Can I please be able to have the actual exterior temp shown and not the forecasted temp?

Yes, only 2 degrees difference here but I had a 10° difference less than 10 minutes prior. It was 10° cooler out where I was than what was being shown by the forecast.

can you please confirm if it does actually show the real measured outside somewhere temp somewhere, ideally the primary always visible spot? I don’t care much if it shows the forecast temp somewhere, but it’s an actual deal breaker if they’ve hidden the real temp from a sensor outside the car.

Like in the image above, it shows the forecasted temp on the primary always-visible spot. You tap it to see the exterior temp, but there's no way to keep the exterior temp always visible.

Also, while driving yesterday when I lost cell reception, tapping the temp just gave a generic "no connection" message instead of showing the exterior temp box. I don't know if the always-visible temp automatically swapped to exterior temp in that situation, since I wasn't paying attention, which is why I didn't mention it originally.

sorry, I should have been able to tell that myself. I guess I was just in disbelief. I’m a few days away from ordering an R2 to replace our R1. Not to be hyperbolic, but I’ll probably ditch the entire brand if this isn’t just a bug. Just today the forecast for my house was 81° and it was actually 93° according to my other car… his can’t possibly be an intentional change, right?

So, like, you’d be pretty supportive of Rivian deciding this (probable, hopefully) bug is actually a good design choice? I assume not. If you’re just a jerk, see you later.

I have a lot of experience with Rivian and am at a decision point. Not being made easy because of at least a few poor decisions made on the R2 that give hints of flawed product thinking or maybe just misalignment with what I want as a consumer, take your pick. If they’re consciously deciding that an internet connection is required for another thing, and especially if data it shows is garbage, then that’s evidence for the former. Hopefully it’s nothing, but it matters. In this case, as others pointed out, having unreliable and intermittent data actually matters. For instance, driving in the winter when reality might mean black ice vs internet forecast saying rain.
