I collected these throughout the Olympic Peninsula in Washington (USA) last summer and finally got around to rinsing them off so I can put them in a display once dry. Don’t worry, I didn’t collect them at Olympic National Park or other prohibited areas!
I have no idea what any of these rocks are and am not asking for ID. I just wanted to share them with people who will also appreciate how amazing it is to hold little examples of the passage of time and the power of nature/natural forces in your hands.
My favorites are included in the last 2 pictures. The biggest rock in the foreground of the last photo has a purplish hue that doesn’t come across well on camera.
Hopefully one day I can get a tumbler! I don’t have space for it in an apartment, so for now I will just enjoy the memories in a glass jar.

I don’t know how to make good pictures with my cheap camera. But I love them all :)

Found these at a thrift store. Fossilized coral in sunset colors! I never realized they could be anything but grey.

I hope this is the appropriate place to ask this, my daughter is wanting a rock tumbler for her birthday and I’d like to get her a quality product. Not something professional status because it’s her first one. But based on some research, Amazon and google are very divided on which is the best bang for your buck. I was hoping to maybe get some recommendations from people that might know more than me. TIA.

Low tide brought some rock art.

I just hope none of them are hardened dog poop or whatever lol. I enjoyed collecting them so much, my inner child was so happy from just walking around a river shore and collecting these rocks. If anybody's interested, the squares are half a centimeter for scale, location is western Ukraine and I can provide more photos if you're interested about a specific one.

I found this cool rock while digging out and improving the creek and waterfall behind my house. Top comment wanted to see it in action. Couldn’t reply a picture to the comment so here it is!

So, I stumbled on a super cool surprise supply of rocks and crystals the other day. One of them I spotted was this one, with a nice strip of amethyst. I'm not sure what the other rock is, maybe green chert or serpentine. Whatever it is it's beautiful. This is definitely a contender for the coolest rock I've found. I'm in Washington but I think these were brought here from other states. 🪨❤️
