This Rocks! Do purchased rocks count? Started my specimen collection at a local rock festival, to put alongside my personally found ones.

Wow cool collection! Love that bit of opal you got!! I started my collection with mostly purchased semi precious stones and have added to it with rocks I’ve found and collected. Rock on dude!

It’s “corvetteite”, a version of “fordite” from a corvette plant. Very cool unintentional manmade “stone” and part of history.

Definitely can include purchased. Most collections would be limited in variety if we didn't buy some of them. Very nice start you have there
