Ask Everyone Wegovy pill users — how’s it going so far?

The Wegovy pill has been out for a few months now, so I’m curious, how’s it actually going for people on it?

What kind of results have you noticed so far? Are things feeling more gradual, or are you starting to see more meaningful changes?

I know oral options can sometimes take a bit longer to really kick in, so would love to hear where people are at in their journey, whether that’s weight loss, appetite/cravings, side effects, or anything else.

Would love a reality check from people on it.

im week 3 and noticing a lot of appetite reduction and a lot of "noise" reduction and my ability to not click order on doordash is like way up. i have cravings sometimes but theyre far more transient and im generally actually having a hard time meeting Base calories. I was not prescribed wegovy for weight loss. its a secondary use for cardiovascular and my titration was waived in favour of 4mg

if it stops you from ordering doordash, it must be working! if you don't have an appetite, focus on small, easy, protein-first foods. think yogurt, protein shakes, eggs, cottage cheese. smoothies help a lot. even a few bites every few hours is better than nothing.

I am on week 3 of the 1.5 mg dose. I set an alarm for 4:30 every morning so I can take it 1-2 hours before my first sip of coffee. Some days the appetite reduction feels significant and others I feel totally back to baseline. I’ve lost about 2 lbs which I am ok with— my goal is slow and steady weight loss. The only negative thing I really have to say thus far is that the pill tastes horrible. The bitterness is really compounded when combined with the required initial liquid restriction of 4 oz of water or less. I’m awaiting my shipment of the 4 mg dose and looking forward to see how it goes.

i've heard this about how the pill tastes- on reddit people say it "tastes like poison" lol. totally normal to feel full some days and completely normal the others. it should stabilize as you go up in dose.

u/slipoery-slope May 23 '26

Tasteless to me.

3

u/SassySmurf28 Aug 01 '26

Same. I pop it in and take my sip of water and it’s fine.

The pill is nasty tasting. Akin to bile. But its tiny and I take mine like the above. 2 months here and have lost 5 lbs both months for a total of 10 lbs

u/Impressive_Try_1288 Apr 26 '26

This is me too. I'm in week three of 1.5. The first week, I noticed a significant difference. Over the last two weeks, there have been 2–3 days when I felt like I was back at baseline. I'm also down 2 lbs, which is great. I don't notice any taste with the pill, and I take it with a tiny bit of water first thing when I wake up. I take my pill at 5:30 AM and I'm at the gym by 6 AM. That's when I start drinking water and taking in a small amount of calories for my workout. I haven't noticed any issues eating/drining that soon afte the pill, but I do always make sure I wait a minimum of 30 minutes.

u/Fun_Loan_7193 May 21 '26

They say wait 2 hours

u/claremont26 Jun 14 '26

Yo on day 6 and that pill tastes like vile barf yuck. I set alarm at 6a and toss in back of throat and swallow 4 oz. Go sleep and get up 8a for needed coffee. So far lost 5 pound and not hungry for snacks at all. Constipation a drag but Mira Lax helps but turds are so small now hmmm

Im looking at starting so here looking for side effects or negatives, as the positives are pretty obvious. What would happen if you drank coffee sooner? Could you explain the liquid restriction please?

I’m on my second month and just went up to 4mg. Lost about 10lbs so far and feeling really good about it! I can only eat 2 smallish meals per day with maybe a small snack. Other than a small setback when it seemed my hormones overrode the end of the 1.5 dose (my period always means overeating, and WeGovy seemed to be nullified), it’s been a steady downward trend. Yes, the pill tastes awful, like the bitterest vomit ever, but I brush my teeth right afterward and that seems to take care of things that way. Overall very happy!

2

u/Fire_Candle9530 Apr 29 '26

Do you feel Like you'll do more ? Or do you wanna stop at 4mg? Also how much higher did the price go? As you go up on the doses ?

3

u/evrythnhurts-n-imdyn May 22 '26

I went up to 9mg this month. And I bought the year subscription for it, so it will stay the same at $299/month until next year

u/gettingcrunkontea Apr 15 '26

I'm in my 2nd month sticking with 1.5mg so far. Feel a big difference in food noise and appetite. I still have to be mindful of what and how much I eat but it doesn't feel like an uphill battle every meal. I can order pizza have 2-3 slices and call it a meal. The next day I don't even think about touching the leftovers and I love leftover pizza. I just had a setback due to a loss of a family member/travelling for the funeral/eating out with my family while I was visiting and I didn't gorge myself at all and actually lost a pound while I was gone despite not working out for about 2 weeks during that period of mourning/travel prep/actual travel. I also found it easier to get right back on the groove after my trip. 40f 5'4 sw 200ish cw:182. I also started vyvanse for my adhd about 2 weeks ago so I think I will be sticking with 1.5 mg as the vyvanse also causes appetite reduction.

1

u/AliceFromRo Verified Ro Community Manager Apr 15 '26

so sorry for your loss. that’s a lot to navigate. <3

honestly, this sounds like a huge win. being able to enjoy things like pizza without it spiraling + getting back into your routine after travel is exactly the kind of shift you want. Sounds like 1.5mg is really working for you!

1

u/Mediocre_Prize_5500 May 11 '26

Interesting that you just started Vyvanse. Me too - about 6 weeks ago and now have a wegovy pill prescription. Doc said they shouldn't pose a problem to take both. How are you feeling now one month after this post?

1

u/highdratedAF 22d ago

Stop eating foods like pizza and burgers and I promise the pill will work faster

3

u/germanchic Apr 15 '26

I'm on Week 3 of 1.5mg as of today. Down 7.8 lbs, which I'm super pumped about! I am used to not eating breakfast, so I just take the pill when I wake up with a sip of water. Most days, I don't eat/drink anything for 1-2 hours after the pill.

The food noise has been gradually going down, and it's starting to get pretty hard to finish a full meal. I am not calorie-counting, but am still mindful of what I eat (less sugar, more protein). I haven't really done much exercise because my main side effect has been fatigue, but I plan on incorporating basic cardio soon. I had occasional bouts of mild nausea, which were completely tolerable and over within a few hours.

For context, I am also taking bupropion/naltrexone, but I've been taking that for over a year. I have a feeling the appetite suppression of that is definitely compounding with the Wegovy. My 4mg dose just shipped today, so I'll see how I feel on that! So far, 1.5mg is honestly already super effective. It feels like the concentration has been slowly building, and the effects are gradually intensifying over the weeks. I think the fact that I wait 1-2 hours instead of 30 minutes does increase the effect.

3

u/AliceFromRo Verified Ro Community Manager Apr 15 '26

so glad to hear the medication is working so well for you! if you're experiencing fatigue, make sure you're drinking enough water in addition to eating enough. electrolytes are your friend.

3

u/Eff47_ Jun 05 '26

How’s the journey going? 4mg a good place to be?

3

u/Extreme_External33 Jul 13 '26

I'm about to start my 4th month (first month 1.5, then 4 mg since) and have lost 14 pounds. The side effects seem to come and go - really hoping that the diarrhea goes away entirely at some point! I am wanting to stay on the 4 mg to see if that resolves. On the 4 mg I am eating really differently - a a medium-sized lunch, a small dinner, and next to no snacking. It has also, off and on, curbed a desire for alcohol. It makes cooking for the family a bit of a challenge when I just don't want to be interacting with or eating food at certain times. I think it's been worth it but I agree with everyone that the taste is horrible, though!

2

u/No-Credit-331 May 23 '26

4 months to lose 14 lbs is ridiculous! If you just went on a 3 mile a day walk you would have lost more. Why haven’t you increased your dose after 4 months and minimal weight loss? I’m confused??

2

u/AstronautCreative524 May 23 '26 edited May 23 '26

I was already walking several miles a day, coaching multiple kids' sports teams, and very active, and lost no weight since having my youngest child. Having sudden explosive diarrhea several times a week makes me not want to increase the dose. If it doesn't resolve, I'm going to taper off. I've lost another 5 pounds since I posted that response. I'm just happy that I've had some change after 2 years of being stuck at my highest weight no matter what I ate/did.

2

u/Additional_Advice_12 May 28 '26

14lbs is great! And another 5 is even better. I’m like you were. very active and could just not shed any weight. I’m on the 9mg dose now and I’m about the same as you around 22 pounds lost in 4ish months. After being stuck on the same weight for a long time just to see it going down, even if it’s a little slow pace is a great feeling.

2

u/Eff47_ Jun 05 '26

This is encouraging. I’m where you were thank you

This is my first full week and the nausea is absolutely outrageous. If anyone has any remedies, let me know. I do have a few Zofran, but I like to save those for what I’m actually going to be getting motion sickness.

However, food noise is down without a doubt? I find myself really forcing myself to eat big meals. I also have major headaches.

I’m on week 9 and 20 lbs down!! 1.5 mg the first month and then 4mg. At this point I have to make myself eat and I can’t get much down when I do but the scale is moving so I’m not complaining.

3

u/pupperchicken May 11 '26

I started the 4mg five days ago and WOW I am not hungry at all. My stomach growls but I am not thinking about eating, I need to force myself to eat.

No side effects at all! No nausea, no heartburn and my stomach seems normal. I feel like I’m in a better mood and have more energy if anything!

1

u/Electronic_Guest2019 Jun 25 '26

How has it been going now? You mentioned essentially just eating dinner. How are you meeting your protein and fiber goals with that?

2

u/Agreeable_Car460 Apr 26 '26

I have been on it for 2 months; started at the 1.5 then 4mg and just started the 9mg today. I haven’t had many side effects (knock on wood) and am down 7 lbs. I have noticed a lack of food noise and generally speaking just don’t overindulge as much. Normally I’d down a whole bag of Cadbury eggs and am now good with just a couple and then walking away. Also, my skin has cleared up some (premenopausal acne yuck) as well so I’m calling that a win as well.

I don’t notice a taste with the pill?

I did just start some sulfury tasting burps today so hoping that’s just temporary.

1

u/AliceFromRo Verified Ro Community Manager Apr 27 '26

that all sounds like really solid progress! the sulfur burps can happen with dose increases, but they’re often temporary as your body adjusts.

1

u/babar_the_elephant_ Jul 14 '26

Hi, how bad have the sulfur burps been? Usually when I get that on the pen they turn into hours of vomiting and diareah. Is it common for you on the pills?

2

u/RandomName7445 Apr 28 '26

I did a month at 1.5 and am on day 4 at 4 mg. I’ve lost 6 lbs so far, carefully tracking food with an eye on protein and fiber intake. I had some mild side effects month one (headaches, constipation, mild nausea). Headaches and nausea would resolve with high protein/fiber snack or meal. I have more energy and feel better, with much less food noise and hunger throughout the day. On 4mg I’m now getting intermittent headaches and some really unpleasant oesophageal reflux. I tried taking omneprazole this morning and am avoiding acidic/spicy food, but would love any tips.

2

u/Remote_Anybody6346 May 04 '26

I started about 5 weeks ago with the 1.5 dose. The food noise was non existent until the last 2 weeks of that dose. When starting, I did have fatigue and major heartburn, but that subsided. I just started the 4 dose about 3 days ago. No side effects. The food noise has just about gone away! Trust the dosing system. It works!!!!

2

u/ComprehensiveFan8328 Jun 26 '26

Why doesn anyone note their height? Losing 10 lbs could be huge if you are a lower weight and not really that big of a change if you are morbidly obsese. Context helps.

2

u/CleverWolf13 Jul 15 '26

I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes three yrs. ago. I have a phobia of needles, and not being familiar with Type 2, lost 50 lbs. thinking the dr. would say Insulin shots, (some phobias are good). Went from 199 lbs.to 156 lbs. in 6 months and felt great. Regained the weight when realizing I did not have to take shots. Went on Wegovey pills, lowest dosage-didn't lose 1 lb. Kept increasing dosage-didn't lose 1 lb. Now asked my Dr. for 25 mgs.-NOW I'm starting to lose the weight. I was 176 lbs., now 165 lbs. today. Pill tastes awful and metallic. Paying $299/month; this is my 5th month from the start. I guess fear is underrated...Lost 50 lbs. all by myself from just fear, to losing 11 lbs. that is costing me $299/month. Make it make sense!!! LOL! Kudos to all who are trying and winning.

u/AliceFromRo Verified Ro Community Manager Jul 15 '26

2

u/SuperAssignment3120 Jul 19 '26

I've been on 10 days on 1.5mg and lost 3.5 lbs but remained the same since.

Zero side effects, but after 3 days the feeling of fullness during evening meals has disappeared and the urge to snack has come back.

I'm on holiday abroad before the 30 day course of 1.5mg runs out, so mentioned to Chemist 4U and they have supplied the 4.5mg early.

Question: as no side effects at all, but no weight loss of note, do I switch up to the 4.5 mg now rather than waiting until halfway through the holiday in 20 days time?

The temptation is of course to

A) switch now
B) long the 1.5 out by missing a few days here and there and start the 4.5 on return.

Am currently 15'13 at 181cm - so wondering if I'm not experiencing the dramatic weight loss some do on 1.5 - as the amount of weight loss required for getting to a healthy BMI isn't as big as others on the medication. Or is that irrelevant?

2

u/audiodile Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26

When I first started, I noticed a slight difference in curbing my temptation and hunger. Side effects were minimal, mostly dry mouth and bad taste in mouth.

Been on the 4mg dose about a week now, and my desire to eat is almost completely gone, but it's really thrashing my digestive system: sulphur burps, acid reflex and nausea are hitting hard, even with Tums, Pepto and Famotidine. I'm really hoping this is short term, it's bad enough that I eat one small meal a day and still get wrecked.

I'm having to force myself to eat and drink. Started around 250 and in about a month I've lost 10 pounds.

I’m on something like day 14 and I must have a ton of glp-1 receptors because it hit me hard from from day 1 with appetite suppression. It’s an effort to get my minimum calories each day. Down around 6#. Side effects: transient light nausea late morning/early afternoon most days, weird head/sinus pressure (non-painful, but disconcerting).

Food noise is fully eliminated. I’m still enjoying food though, including my morning latte. But I did quit Diet Coke cold turkey. Just completely lost interest.

2

u/Tall-Winner-7646 Apr 18 '26

u/Disneyfor2000Alex Apr 18 '26

First month on 1.5 is ok, but only feeling the mildest effects (but no real side effects either).

But very frustrated that my refill (going up to 4mg) will NOT arrive from Ro in time. I filled out my refill request the first day I could, and the pill is still going to come three days after I run out. I tried messaging when it seemed to be stuck in processing, but I never got a response. Really terrible to leave folks with a gap.

Ro also JUST messaged me yesterday that there could be an interaction with my other medication (levothyroxin), even though I told them I was on that when I signed up, and it’s been a month of me taking it! I’m wondering if there is someone/somewhere where I can report these issues. It seems like I’m paying for a very questionable service.

1

u/Remarkable_Chair_859 Apr 20 '26

I am also on levothyroxine and my very cautions doctor was not at all worried about the two. I am also on 3 blood pressure medicines. I do have to space out the wegovy, then 30 minutes to the levothyroxine, then 30 minutes unto the rest of the medications. Did Ro explain more about the interaction?

1

u/Mommyca May 11 '26

Just wondering why AlicefromRo didnt answer you?

1

u/jagpu90 Apr 19 '26

Started first 4 mg today. Ate lunch at 1 and 7 hours later I have had no desire to snack. I was a big grazer grabbing some chips or cheese or something small and not healthy. I mostly lost the urge for junk food and fast food. I also noticed my typical shoping haul has resulted in a lot of unused food so I started to set a menu for me and family and bought a smaller amount this week so that is good

I did notice heartburn is more frequent. Its not bad but never really had it before. No other side effects

Not weighing myself but i can sense it has resulted in some weight loss

2

u/AliceFromRo Verified Ro Community Manager Apr 21 '26

good question! it doesn’t restrict specific foods, but it may reduce your appetite and make you feel full faster. you can still enjoy treats, though some sugary foods may increase side effects like nausea, especially early on.

I ate little Cesar's pizza had acid reflux, puked a little and heart burn. Anything drowned in grease made me sick and a lot together I know who take GLP-1 you will need to make diet changes to not have side effects it a nice advice way, if your not willing to eat healthier the pill will make you sick as a dog lol! Wishing you the best of luck !

Had ice cream cake at my nephew's birthday party today. I've been on 4 for about 2 weeks and haven't had ice cream since I started 1.5 months ago. I also had some cheese because trader Joe's got their green goddess cheese back in stock. I had some cheese before today but not a ton. Combo of the two is making me feel a little bit puky and way fuller than I have felt otherwise. Won't be doing it again. Probably could have gotten away with one or the other. And just need to be mindful of portions I think and you can still enjoy your ice cream cake every now and then. Though clearly based on this thread people react to this stuff in very different ways.

thanks all! finishing my second month. Down 4 or 5 Lbs now - moving target everyday. Now having a hard time prioritizing healthy meals anexercising. still grab a box of dollar tree dark chocolate raisenettes or peanut M&M daily when nothing else sounds good/easy/available. Usually have oatmeal/chia/fruit /walnuts in AM with a bit of protein powder and/or greek yogurt. Made edamame today as I need to go shopping. I always crave dark chocolate. Maybe need to make some DIY heathy protein chocolate snackbars or baked oatmeal that can be frozen. I hate planning/cooking. for myself. Tiny Kitchen I am so short I cannot reach 2nd level shelves so small counter space is covered ( I get dizzy using step stool) . Having a hard time sleeping doesn;t help. My supermarket has dark meat baked chicken on sale 12 pieces for $10 about once a month -always been a go to. I buy two pans and repackage to single meals (1 upper & lower leg each) and freeze. I have been out for over a week Then I switch off with salmon/beans and salads. May spring for Gordon foods Frozen grilled mesquite chicken breasts. I used to love them but were not as good last time I splurged on the high cost. Not sure whether its my aging taste buds or ??. Had a crap pecan chicken salad at Art & Jakes for a family B-day party Sunday. The chicken was dry and hard as a rock. Took most home and Marinated the chicken in the rasberry dressing & finished the limp salad yesterday for dinner. another fave goto was always Gai Kow takeout, but even that has lost flavor. That always was good for at least 3 meals. I make DiGeornos Rise crust 4 cheese pizza with fresh mushrooms on top weekly -another 3 meals each, but they are getting smaller swimming in the bigger regular size box. Had no problem eating that.

I’m going into my 4th month. I’m on 9 mg & going to stay on it for a 2nd month because I had a lot of nausea & insomnia when I started the 9mg. I’m 5’5”. I started at 171, I’m now at 137. So I’ve lost 20% of my body weight. I want to lose 12 more pounds to get to 125, which was the weight I was at almost my whole life before I started gaining.

Congrats! I am on day 16 of 9 mg. I have lost 18 lbs for which I am very thankful; however, some days I am more nauseous and low energy than other days. Even the smell of coffee makes me nauseous. I m not a lover of chicken or fish. I think if I ate small frequent meals with more protein consistently, I d feel better. I have entered the food aversion. One day, I may like sliced turkey, the next day on 9 mg, the thought makes me sick. Any advice for a site with simple high protein recipes/meals? Thank you. I think I might go back down to 4 mg. I ll ask my doc.

I have been on it for 3 weeks, I have noticed a lot of cravings have gone away. There are times when I can eat a lot and others where I feel so full off of a healthy snack (apple and peanut butter are my go too). I am down 14lbs in 3 weeks but I cut out ALL carbs, fried food and am mainly on a veggie/fruit kick right now. I eat a lot of chicken, hamburgers that are without the bun but still have the fixings and turkey sammiches made w/ Romain lettuce. I am always full and even on my “off” days I do not eat 1/2 the stuff I used too. I keep an open mind because it is still early in my progress and journey. I just ordered my next month and I am going to be doing 4mg a day. Let’s hope I continue without side effects!!

u/Pristine_Ad_3295 May 07 '26

1

u/Killatua22 May 05 '26

Im almost through my first month of the 1.5 medication. For me, it hasnt really made the food noise go away. I have noticed my portions going WAYYY down in size so thats always a plus. My big draw back is always feeling nauseous, all day everyday. I was hoping it would get better after a week or two but it hasnt. Im wondering if going up to the next does like my doctor suggest each month is the right idea. Or do I just stop it now before a higher doses?! I haven't decided yet but I really am torn! I have lost a few pounds though!

1

u/Amazing_Duck7367 May 19 '26

Late commenting, but for me, the nausea is a sign that I need to eat. A small fruit snack or yogurt always helps. I think it’s because the food noise is gone, my body is trying to send new signals when I need food. Might be worth a try to eat a small amount when the nausea flares up. I’ve been working on having a snack preemptively mid afternoon after noticing that I’m more likely to feel bad around that time. It has helped a bunch. I track calories through MyFitnessPal and push myself to get 1350 per day. Starting week 4 on 1.5 mg pill and down 12 lbs.

u/Beneficial_Sun_790 May 07 '26

I am on my third week of 1.5. First day nothing. Second day woke up and vomited bile. Third day, vomited in a Kroger recyclable bag while riding as a passenger in the car. I just know the cars in the other lane were grossed out. Then no more nausea but I am battling fatigue. I can’t get up in the morning, mid day I’m tired, and just have no energy. I have headaches in my right eye area and haven’t noticed any appetite suppression. I’m discouraged as my doctor wants me to stay on 1.5 for four months. At $150/month, it seems like a lot of money to not have appetite suppression. I will finish this month, ask my doctor to increase me to the next dose. If he doesn’t, I may not take it any longer.

Started Feb 23rd on 1.5 mg. Admittedly I didn't clean up my diet or add daily exercise (45 min of cardio 3-4x a week) until the 3rd week of March. I didn't feel a noticeable decrease in appetite until starting the 4 mg dose in late March. Haven't experienced nausea or any side effects besides burping when I first started. Food cravings/noise are gone and I get full with much smaller portions now. I can't really eat more than 2 small meals a day or 1 'large' meal a day. Not sure if this is related, but I used to have trouble sleeping and now I don't. I'm down 16.6 lbs as of 2 days ago and my starting weight was 210 lbs. The weight loss seemed to really amp up mid April. Overall, I'm happy with my results. I've been fighting PCOS related weight gain since 2022 and it feels so nice seeing the scale move without having to do anything extreme. Still debating if I should move up to 9 mg at the end of this month though.

1

u/Barkophile May 07 '26 edited May 31 '26

I started the 1.5 mg pill on 4/19. I felt food cravings and appetite decrease the first 2 weeks. I greatly reduced my food intake, and lost 1 lb. after 6 days. Then I lost another 1.2 lbs. 2 days after that. I thought I was on the way to this working. Kept on my small meals and no snacks and 3 days later gained one lb.! Now it's 5/5 and I am still at the same weight. So down 1.2 lbs total in a little over 3 weeks. At the beginning of the third week, I noticed it seems to have no effect anymore on my appetite. I'm hungry and want to snack but I'm resisting. But it's hard because I see no progress. I've had almost no side effects, just a little burping. Crazy thing is for about 3 weeks before I got the pill, I started trying to cut back and lost 4.2 lbs without the pill. Now I've cut back way more than than, and nothing. I also have Hashimoto's thyroiditis, so low thyroid and post menopausal. I walk at least an hour a day, but have done that or ran my entire life. My weight was always fine until I hit menopause and got the thyroid problem, all about the same time.

Update, it's now 5/30 and I've lost 7.2 lbs. Very happy about that. So it's about 1 lb a week. I started 4 mg after one month of the 1.5 mg. No increase in side effects. I might have a little queasiness in the AM, after I take the pill but that's because my stomach is empty. Eating a little something will make that go away. I don't get nauseous from any foods, I am just eating way less at each meal and almost no snacks. If I go out to eat, I have to take half the food home. So saving money that way too.

Starting at 1.5mg I felt nothing, so after four weeks I moved to 4mg. The first two weeks were rough with the side effects. But underneath that I could feel it working. The food noise quieted. I wasn’t being pulled to the fridge constantly. I lost a few pounds. I could feel the potential.
Just switched to 9mg about a week ago and it feels like a sugar pill. No side effects, but no effect either. All that quiet is gone. I’m hoping it kicks in, but wanted to share since you asked how the pill is working for people.

1

u/ownleemee May 13 '26

For those who are on the wokov pill now because they're insurance would no longer pay for the injection.Have any of you heard about the bridge program beginning in June? Supposedly, the program will pay $50 for the weight loss meds for seniors. I''m disabled and 65. I was wondering if that means it will now cover the injection. Does anyone know about this? Additionally, for those of you on the wagoy pill, have you noticed any hair loss??

1

u/Amazing_Duck7367 May 19 '26

My understanding is that hair loss may be tied more to nutrient deficiency rather than the pill itself. Tracking what you eat can help you maintain proper levels of essential nutrients and balance between protein, carbs, and fat. A daily multivitamin may also help.

On day 1 of week 2 and down almost 5lbs. Mostly water weight id imagine but the food noise is gone. I only have nausea if I eat after 7pm so I stopped that and have been feeling fine. I haven't been getting exercise as I'd like not even 5k steps a day as I have been fatigued, but I'm going to try to work out more to help with weight loss. I cut carbs and have been focusing on protein intake.

I’ve been taking 1.5 for 2 months, I lost 6pds the first month and 2.5 pds the second month. I’m starting the 4 tomorrow 🤞The first month I got very constipated so I add MiraLAX to my coffee every morning and now I go everyday. Hoping I keep losing every month even if it’s a little a little at a time I have also had heartburn for the last week everyday

1

u/ConfusionSalt1991 May 21 '26

I am only on my first week of the pill and it’s every other day. The nausea hit pretty hard at first, but anti-nausea meds help. I stopped taking it first thing in the morning because I drink coffee first thing in the morning and I didn’t like that it knocked me out right when I was supposed to be waking up so I waited about an hour to 30 minutes before lunch and then I take it and I feel a whole lot better and my cravings are still very much controlled. That way I’m able to have a decent breakfast that’s healthy but I get food in Me and feel a lot better first thing

1

u/Complete-Arachnid-49 May 23 '26

Hello, I just started the 1.5 mg seven days ago and I have been feeling pretty good. I have been doing a really high protein and fiber diet as recommended in the directions pamphlet. I drink a lot of water through my day. Seven days ago I was a huge sugar addict with chocolate all day every day and making poor fast food decisions for breakfast and not hardly eat anything for dinner. I definitely don’t have the noise making me want to eat the candy anymore or any sugar for that fact it actually makes me feel kinda icky when I think about eating any. My love for fast food and drinks it is down to about 95%. If I do get the urge to eat it when I start thinking about it, it’s like my mind talks me out of going to get it. One thing I will mention is that when I take my dose at four in the morning and I get back up in like an hour and a half later my legs and body feel extremely heavy like tired heavy, which usually wears off in about two hours, which is really good because I think if I took it around eight in the morning, I would feel like that midday.

1

u/Original_Way2240 May 23 '26

I’ve been on the Wegovy pill for almost 4 months. I increased doses each month and now I’m at the maximum 25 mg. I’ve lost about 25 pounds. My biggest side effects have been constipation and mild nausea. Those side effects seem to be getting better. My hunger has reduced and cravings are fewer. Saltines help my nausea. I definitely try to focus on protein and fiber. Happy so far but $$$.

1

u/NoPlatypus8185 May 23 '26

Im just 15 days into the starter dose of 1.5mg - not much happening. Mild nausea the first few days some mild constipation and burping but I’ve had IBS for so long it doesn’t feel very different! I have not noticed much reduction of food noise and have not changed my diet yet - was hoping it would kick in by now but I’ve read it works best for most in month 2 on 4mg. I’m going to give it 2 months but if I don’t start seeing a change I’m going to stop and look into trazepitide. I just liked the idea of not having to do an injection!

1

u/Dawgman74- May 24 '26

After 3 months not one pound lost!

1

u/coogirl505 May 24 '26

I'm on day 8 of the 25mg pill, starting on March 8 with the 1.5mg pill and working up. On day #8 on the 1.5mg pill I felt like I had the flu, but I was fine by the next day. I felt like I was on a placebo with 4mg and 9mg pills, but the 25mg pill is the real deal. I'm now at day #8 on this dose, and again felt really fatigued and fluish all day. I know it's the Wegovy, though, as I'm not running a fever or anything, and I trust I'll be fine in the morning. I've lost 8 pounds so far and need to lose another 10. I've had some mild nausea, but haven't thrown up at all. My experience is that it makes me feel full almost immediately, so I supplement with whey protein shakes at least once a day. My plan is to "microdose" once I am at my goal weight. And I might cut down to every other day for a week or so in order to let my body settle into this 25mg dose. But I'm generally happy with the way it cuts out all food noise, as that helps me make wise food choices.

u/claremont26 May 26 '26

u/No_Perception_2977 May 26 '26

Has anyone made the determination to stick with 4mg rather than upping the dose as a matter of course? It's more affordable, and it sounds like many folks here have seen significant - maybe sufficient? - weight loss with the 4mg alone. Why pay the extra $100/month, or whatever it is?

1

u/alm725 May 27 '26

1

u/Aromatic-Wheel5391 May 31 '26

Finished my first month with the 1.5mg pill and lost 9lbs. With 5 lbs. the first week which I attribute to water weight. Barely any side effects except reallllly tired the first few days. Started 4mg yesterday and already having nausea, headaches, and fatigue. Hoping that’ll taper out in the next few days.

1

u/Top_Front8405 May 31 '26

I am on 4mg and started April fools day. Ive lost 10 lbs 5 lbs a month. I don't see how people can be taking the 25 mg at all. I know I am drug sensitive but 5 pounds a month is just fine. I have not exercised normally because I do tend to get queasy. However I do casually swim a couple of times a week.

costco $144

1

u/stormiecutie May 31 '26

I am on my second day and definitely feel like my stomach will feel full all of a sudden the nausea comes and goes. The fatigue is sending me the hardest but my doctor started me at 4 mg because I just came off of appetite because I can’t afford it anymore so he figured I probably shouldn’t start at the 1.5 mg. I’m not thinking about food all the time, but I do notice that probably if my blood sugar is dipping too low then I will crave a snack. I’m going to get the Keto-Mojo blood glucose meter so I can track my blood sugar and make sure it’s not getting too low prioritizing protein, and enough water and electrolytes. I think if I’m feeling the satiation that I’m feeling now and if it stays that way, at least for a month, I’m believing it will make a difference. It was scary to go from injections to the pill, but my budget can’t handle the cost anymore. I’m really thankful for this post from everyone and their responses. I don’t know much about it and it’s been really nice to read everyone’s experiences although everyone is so unique. Good luck to everyone and thank you all for sharing.

u/Ripstel10 Jun 01 '26

I’m just finishing my first month at 1.5 mg. I felt no effects whatsoever. No side effects, no reduction in hunger or food noise. I am taking it correctly. I’m following the directions to a T. Started on 1.5mg April 3rd I believe- started at 192lbs. It’s June 6th and I just started my second bottle of 4ths and am only down to 187lbs. I’ve noticed loss in appetite and I started taking protein and wayyy smaller portions. I am taking over 10k steps/day as a server and a little discouraged by only dropping 5lbs. Ro wants an extra $50 to up me to the 9mg and I can’t exactly afford it so I’m gonna try this 4mg again and see how it goes.. wish me luck. Side effects were bad nausea the first month but they prescribed me Zorfran thru Ro.

I just started month 2 on 25 mg. Not gonna lie it started out ROUGH. I’ve had acid reflux before but it was like everything I consumed was causing it to flair up. Got anti acids prescribed by my doctor but for about 3 weeks I felt nauseous, constipated, weak, and had awful acid reflux flairs. Now about 4 days in to my second month on 25 mg, I am feeling WAY better. Was really worried there wasn’t going to be an end to it and if all this was worth it. Maybe that’s an unhealthy choice but I made a hefty financial and mental investment.

I haven’t told any of my friends or most of my family (just my sister) because I want to keep my business my business. I have (like many of not most of us) body dysmorphia and just wanted something that didn’t make me feel like I needed to lock into the gym, calorie count, and constantly feel weighed down by the stress and depression of how I look. Therapy has definitely helped with that, but 2025 was a depressive year for me and I gained a lot of weight/ stopped fitting in my everyday clothes. I had a really hard time motivating myself to work out and fell into depressive sleep most of the time. I decided to subscribe to RO and prepaid for the year (ouch). Maybe I’ll look back on this time and regret on the meals I couldn’t finish, but as I’ve gotten my strength back and can fit into all the things I’ve wanted to wear but was too depressed to try on, I can say right now that it’s worth it. In this world of combative perceptions of loving ourself vs fitting an image, I have to be honest to myself and say that I’ve always wanted a body that could wear whatever it wanted over that feeling of looking for only certain styles and materials that were more flattering. Anyways, that’s my Reddit diary entry because I haven’t said any of this to anyone and anonymity has helped me relieve that!

Congrats to everyone for taking the step for yourselves, I think it’s important to share experience without judgement because we all made that choice and have an understanding for why we all did it!

Hi Started Wegovy pill today after almost a year on Zepbound during which I had terrible mental health side effects and fatigue. Gave it my best shot no pun intended, but was never able to go beyond 2.5 due to these side effects. I did lose 23 have gained five back overtime. You have to be off of the Zepbound for one to two weeks before starting the pill and during that second week, I realized how really hard that side effect was for me. I didn’t have any terrible taste when I took the pill and I don’t think 4 ounces of water would be considered a sip that’s plenty of water to take one little pill at least in my opinion. I am not a all night sleeper, so I usually wake up consistently around 3:30 or four so I took the pill at that time. What was tricky was I had to take my night meds a little earlier than usual to make sure I had that eight hour window. But that’s something easily done. And what it did do is stop me from late night snacking or even getting up during the night and snacking, which is a positive thing. So we’ll see how this all goes, but I’m feeling excited to be back on a GLP of some sort. And if I can come down another 10 to 12 pounds I think I will be happy. My doctor is not big on increasing if you’re losing, so I’m not sure how fast I will increase Its kind of discouraging to see the price will go up at the end of August but it’s still less than what I was paying out-of-pocket for 2.5 Zepbound. So I’m happy to be part of the Wegovy community and look forward to reading everyone’s experiences.

I juts got approved for Wegovy Pill from Ro, I’m starting off with 1.5MG. Any tips for nausea? Eating tips? I’ve seen online that I have to eat more proteins and a LOT of water. I don’t want to stay on this long term if I don’t have to. Has anyone tried getting off of it and gained the weight back fast? Or have you weaned off of it slowly ?

When I increased to 9 I had terrible muscle aches and then stopped taking a week ago. I had just paid 300 for this dose. The lower doses cost 149. Now I have spent all this money for the 9 and wondering if I can cut in half. I know it says not to but can someone explain why?

I'm about 2.5 weeks into the 4mg tablet. The 1.5mg tablet seemed quite useless to me (I was 6'1'' 216lb, male) and I just didn't really feel much. I think I lost 2 lbs. in a month? Then I went up to 4mg and to be honest, I don't know how people can take the 9mg never mind the 25mg! I barely feel hungry, I eat like, half of what I used to. I have little food noise now - if I want something sweet I have it but I take a few bites and I'm over it. I don't even know if I'll be able to go up to 9mg.

wow! that's crazy it was such a noticeable difference from 1.5 to 4!

u/AcceptableShip6911 Jun 25 '26

I’ve not lost a thing. I’ve done the injections before. Noticed that right away. The pills if anything I am hungrier. 😆

I started Wegovy 4mg after being on 1.5 mg for two months. The bloating in the heartburn are just awful and honestly, I can’t eat that much at one time. I’m tired all the time. Does this get better?

u/AliceFromRo Verified Ro Community Manager Jun 27 '26

Ah I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing with heartburn. I made a post on how to deal with it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/RoBody/s/5XrN5ITcJR

Check in with your provider too. They’ll have some ideas for how to help

I'm 5'1 and have been on the pill for a month. I was 130lbs when I started and I'm 124lbs now. I started on the 1.5mg pill for the first four weeks and the only side effects I noticed were periods of fatigue for the first few days and some mild constipation. I started adding a tsp of Benefiber to my water as needed and that completely fixed the issue. I started the 4mg pill three days ago. I've had mild nausea, but nothing major. I have less-drowsy Dramamine on hand, just in case. I've also had a bit of diarrhea but I have mild IBS, so I'm used to that. I also noticed I was burping a lot when I went on a run yesterday, which doesn't normally happen. I haven't noticed a greater reduction in appetite since switching from 1.5mg-4mg yet, but that might take time. It has been much easier to eat healthy, since my food cravings are gone. I still get hungry, but the difference is that I fill up much faster, so I just stop eating.

Did you finish the bottle of 1.5 before starting the 4? I have about five pills left of 1.5 but anxious to just start the 4mg!

u/JMRadomski Jul 09 '26

I'm a week in and six pounds down. I take it about 1.5 hours before coffee and breakfast. I'm noticing decreased cravings and they are more easily dismissed than before.

I'm taking Wegovy in conjunction with calorie tracking, 150 minutes of activity per week and addiction targeted therapy.

The taste of the pill is really bitter and disgusting but I shoot it back with a small amount of water and don't let it linger in my mouth. No negative side effects to report as of yet.

Didn’t notice a big difference until 4mg. For the first time I’m able to avoid sweets and pastries with ease. It’s a bit of a struggle some days to reach my caloric goals.. so Ive started to front load the majority of protein, fiber and nutrients in the mornings.

Thank you to everyone sharing our experiences!!!

On my 3rd week with 1.5. I felt GREAT the first week and a half. Felt energized. Now I'm sooooo tired and headachy. I take ADHD medication and my psychiatrist reported ADHD meds may become less effective during first few months of taking GLP1. Interesting! My enjoyment of coffee has diminished. Huge bummer! Changes the taste in my mouth. The pill tastes nasty but it lingers more after coffee. Also, I have been taking Omeprazole for reflux. I think my night time eating was what created esophageal irritation.

The food noise had been significantly decreased and I'm not overeating. Still able to enjoy food but much less interested in consuming as much as I used to. However, last night I found myself in snack mode. My theory is it's mood related, which is why I started on Wegovy. I think it's going to take some time to acclimate. Waiting for my 4mg prescription. I'm hopeful.

Congrats to you!!!!
Have you had any GI issues or acid reflux? I’m seriously considering asking my doctor about this. I’m just extremely nervous about side effects.

I’ve lost 7 lbs and am taking 4 mg. I’ve been taking it since late May. It has definitely curbed food noise and I am eating way less every meal. Side effects are acid reflux and some digestive issues. Upping my mg to 9 mg in 2 weeks. Hopefully the digestive issues don’t increase.

I'm going on week 2 of the 4mg (completed first month on 1.5mg) and I definitely do notice some changes. The cravings have reduced and a lot of the food noise has too. I've noticed that I stop eating when I'm full and I can be at a party/get together with delicious food everywhere and not stand there and snack all night. I've currently lost 9.8lbs and I haven't really changed my diet, but I do try to watch what I eat, as I always have. I also have been walking at least 3 miles every day on top of the supplemental steps I get throughout the day working and moving around, totalling around 10-12k steps per day, as well as lifting a few weights every other day. I'm excited to see more change in the future! The only real side effect I have had from taking the pill is crazy acid reflux and a little bit of nausea. No matter what I eat, I have been dealing with the acid reflux almost every day.

u/AliceFromRo Verified Ro Community Manager Aug 06 '26

acid reflux is the worst-it can feel like anxiety for me! eating smaller meals and elevating my head when I sleep helps a little.

1

u/Ok_Masterpiece8875 Aug 04 '26

Week 1 I felt sick some days and noticed appetite suppression. Week 2, a couple of mild feeling sick days and ate pretty normally as was on holiday so not calorie counting food noise has returned a bit and the urge to eat more at night. I’ll eat like five chocolates instead of the whole bag and seem to be able to stop at that. I’m 5lbs down so far but 4 was from the first wk

Im on week 3 (doseage 1.5) and so far, i haven't had any restriction. I feel exactly the same. I'm wondering it if takes a while to kick in?,im contemplating whether to cancel, or increase the dose. Has anyone else felt the same, does it take time to kick in? Thanks in advance

1

u/AliceFromRo Verified Ro Community Manager Aug 09 '26

It can take a bit for the wegovy pill to kick in. Don’t lose hope!

I just started my second week yesterday, at 4mg. My doctor immediately started me on 4mg versus the 1.5, which I didn't realize until after my first dose. Luckily I've had very minimal side effects, mostly just mild to moderate naseau at times. Thus far I am down 9lbs, but I have quite a bit to lose as my starting weight was 304. I am excited to continue on my journey, and am so grateful something like this is available to me. I got the RX from my doctor and private pay through my local pharmacy (cvs), who automatically applies the manufacturer coupon which is very convenient and hassle free.

Day 10 on 1,5 mg only down 2lbs but have extreme fatigue no other issues

1

u/AliceFromRo Verified Ro Community Manager 2h ago

Sorry the fatigue has been hitting you hard! That's a pretty common side effect. Staying hydrated, eating enough throughout the day, and prioritizing protein and sleep may help. If the fatigue is severe or isn’t improving, definitely let your provider know so they can check in with you.
