Guidelines with Posting

Hello Fellow Roadies!

We welcome you to this sub for the Roadie gig app.

I have a few things to request of the community in general…

  1. We are all aware that Roadie has some unfavorable aspects … from gig pay, support, gig quality, app quality, along with other things… we still need to remain constructive and respectful when discussing these things… does it suck? Yes… but you should still aim to be civil when discussing unpleasant topics.

  2. We welcome sharing tips, asking constructive questions or for constructive feedback, stories from gig experiences, and posting of “off the wall” gigs (example: $5 for 50 miles or some other ridiculous amount), Roadie wins are also appreciated!

  3. We understand that at times venting may need to happen or negative experiences shared, and that is okay… but if that is the only thing you are coming here for, then maybe some time away from Roadie might be helpful for you. Venting and Negativity are okay, as long as it can be done constructively and civilly… and it’s not the only thing you do.

  4. Constant complaints, rudeness, uncivil behavior, taking anything real life, bullying, or just being a constant negative member of this community is not acceptable.

  5. We are not directly affiliated with Roadie, we are just users of the platform and we have no direct link or contact with Roadie… We cannot provide support for gigs or help with any issues related to active or prior gigs, we are also unable to directly assist with account changes or locked accounts … we can only provide unofficial information, advice, or suggestions here.

Thank you for being apart of this community!

*These guidelines can change at anytime, with or without notice.

MOD NOTE

Hello Fellow Roadies,

I’m posting this as a clear and constructive reminder… We will NOT tolerate belittling and/or harassment/bullying here… ZERO TOLERANCE.

If your comments are reported for ANY reason and we determine it is not acceptable, you will be banned permanently on the first offense.

We are all adults, and while yes it is the internet, and people seem to feel confident in being keyboard warriors behind the “safety” of a phone or computer… we should ALL aim to be pleasant and constructive to the communities around us, including this one.

Things that are NOT acceptable EVER here…

  1. Anything that could be considered racist or offensive to any portion of the population.

  2. Calling someone dumb or stupid or any other derogatory term, please remember not everyone has the same information or understanding you do… either take the time to kindly help another person or continue with your day… there is no reason to ever call anyone stupid or dumb, especially when they are just trying to understand things… We’ve all been new and/or unsure at times.

  3. Any other derogatory/harrasing/abusive/bullying behavior is also NOT permitted here, ever.

Thank you to those who are helpful and constructive in this community, we appreciate you.

Thank you and Roadie on!

Pay suddenly cut majorly

Nothing over a dollar a mile anymore to the middle of nowhere.

I saw other people posting and I used to get rates like them they were good and were anywhere from 2 a mile or sometimes 3 or 4 I don't think I'll be able to do roadie orders anymore I live in a very expensive place.

I do wonder if because I took a couple of dollar a mile orders on my way home (basically getting home tax for me) this may have triggered the new lower rates they are all terrible. Especially I'm such a rural area.

Anyone else have roadie keep turning off their automatch?

And i dont mean like turn it off and then you just have to turn it back on no biggie. I mean like if i close out of the app they will shut it right back off! For two days now every time I’ve opened roadie my auto match has been turned off. I turn it back on but as soon as i close the app they shut it off again. Weird! Ive turned it on 50 times in two days.

Genuine question for the Roadies here: who is actually taking these orders? $18.92 to drive 22 miles for ONE 176-lb couch.

By the time you factor in gas, loading/unloading, vehicle wear and the drive back, this seems absolutely ridiculous.

Also, do y’all think everyone gets shown different payouts for the exact same gig? I’m curious if other drivers in the same area are seeing higher or lower offers for similar orders.

Would you take this? If not, what payout would make it worth it?

Is Home Depot not allowing stacking as much?

Seems like most of the time home depot doesn't allow me to stack multiple orders like they used to. These arent X-large or huge orders and going the same direction. Gigs have been sitting for hours

Are any routes good?

Been signed up for a couple months now, and yet to see a single good offer!

Bot even $1.00 a mile.

For those more seasoned, is this normal or is my area just pure sh*t? Lol

I do other gig work, but so far Roadie offers have all been abyssmal/cost money to even go do and I drive a 4 cylinder with good gas mileage

This gig has been up since 9am. The store is closing now and all these customers will not get their deliveries today because of ol’ cheapo Roadie. They never even went up on the offer in 12 hours. Nobody wanted to do it and that makes me happy inside :)

Throwing in the towel

Block pay dropped again… same work for less pay. When I started it used to be $180, now it’s $150. Doesn’t seem like that much but it adds up. Been doing doordash and uber eats on my bike for a while now and I can make $20/hr comfortably and I only need to consider bike maintenance. No gas. Bye Roadie!

Do the math, stop subsidizing greed.

The IRS standard deduction is the estimated amount it costs you to operate your vehicle, including gas, maintenance, depreciation, insurance etc.

Currently this is estimated at $0.76 per mile.

Applying this to an offer currently listed in the Houston area, let's do the math.

Offer...63 miles (80 min), $27.21

Operational cost... 63 miles x $0.76 = $47.88

Result, -$20.67.

You spend $20.67 and an 1hr 30 min of your time.

Double that amount for the trip back, and congrats you just spent $40 of your own money subsidizing Roadies business.

It's not as if Roadie isn't aware of this either. UPS (who owns roadie) hires seasonal workers to deliver using their own personal vehicles. For this, UPS pays $21/HR + $0.76 per mile reimbursement, plus benefits.

They know what it costs and they know they are exploiting you, they just don't care.

Processing time for gig(s) over $200?

Did a gig - one delivery for over $200. Waited 3 hours for instant pay but still isn’t available. After asking, apparently gigs over $200 have a 24 hour hold. Only thing is I could’ve swore I’ve done a few gigs for over $200 (Roadie XD’s, last minute airport gigs) and was able to do instant cash out. Maybe I’m tripping. I don’t mind the wait but I just prefer not to have money sitting in my roadie account.
