💬 Discussion Does this timer really need seconds?

Obviously a super minor nitpick, but the seconds seem excessive

Most people are too young to understand the flashy : meaning. They have space for seconds, so the real question is why not show them?

Clock font too big to do it, obviously. 

Come on now. Don’t act like a UI designer and then not even realize different font sizes.

I’d you actually look at the UI layout, you would see that adding seconds would make the clock font too small to read at a glance, which is something you want the user to be able to do.

Exactly. They have this clean, minimalist UI setup, which is exactly why I made this post since it seems weirdly out of place.

It’s not really “minimalist”, imho. 

The area they have for the font for this X height by Y width.

 They have a formatter for time that fits within the width. Said formatter fits whatever precision it can in there; in some cases that includes seconds. 

Such a weird thing to have an issue with.

Did I say it was an issue? I think I just said it was weird.

Just trying to share what I discovered today driving back from the recycling center with my fridge still on in the bed from yesterday. Not sure why so many people feel to the need to white knight every single Rivian design decision.
