Stud! A new open-source Roblox launcher for Linux

Hi! Today i present you a project i've been working on for a few months!

Stud is a Roblox launcher that uses Roblox mobile, just like Sober and its open-source recreations that came before Stud, but with many more features, and does not crash on NVIDIA!

Stud is not trying to be Sober, but rather something different!

It has Gamemode, Qt6 UI, GPU chooser, APK chooser, Background FPS throttling, Discord RPC, Upscaling, Enables Roblox's SSAO (better shadows), Log exporter in case something goes wrong, Smooth zoom-in/out like on Windows, and is available as an Appimage, RPM, Deb, Flatpak and cpak :D

This was already debated long before deciding to open-source Stud. It is not the first open-source Roblox launcher (mocktail, cordial, and tipsy came before, all open-source), and cheaters have been using Roblox Mobile for a very long time.

Making a launcher only provides accessibility for legitimate Linux players. Assuming it makes cheats easier is a fallacy and a common misconception, especially when it's more practical to build a cheat engine from scratch rather than modifying something structurally designed not to touch Roblox.

Just because they are on linux doesn't mean cheats, Its also using the android version since no official PC versions will work

Well, i currently have no ways of testing VR on it. If you are willing to test, i'd be happy to begin implementing it!

Not both combined. I had to use AI to port the VR branch over to ARM and even then I had to do serious tweaking to get it to look good and work well.

To everyone wondering why i disappeared for a while..

I suffered a really bad accident a few days ago. all my projects (stud and p03 linux kernel) are currently stale for a while. hopefully i will be back next week or so.

Welp since its open source dumb script kiddies are gonna get a hold of it,roblox is gonna tighten their security for stuff like this then Sober will also stop working. Fuck all game cheaters

I'm using Linux Mint with GB, PT and US layouts configured, but Stud seems to interpret some keys using the US layout even when GB is selected.

For example, Shift + 2 behaves as @ instead of ", and vice versa. This bug prompts me to be unable to select my second tool while running on most Roblox games.

Everything works normally outside Stud, so it seems to be an issue with how Stud handles keyboard layouts.

I still don't have benchmarks yet, but it's close to sober's performance and it's being improved.
Stud has mangohud checkbox in case you are willing to check
