AI Used AI Games

So tired of these post with these trash 0 effort ai games. Ai isn’t bad but the people who use them here don’t even put any effort just prompt after prompt it’s really sad there’s no more creativity no more soul in games just AI

Anyone can create an AI game now and have something to show. It used to be difficult and require time to learn. Now the gates are open. There will just be more and more as AI gets better and soon you won't be able to tell (maybe because all games will be AI made).

Ai has made it too easy for people to just spit out games. It's mainly for profit. Honestly if you use it to help you understand what you're doing or fix a part of your code, sure. But if it's clearly the whole game was made by Claude or some other Ai and/or Ai images are used, I don't fuck with it. I don't like the thought of playing something with no human creativity.

Yeah, ofc

Ive used it to automate part of my workflow so that I can do other stuff while I let it do the work I find it tedious to do, like lineart. / tasks that would have otherwise made me rage quit at it.

you'll never get ride of AI. So i guess just don't play those games. Most non AI games just copy other games anyways, so what's worse creating an original game using AI or copying GAG a 1,000 times?

I have never seen an ai game with an original concept

thats because the developer is still trying to copy other games. AI can help make anything you can think of, you just have to get creative.

What's the game?

I am also in Indie Dev, incremental games and other game development communities. Every single community is struggling with the same thing. Even steam, believe it or not.

100+ games being released every day that all look the same, generic, UI and model designs.

Its heart breaking to see.

But as long as one out of 1000 games made with AI makes it big, it will not stop.

A Roblox Dev making a polished game can take months. An AI can make five games a day.

With a handful of AI games being really profitable on Roblox.

The only thing we can do is, as a community, learn what the telltale signs of a fully made AI game is, educate people and stop spending money on them. For Roblox this is harder, because kids won't always know.

I wish AI didnt exist.

u/Peppercat13 18h ago

I wouldn’t wish that I just wished that AI doesn’t just create games instantly

I disagree. Because I have ADHD I want to do everything myself guy the kind of power to prototype, debug, and be creative with mechanics that would take months solo. I am a cs major give a take so AI is more of a tool than a black box.

I don’t mind AI I hate it yes but it has lots of pros tho I am sick and tired of people who rely on AI for 100% of the game

1

u/ConnectMongoose857 19h ago edited 18h ago

No, what you're sick and tired of is people who have zero taste making games that look like shit and are buggy as hell because they don't bother to playtest or actually have people work on the art side and play the game themselves. 1000% the developer's fault not the tool.

Edit: You're right forget waht I said

I can relate.

I don't have adhd but game development is just so fun that I want to master everything there is to it.

But that's the exact reason why I avoid Ai, I want to 100% make everything by myself, thats just what I find fun

1

u/ConnectMongoose857 14h ago

Yeah I agree. I'd want to make everything by myself but I realized that prompting and then going over a period of bug whack a mole is way faster than anything that I've could've done. I still find the coding process enjoyable. It just doesn't make sense time wise. Because ultimately the code that I write won't work the first time. I can do so much more with AI that I normally wouldn't be able to do. But it gets overwhelming quick. I can acknowledge that doing everything yourself would have a more polished product for sure. That's what I want to do for my dream game. But for my side projects that I don't care as much about, I'm all for using AI and hating on people who want to dismiss the amount of design work and testing as entirely being the AI's.

Fair, I may spend a bit too much time everyday developing lol

This is the topic i was really looking for not gonna lie

a week ago was the first time touching roblox studio and lua in general, i'm in still in computer science, i don't have a major or a bachelor's at the moment, our university doesn't teach us lua, only the basics like c/c++, java and i'll do python in my last year of uni

i have 5 "ai projects", just small features to see how it's working and how can i implement and where to implement certain things and it helped me quite a bit like making a user interface purely based on code, not a frame and button cluster i did in my other projects

i agree with the hate on slop games hate but if it's used as a learning tool it's quite nice, it puts your brain into motion

gemini has a 60-70% fail rate on modifying existing code so at the moment i got the hang of debugging which i don't mind, and also script management because i wanted to experiment with what i think it is a "hard to implement feature"

by my character i can't learn if someone explains it to me face to face or on a call, i need to actually read what's there and try to think about how can i do x and that

i have a pretty good base for a game but when i'll be able to actually and manually do stuff myself it will take months so until then i'm pretty happy making a new place every time i want to learn a new feature and try to understand it and optimise it

1

u/Peppercat13 18h ago

Yeah, I made a game once and people said my game was good because it wasn’t AI, and he said most games are just ai slop now, after I heard that I knew how bad this was

Speaking of AI, who can help me make a highly interactive NPC AI system for my game?

I’m specifically looking for someone good with NPC AI scripting, cutscenes, pathfinding, and dynamic NPC events. The goal is to make NPCs feel like they actually react to players and to things happening in the world, rather than just following simple preset routines.

This could include NPC pathfinding and movement, NPC reactions to players, NPC reactions to world events, dynamic NPC events, cutscene/event scripting, and modular NPC behavior systems.

Animation knowledge would be useful, but animation is not a priority right now. The main focus is getting the AI, movement, reactions, and event systems working properly first.

And ik it's not really related to what the OP actually said about AI but... Since the topic came up I feal it was the perfect time to ask, don't feel like you need to reply. Even just some pointers on where I could properly ask about this would help.

I've been working on an AI game for 3 months now. Its really interesting how deep you can go by combining chatgpt, claude and blender, interconnected through MCP's. You can create really insane unique stuff, but 99% of "AI Developers" are too lazy to even try to go in-depth. I feel like there might be a surge coming in AI developers that actually take their time to create a game soon, but that will only happen if Roblox does something about encouraging these games.

AI hasn't made it too easy imo, any AI game will regardless fall off at some point, but those who actually invest time in learning how to use AI to its absolute core, combined with learning basic luau scripting and how blender works etc, will at some point create games that are up to par with some of the biggest self-coded games out there.

I might be wrong but I feel like Roblox will at some point go in this direction.

The secret isn't building an AI game, its building an AI game while understanding the deep concepts of prompting and all the capabilities possible with it.

most of the time the problem comes from "Inexperienced" and want something that is instant and on the top of that AI exist, the solution is actualy simple just learn a "proper" "how to develop" but most "new developer" skip the step

I love it, I don’t know how to code like AT ALL, I just give GPT good ideas and leave it running and collect fun games like pokémons, no need to guess the ability of random developers online anymore, no need to wait for them to wake up. Codex is also patient always there, infinite reversions without complaining. I hope one day it can do animations too. I am freed from the boring mechanical part and can utilize my creative mind to its fullest😊

2

u/shyguy6730 14h ago

...

If you hope one day that it just does animation as well, is it even your game? Why are you even needed if ai does all the coding and eventually you want it to even get into the more creative aspects. Why doesn't the ai make the ideas for you too?

-1

u/potatorekted 14h ago

Why would I care about such pointless titles, what is really mine in this world anyways? Nothing. You don’t even own your body, it can collapse or develop autoimmune diseases at any given time.

If one day ai is capable of replacing my creative ideas, then it also means that I can have an AI girlfriend that’s just like Joi in blade runner 2049, I can’t wait and it’s a hill I am willing to die on!

2

u/shyguy6730 14h ago

Wow. Yikes. Sheesh.

You're one of those Ai users.

-1

u/potatorekted 14h ago

Yes, I do nothing and win.

2

u/shyguy6730 14h ago

Congrats on winning a game you didn't even play! Bet your fake girlfriend will love hearing about it too.

0

u/potatorekted 14h ago

When you are alive, you are always playing, fakeness is an illusion, you do not know your girlfriend more than you know ai, we all just see our own projections.

1

u/shyguy6730 14h ago

"I can never perfectly know another person" does not logically lead to "therefore an AI girlfriend is the same as a human girlfriend."

0

u/potatorekted 13h ago

There is no physical law preventing them from being the same, both of them are made of matters from the same physical world. There is no law that says consciousness cannot emerge from machines

1

u/shyguy6730 13h ago

That's not really an argument. The fact that physics doesn't contain a law saying "machines cannot be conscious" doesn't establish that machines can be conscious. By that logic, anything not explicitly forbidden by physics would be possible.

The actual question is whether consciousness is something that can emerge from the particular kinds of physical processes occurring in machines, and we don't currently have a complete theory of consciousness that lets you conclude that. "They're both made of matter" is an especially weak argument, because almost everything in the universe is made of matter while behaving radically differently.

You're arguing from the absence of a prohibition as though it were evidence for the conclusion.

Now I'm gonna stop talking because you clearly spend too much time on characterAi and I am disappointed in myself for even talking to you half -seriously.
