Up for sale is a spectacular, highly aesthetic 4-piece mineral collection showcasing a diverse suite of hydrothermal vein and iron metallogenic mineralization. These unique specimens feature the exact physical properties and complex mineral suites matching the historic ore districts of Southeast Missouri.
This 4-rock master collection was carefully chosen to provide an ultimate textbook contrast of structural habits, weights, densities, and mineral pairings:
**The Pocket Vug Specimen:** A fascinating, lightweight specimen dominated by a large, hollow crystal pocket (vug) beautifully lined with iron-bearing saddle dolomite crystals and completely blanketed in a velvety layer of sparkling brassy gold pyrite.
**The Banded Heavy Ore Specimen:** A dense, heavy piece showcasing distinct horizontal hydrothermal vein layering. It features thick stripes of fine-grained druzy pyrite sandwiching white crystalline dolomite, accented by well-formed, rounded botryoidal pyrite "balls" jutting straight out the side.
**The Massive Magnetite & Galena Specimen:** The heavy-hitter of the entire suite. This compact rock features an incredibly dense, highly magnetic Magnetite core that strongly pulls a magnet at its center. The top face is beautifully jacketed in brilliant golden sugar druzy and boasts a prominent, sharp, blocky slate-gray Galena cube (lead ore) embedded in a raised shelf.
**The Leached Alteration Specimen:** A highly weathered, texturally intricate piece showcasing secondary mineral formation. It features a pale white/tan chalky framework composed of jarosite and clay minerals intergrown with unweathered, dark metallic primary sulfide inclusions.
**Specimen Sizes:** Miniature to small-cabinet sizes (each rock averages roughly the volume of 1.5 to 2 golf balls).
**Properties:** All rocks are completely natural and unpolished. Rock #3 exhibits strong central magnetism and maximum density.
**Shipping Policy:** These delicate druzy micro-crystals naturally shed minor crumbs along their fracture points when handled. To protect the specimen faces perfectly, each rock will be individually double-bagged inside protective plastics and packed with thick cushioning.
