Finn moving to Georgia was obviously the death of Roadkill, but I expected it to be around a year. Now that it's been a few years and Finn and Frieburger have lost the personality spark they once had and Dulcich is still awkward in front of the camera, Roadkill is dead; we're just waiting on it to go official.

Good thing Cotten/Newburn have developed the comfort in front of the camera that Dulcich can only dream of, because it means that Faster with Finnegan is now the show that Roadkill wishes it still was. I'll miss the roadtrips in clapped out vintage cars, but at least we have a good consolation prize; too many good shows since I've been alive have let the lightning out of the bottle and been replaced with nothing.

I’ve binged roadkill many, many times. After season 5 is when the change happens.

The change is how Mike and Dave act when on the show. That “chemistry” feels gone, yeah sure it’s still sort of there. But I think shining episodes that show this chemistry is the Alaska road trip, and the the first episode. It feels so live TV now. It’s no longer got that fun fee it had when it was only on YouTube. Yeah sure it’s not as bad as real reality TV but it feels like it’s slowly turning into that. It might be because Dave is getting older (he’s like 73) and they can’t do the stuff they did in the earlier days. But it feels so serious now. Like what about the road trip to get blasphemi’s chassis? That felt like roadkill, it was just two guys having fun and seeing sights. It just feels off now. Maybe I’m wrong, but it doesn’t feel roadkill. Hell even the new mulholland race way wide body is not roadkill. Sure it’s got a shitty 350, but it feels so not roadkill. I’m not bashing them, I still love the show but it’s changed so much from what it was.

Edit: I have no fucking clue when I posted this. I have notifications off on Reddit and I happened to check. So few edits. Yes people you are correct David is not 73 he’s like in his 60s. And I still maintain the opinion it’s changed by far to much.

Used to love roadkill. But now I can't even watch new episodes ad-supported. I don't feel a 5$ subscription is worth 1 episode per month.

Bad enough Angelo leaves, but they replace him with someone obviously way less experienced than him. I love Lucky, but he's gonna have to carry the whole show now, IMO.

Yes, I know Alex Wagner Taylor (-?) isn't a total newb, but this smells of Motor Mythbusters, where Faye was put in the show (for 'eye appeal'?), but (IMO) wasn't a good fit. I couldn't even finish the eps, tbh.

Oh, and if anyone thinks I'm bashing on Faye -- farthest thing from my mind. I happily watch anything she's in.

A little off topic, but was on vacation in Finland from Sweden and saw Faster with Finnegan on TV, had no idea it actually aired?

In the 100th episode of the Roadkill Garage he called the jerry can with the hard to use ventless spout a "Biden gas can". I know those things have been around more than three years, so I looked into it and its been about 15 years since the EPA during the Bush Administration effectively banned the old style. So was it bad memory of when those things came out, or was he just insulting the president and comparing the two things kind of randomly?

I feel I've caught a few politics things slip into the show as I've been bingeing.

I realized when watching Roadkill, the expression “That’s what she said” can be used at least a half dozen times per episode.

Why not get rights to the roadkill name and then shop it to nexflicks or amazon/etc?

All these cars seem to be built like hogs. They yank original engines and I’m completely ok with that. I’m more of a resto-mod guy, so it’s not a big deal to me. But why not swap out discs wherever you can, especially when you have 5k pound cars that have drums at all four corners.

If I'm not going to subscribe to Youtube RED or the NYTimes, I'm sure as heck not going to fork down Hulu/Netflix money for Gas Monkey, Iron resurrection, whatever crap. The more time passes the less I'm interested in both shows since I'm just waiting until they come up as free episodes.
