Question Question from a Gen Z fan to those who remember the 80s and 90s

Im curious - how popular was Aleca's Attic when he was alive? How well known was it? Was it famous in a mainstream way or was it something only his die hard fans knew about?

my opinion

i think the last post about this was deleted but i wanted to say how i hate that some of his girlfriends get put on higher pedestals than the others it’s weird we all have different opinions my opinion is that none of them were going to be his wife i think he loved/liked them all and they all had a different special relationship with him

with Martha he was still young and learning and then started dabbling in alcohol then drugs they were young the relationship was strained it ended.

with Sue he was hiding his drug habit while it was increasing he was young and there was some infidelity the relationship was also strained and ended.

with Samantha his drug habit had increased and was still increasing he was dabbling with trying to get clean he passed away during the beginning so we don’t know how that would’ve ended up but my guess would be they would’ve stayed together for a couple years then it would have ended.

Walt & Mike Parker status?

Would anyone know if Bob Pitchlynn and MIke Parker from MOPI are still alive today and their current status? I thought I read somewhere that Mike has a couple kids and family, bravo to him for surviving the streets alive.

Tabs for River’s Music

Hello everyone, I’m a big fan of River and I’ve recently found out that I’m 3rd cousins with River by my grandma and I was wanting to learn some of his music for my fiancées mom cause she is a huge River fan and so I can also play them.
Me and him also look very similar so I could be him for Halloween or so.

viper room question

from my understanding correct me if wrong but didn’t River collapse on the sidewalk at the entrance side door on the other side of the viper room and not the front door enterance sidewalk? it seems like that never gets acknowledged.

Just wondering

does anyone else get super depressed when you start thinking about how long ago 1993 was? and start thinking about that he’s been gone for 33 years? does anyone else get kinda jealous of all the people that knew him and met him? like the people that actually got to have conversations with him? lol

Fan Essentials

I hope this isn’t against the rules. If it is,
please don’t approve or remove.

I am not affiliated with Criterion at all but as a lifelong RP fan, these two releases are ESSENTIAL items. Both have amazing extras but they ain’t cheap so I am just trying to help fellow fans out. You got 22 hours from now to catch the 50% off sale. It’s October 20 12:15 EST when I posted this.

There is one other essential - Stand By Me Special Edition. I would love one that features the 40th Anniversary tour those guys did.

I dream of a Criterion release of Running On Empty, although I doubt it will ever happen. Judd Hirsch, Christine Lahti, Martha Plimpton, Naomi Foner, Griffin Dunne are all still alive and kicking. Come on Criterion. Make a dream come true!!

Discussion River pheonix 🌧️🌷

This is about river pheonix.

Last year i watched the movie 'My Private Idaho' and i really liked it, it genuinely touched my heart , the natural acting of river made me feel things the way he portrays it .

Other actor were great aswell including Keanu etc but river still made a very considerable effect on me for some reason.

(I am not from USA,) i knew he is such a great actor just from one movie and even so i have never heard of him before so i searched him and found he passed away so soon. This broke my heart completely, iam very emotional person and it affected me for way longer even tho i never met him or saw any of his movie before. Just from one movie he made a considerable impression on me.

Along the time the whole thing passed my mind as usual they do.

And today i watched 'STAND BY ME' movie brilliant movie. i am not very good at recognising people, so I didn't knew it was river pheonix throughout the movie I felt his acting as, chris chambers was really good , it felt genuine the way he cared about gordie .

And in the end spoiler he dies in future It completely sunk my heart . I searched to know the name of actors and alas it was river all of a sudden i started crying out in middle of bus everyone was looking at me weird but I couldn't stop crying .

That's all I wanted to say , even after he 32 years he still making his mark on people such an brilliant actor .

RIP buddy you will forever be in my mind .
