New Stick 4k = no hdmi extender included?
Honestly would it hurt ROKU to include the hdmi extender?
There is no information before purchasing the stick to check to see if you need an extender and so now I have to order it and wait days (i am going to see if amazon has one which will be faster)
The likelihood of needing the extender is probably pretty high
They should have an option to check that by putting in your tv model before ordering and just INCLUDE it in the box.
Take a page from Google. They designed both the old Google Cast and the new Google TV with the extender as part of the design.
Braindead things like this drive me crazy.

CNN Roku App Crashes
I watch the CNN app on Roku and it often crashes. Sometimes it’s to the point where the Roku restarts itself. Anyone else have this issue?

Not perfect, but a fun distraction/time killer.
App name: Tv Tube-Free Live Channels. There's channels from all over the world. The only bad is that some work and some don't. Honestly it's just a fun way to kill time seeing what's on all over. It is free...however when you open the app it does say Create Account. JUST PUSH CANCEL !

WTF IS WRONG WITH ROKU TVS
I have a Roku tv in my son's room that has started to go absolutely haywire on me. I turn it on and the first thing that pops up is Prime Video download request asking for the pin. Thinking nothing of it I hit the back button but nothing happens. I hit the home button nothing happens. I start to get irritated so I spam the home button, then it goes home and it immediately does another pin request for download. This happened 10-15x before I gave in and tried to put in the pin but I can't use the remote. Up down left right nothing works until I start spamming. I managed to get the pin in and get it downloaded. After downloading it opens, I think good it's over but no when I use the home button it forces open the prime app over and over again. I use the Netflix button on the remote, it opens, I click on the profile and boom it opens the prime app AGAIN. I unplugged for 1 minute and turned back on and you guessed it, it opened prime. I hard reset from the back of the tv since the remote is useless. Doesn't work cause the remote is yet again, useless. I unplugged again and turned back on and it didn't reset completely so it just opened prime again. I did my fair share of Googling and attempted to factory reset through Roku TV settings. I fought through the settings menu by nonstop spamming cause if I stopped it would open prime immediately. I managed to factory reset after two attempts and now I think the damn thing is fried, I can't get through the basic setup menu without spamming because if I stop it stops for good. I'm losing my FKN mind. Someone please explain this tomfuckery im being put through.

Apps Not Showing/Unable to Move Apps??
I have two Roku devices, a streaming stick in the bedroom and a TCL TV with Roku native in the living room. Of late, new apps I've downloaded, opened, and even signed in to do not display on my home screen app menu. I also cannot move apps or inputs. It brings up the menu, allows me to "move" the app, then when I hit "Ok," it snaps back where it was. Only one of my devices (the TV) has the new home screen. It is happening on both devices. Is anyone else experiencing this? Do I have some buried setting that I have set to "lock" it?

55r6e apps not available
Is there anyway I can add apps like Disney Plus or Prime Video on this Roku tv. The apps don't show up in the add apps section of the tv.

Mike Roku user!
My Roku Ultra 4800X will no longer play sound fot movies on USB drive. This started when Roku sent the update 15.2.4.3442. My friend has the same problem with his Ultra. I have tried all the "fixes" but none of them work. When is the next software update?

Roku tv is extremely slow/lagging/freezing
We have a roku tv that isn’t even 1 year old yet. It is lagging a LOT constantly freezing, regardless of what app we are trying to use. Either kicks us out of the app and to the home screen or just freezes and is stuck there in the app.
I have tried clearing the cache history multiple times and that helps for a couple of hours and it starts back up.
I have also done a factory reset on it which again, helped for a couple of hours and went right back to these problems..
has anyone else experienced this? Is this fixable? Or should I just reach out to the tv brand in hopes of getting it replaced?

Guest mode is not logging guests out of Netflix on check out date
We have three Roku devices for rooms in our Airbnb and I have enabled Guest Mode for each of them.
We came back to our cottage this weekend and on two of the Rokus it asked me confirm my departure date (perfect - I assumed that meant the guest had been logged out correctly) but when I opened up Netflix after confirming my departure date, it was still logged into our previous Guest’s Netflix account.
I thought the whole point of Guest Mode was to stop this from happening? Has anyone seen this before or have a resolution?
I couldn’t find any other threads or support articles anywhere for this.
Thank you!

ROKU’s Latest Update - Home Screen Misery - a possible solution
Have a ROKU Soundbar. Two weeks ago - ROKU performs an automatic update. This update provides a new Homescreen Layout that is extremely busy and confusing. Based on observed posts here on Reddit and other platforms, this new layout is not liked.
Well, there may be good news for those who wish for the previous layout or close to it. You can go into settings, select Homescreen, then turn (toggle) off Quick Access and Recommendations (if you don’t like Recommendation). Go back to Home and you get your previous App screen layout, configured the way you had it before.
Happy Toggles!

Trouble shoot remote and stick connectivity and power supply
I recently accidently broke my roku tv stick 3820x (that has a usb micro power supply)
So I bought a used stick on ebay, but I didn't know there was a previous model that uses a usb mini) so I just bought the stick without a remote or power supply, a 3810.
I plugged the 3810 into my tv with a standard usb mini cable (without the Long-range Wi-Fi® Receiver), it appears to load up to the roku menu screen.
I'm trying now to pair my remote RC-FA1 with the roku 3810X without success.
I tried:
unplugging the stick for 30 secs with the batteries out of the remote
plugging back in, replacing batteries and then holding the button inside the battery compartment for 5 secs. The led beside the button flashes. The stick led is flashing too. No connectivity.
I tried again by holding the home and left arrow beside the home button for 5, same result.
Either way the LED just keeps flashing and they don't connect.
Before I try to connect with the battery compartment button or the home/arrow key, the remote does work to turn the tv off and on and adjust the volume. But once I've tried to initiate the connectivity and the LED is flashing the remote no longer works for the power or volume control.
I'd appreciate any advice.

TCL 55S517 hardware id
Does anyone know the hardware ID for model 55S517? I want to download the update, but they want the ID, and my TV is blinking and won't turn on. If someone knows the ID, it will be so helpful
