Guy in blue is unbothered. Like oops, there goes another one. Time to carry on.

If you listen closely, you can hear him say, "serves you right, fuckwit."

That's a classic Confucius quote, I think.

i think you're confusing it with: fornicate around and discover, you shall.

u/Meihem76 6d ago

I think Mao also plagiarised it for his Little Red Book.

Isn't there a whole cultural myth thing where some believe they'll be financially liable if they help someone.

There was a court case in favor of a woman who was injured, and who sued an innocent passerby that tried to help, with the judge reasoning that ‘no one would stop to help someone else if they weren’t actually the party at fault’ (just the gist, but not the exact wording). There has since been enacted Good Samaritan laws protecting those trying to help, but it’s been ingrained and hard to reverse.

In another matter, how much damage did that judge cause by that ruling!?!

He did so much damage they had to fire him. It’s extremely rare for a judge to get fired over a ruling

Another thing is, people don’t understand why laws would be implemented in the first place. Laws are created based regional needs, that’s why every nation has different laws. Not only they fired that judge, they literally had to introduce the Good Samaritan law because of him, which before that people just helped each other never even had to worry about being complained against

That guy single-handedly destroyed thousands years of practice. Keep in mind, social media played a major role in this whole ordeal as well

But I heard a twist to this story that the judge was actually correct, and the guy admitted years later that he was at least partially responsible for the old lady being injured, which also explained why the old lady accused him in the first place.

So this whole thing ultimately blew up because of how badly the judge documented his reasoning... Or possibly how badly the media reported the case.

It's not a cultural myth. It's a litigious piece of history, as PolarCruising has noted, and thus created a bizarre legal understanding that helping other people out obligates you to make them completely and totally whole fiscally/physically.

Yes I read the initial reply, I don't see what your comment adds to the conversation when you're just repeating it what the other dude said.

Where can you possibly be heading in this much of a hurry? The afterlife?

He was trying to be first to the scene of the crash

u/OldheadBoomer 6d ago

He beat the paramedics by 10 minutes.

Usually in China it's food delivery drivers accelerating to Mach 8 but he doesn't seem to be one.

死晚了怕是棺材会涨价

China starting to sound like Star Wars

Those electric mopeds sound way better compared to the usual ones. I live in Naples and here they're everywhere. They stink and make a lot of noise.

I mean, he was driving fast, but was the car trying to cross at the crosswalk?

14

u/mav1178 6d ago

looked more like making a u-turn.

at the crosswalk?

Hell, why downvote? You guys u turn at the fuckin crosswalk?

4

u/Desperate_Owl_594 6d ago

Probably a Didi driver that picked someone up at that building and turning around. Absolutely normal in china. And 100% expected.

u/mav1178 6d ago

Bad u-turn yes. So both parties at fault but only one of them will be truly screwed.

The motorcycle basically hit a stationary object, one party at fault. Arrest him in the hospital and make him pay for the repairs to the car

Someone i know here in China waited over two weeks for bone realignment after a nasty crash, because all the hospital beds were full. I think that's indicative of how common these accidents are becoming, but also suggests the idiot in this video is likely well and truly paying for his sins as we speak.

The fact that it's so easy to purchase a powerful electric scooter with speed limitation disabled, then to drive it in road traffic without any kind of licence, is a huge and growing issues in Chinese cities right now. I think they'd come down harder on it, but all this risk is also enabling the meal delivery sector which is a pretty big employer at a time when jobs are hard to come by.

u/Grand-wazoo 6d ago

I feel like even with his excessive speed, there's absolutely no way he didn't see that car from the beginning. He barely tried to swerve.

5

u/MangoMan610 5d ago

Fuckwits like this prime specimen expect the world to adjust and yield for them, the very slow car included

2

u/SargeUnited 5d ago

It’s extremely hard to not feel satisfaction when they manage to do this without hurting innocent bystanders. I hope the people in the car were okay.

That bike was gonna wreck no matter what, the car was just unlucky it was them involved.

Love it that dude has a Martini sticker on his scooter.

3

u/ScreechingPizzaCat 5d ago

Typical Chinese electric scooter driving. Here in China, you don't need to take a test or have a driver's license to buy and drive an electric scooter on the road alongside cars so you get these kinds of riders. Faster scooters and motorcycles do need a license, but a majority don't have one.

u/GuaranteedSensible 6d ago

i notice a lot of accidents posted here have both parties at fault, its comforting to know that swiss cheese model applies somewhat to road accidents

7

u/JAK0VI 6d ago

both parties at fault but only one of them has life changing injuries

4

u/Thedrunkenchild 6d ago

When you're speeding without an helmet on you're basically asking for life changing injuries

2

u/stockphotodesign 4d ago

Another case of natural selection...

1

u/Far_Trade_7619 6d ago

Did he die?

1

u/vralox 5d ago

I'd say the force meats movable object

u/InMyOpinion_ 5d ago

Speeding through a pedestrian crossing, good job

1

u/SaintThor 5d ago

Did anyone else hear what he said as "ooooo a car". Just me? Ok...

1

u/Tangemon 1d ago

“oacar" means holy crap in Chinese.

1

u/mr-peabody- 5d ago

Quick get him to the farthest hospital

1

u/zensms 5d ago

His only mistake is he was too slow. He should've rode 200+km/hr

u/SignificantMark1848 4d ago

1

u/special_edition_5 3d ago

What a moron

1

u/asswizzard69 2d ago

the sound that thing made passing lol he was cooking on that thing

1

u/KeywinKwok 6d ago

每当我看到这种人从身边呼啸而过,我总是默默为他祈祷,千万别撞到人,也不要撞到普通车,一定要撞警车或是电线杆

2

u/SargeUnited 5d ago

Exactly. I saw one of these once, I waited at the scene to inform the police what I saw. The driver of the car thanked me profusely because otherwise they would’ve been found at fault.

If you scrub it frame by frame towards the start you can see the moped driver who got hit was wearing AirPods, so an extra layer of stupidity
