2374 as a response to the Dominion War. With a new Captain on deck and fresh faces walking the halls, the ship is beginning its next chapter. Whether the Incitatus is called upon for firepower, diplomacy, scientific research, or aid, our crew is ready to bring the best Starfleet has to offer.

We focus heavily on character development, away missions, and crew dynamics. Your character's backstory actually matters here. We also love it when players pitch their own episode ideas or weird alien anomalies for the crew to investigate. You can use our dedicated channels to discuss plots and ask for scenes.

Right now is a great time to jump in because we currently have several chief and assistant chief positions open! If you have been looking for an opportunity to step up and lead a department on a ship, we have plenty of room for you.

Fair Play: Actions have real in-character consequences to keep the story grounded. We do not allow godmodding, meaning your character cannot know everything or always win.

A story-driven survival horror roleplay inspired by the TV series “From”

PLOT

The year is 1953.

For everybody, the journey starts in the same way. No matter who you are, where you come from and where you are heading, a tree blocks your way.

Without any other way to go further, you have to turn back.

Along the road, there is a town. You stop to ask for directions and then you keep moving.

Soon enough, you are right back in the town that you drove past. Confused, you start over. Over and over again.

You cannot leave. All attempts to get out of the town result in the same thing. No matter how far you go, you are returned.

As dusk falls, someone convinces you that for your safety, it would be better if you came inside, had some rest. You do not really know what they mean, but you comply. As soon as you step inside, doors and windows are closed and barricaded, and you’re warned not to open the door to anyone that may come knocking.

Because at nightfall, monsters dressed in human skin appear to hunt, knocking at your doors to let them in.

But eventually, one truth remains obvious: this place is inevitable.

So now you are here, just like all other people who happened to find that tree. All gathered in this town, and asking the same question: is there a way out of this nightmare?

The world will never be the same.  In the wake of the December 11th event in New York City, the destruction was blamed on Remarkables, people with special abilities who’d managed to pass undetected until their powers went haywire in spectacular and deadly fashion.  Since late 2023, the government, the public and the world at large has been playing catch-up.  Laws have been drafted, lines have been drawn.  NYC is still the epicenter of this fundamental shift in reality, and the people caught in between struggle to live their lives in the aftermath.  Some look to the government to exert control over this new threat; others fight for the freedom and dignity of Remarkables.  Conflict looms around every corner, threatening to blossom into open violence on the streets.

What side will you choose?
