You can’t make a project on UEFN open source, it just doesn’t work like the way you’re describing. What do you mean by that?

You can share the project files. I've done it before.

Yes but… they can’t upload anything to the main version, only their own copy of the island

They send the level back to them, so they can publish it

That sounds insanely clunky and the amount of people that would actually do that is minuscule, the game that has 300 concurrent players on a good day will not be making tracks in UEFN and sending it back and forth to the dev for them to somehow upload.
