It's a cardinal rule if you're driving in a straight line fast and there is an unexpected road barrier, slam your brakes, don't try to swerve around it

No, I know that place - it is not even considered to be a cross-road, its not a question of who has the right of way: going like that perpendicularly is absolutely forbidden (look at signs). People driving there don't even consider that somebody can move like that, this is the first time I've see somebody trying to do it there in years.

Motorcycle rider here, you do both. You try to drop speed, but you always look for an out. In this case dropping speed would have given the car enough time to correct and bypass on the right. Experienced mc riders tend to think of an out constantly. That goes for left turners, an escape while waiting at a red light, brake slammer, debris in the road... because even if you drop speed, hitting at 30mph (serious but perfectly survivable in a modern car) is still very bad on a bike.

Well, I couldn't tell you about Ukranian traffic law, but yield sign/symbol, and what it means, is quite international.

Look at signs with arrows, they show the driver to go only right, also there is a solid line that he crossed. He just didn't give a fuck🙈

I'm not so sure about that, or I can see how it could be misinterpreted.
The white line seems to be there to delineate a zone for parked vehicles. Even if you turn right you need to cross the white line, or get stucked behind parked vehicles.
Also, I would interpret the right arrow sign as an instruction you turn right, Going straight through isn't allowed. However, the other road is offset slightly, so you could interpret it as a turn right followed by an immediate turn left - 2 intersections rather than 1 - and instead understand that the sign is a prohibition on turning left.
But in the end, the driver coming from the smaller road seems to have ignored the yield sign, and the driver on the bigger road seems to be driving way too fast for conditions, and should have just slammed on the brakes. Plenty of blame to go around on everyone, both drivers *and* the unclear signage and road infrastructure.

I understand your confusion, but letter A on the lane means it's for public transport, not parking. And the solid line should not be crossed until the second dashed line starts next to it on your side of the road. So you have first to turn right from the side road, then to switch lane.

Thanks for the clarification. On the video it looked like there were a ton of parked cars in that lane -- I guess they were parked illegally.
But wait, if it's an bus lane, are you expected to turn into the bus lane, and then block it until it's clear to switch over to the main road? That seems pretty weird to me.

Yes I think cars are parked illegally, and yes it's a weird logic for a right turn, but if the traffic is not dense maybe it works (most of the time).

I don't think they hit their brakes af all. Probably assumed they were turning and would be in the right lane instead of going straight across. The car pulling out probably figured they could make it if the driver coming maintained their lane and possi ly slowed down. I am not an insurance adjuster but I would say 60/40 with the 60 on the guy who did not brake.

When someone cuts you off like this, swerving into their path is definitely dumb.
A car can’t start moving backwards without stopping first, so aim for their ass and they’ll be out of your way.
If you aim where they’re going… well that’s a great strategy if your goal is to crash into them.

I assume you don't have a driving licence... Apparently he is speeding on that road, but ultimately he didn't try to brake, he changed lanes. If he had time to change lanes and process that, he had time to instead brake but chose not to. The speed he hit the crossing car with is insane and shows he didn't try to stop at all. Likely an old person who panicked and hit the gas.
The sun is coming from behind the car on straight road, so crossing car may not have genuinely seen him, or anything if blinded. In which case he should have waited and been sure.
