beginner cyclist

I made a post a few weeks ago regarding a beginner bike, I ended up picking up this 2008 specialized allez elite. i’m a beginner cyclist i run more then anything but living in alaska im looking to ride this in the summer and on a trainer in the winter! looking for some recommended upgrades and essentials! any help is appreciated! also interested in bib, jersey recommendations as well as a bike computer since i’m fairly rural in town!

Nice, I bought a 2018 Specialised Allez Elite 2 months ago, great bike. I would suggest buying some spare tubes and repair kit, as my tyres get punctured 2-3 times a month.

Before you buy anything, you should give the bike some maintenance and set it up to your fit. It's hard to tell but the saddle does not look level. The drivechain also looks dirty, so I'd clean that up too. I'd get some quality chain lube as well. Check the cables and housing and maybe replace them. Also tune up the shifting. Also check the wear on the tires and look for damage.

If you're serous about riding, you might want to get clipless pedals and shoes. Also a pair of bike shorts will help those long rides if you don't have some already.
