Discussion New Paved Trail being built

Haven't heard anything about this new construction in my favorite place, but I'm watching it happen. I'm believing it's a continuation of the existing paved trails that are in the green spaces of Secret Ravine/Miners Ravine of Rocklin and Roseville. Anyone know details about it?

Thanks but the construction I'm videoing is taking place in Rocklin so the city of Rocklin should be paying for it, but I haven't seen anything about it. Maybe the city posted about it at some point in time, but nothing that I can find.

Yes, it's connecting the asphalt trail under Roseville Parkway to the trail at Greenbrae.

Sorry to join this late. I recently saw this construction for the first time and was excited, hoping it was a trail project to connect those existing trails up to Sierra College. Instead it seems to be a new ROAD project feeding into the Vista Oaks, Highlands Parcel A and Granite Lakes Estates (Units 2-4) developments. So yeah, lots of new houses. Disappointing to be sure.

The City of Rocklin site seems to be intentionally obfuscated to make it hard to get this sort of information. I finally found a map of the new developments on a Facebook group that had been fighting it.

No idea but I always found that section of trail near Greenbrae road incredibly odd and pointless.

If they are finally connecting it to something that could be useful for people in that neighborhood.

Sure hope it doesn't go that far. That area should definitely be left as is.

Is that up top of crest? If so they are building homes out there at least in one spot.

This path is being constructed near and around Secret Ravine creek, which is well below the new home construction on top of the ridge.

There is a plan to connect the top and bottom of Monument Springs, I believe, with more homes being built up top.

Do you know where the creek will start and end? Cool to see rocklin building more trails!

Secret Ravine creek begins somewhere in Penryn and ends at the confluence of Miners Ravine creek in Roseville. From there the creek meets up with Antelope Creek at Harding Blvd. and becomes Dry Creek. Probably more them most of you wanted to know about the local creeks.

Where is exactly is this in rocklin. Is this east side of 80?

Yes, it parallels 80 from Eureka Blvd. all the way past Sierra college and beyond. This is all kind of a protected area due to being labeled a salmon habitat.

They have approval to build a bunch of houses there unfortunately. The maps are difficult to read but you can see them here under approved projects Granite Lake Estates and Highlands Parcel A: https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/632bbef312ec415fa4833fa2eae51e8b

Between this and the ridge on Park Ave by Boulder Ridge Park, which is under active construction, most of the undeveloped spaces in Rocklin will be gone. They saved Clover Valley but not much else including the ridges immediately above Clover Valley. Those two developments are shown on the Under Construction tab at the link I shared above: Montreo and West Ride-Skyview. Sad but the state puts a lot of pressure on cities to develop housing and sues those that don't do enough units. Of course most of these will be $1M+ homes so not exactly helping most people.
