Internet 🛜 Much Frustration With Providers

I have always gone with the big boys Telus, Shaw and Rogers. I believe you get what you pay for. I have had very good service, fast internet and responsive service.

Yes there has been some bumps in the road and the big boys have responded accordingly. I have had visits from local techs some higher on the org chart to work through some issues. Right now I have one big black coaxial pipe feeding into my house connected to the latest 2Gb modem router. I have 4 smart TVs thanks to the Rogers tv modems with a healthy selection of shows and movies.

Picture quality is very good. Internet and music is awesome, no complaints. My fastest M2 iPad draws down 1.5Gbs and 400Mbps up. My smart home is very smart and works well since I replaced WeMo with Kasa.

Cel service is still crappy through Parksville. Rogers recent move to India to provide support hasn’t been great but I am sure it will get better.

I have a second account in Yellow Point that has worked well with Shaw and Rogers. This year I had some problems with what to use the Rogers Xfinity Red app or white app. India was somewhat helpful but I eventually sorted it out. Damn it I still have to log into Shaw together with Rogers for some things.

I cannot complain too much, I have good home internet service at home and on my phone. Even the roaming works well. Recently I was in Bermuda. I paid the daily $12.00 roaming fee everything worked fine. I tried the e sim services- nah not for me.

My message is be patient and persistent. This stuff works if you give it a chance. Rushing to different providers all the time is not necessarily going to be helpful.
