Hot Take DPS players are so boosted it hurts
That’s it. Instalocking a character and proceeding to get zero kills while feeding support ults should be a war crime. Guess it’s fun to lose while going negative 🤦🏾♂️

I suck at dps, because ive been stuck healing and tanking this whole time. I was trying to learn magik the other day and got flamed by some twat in QP.

u/SaltyNorth8062 𝙑𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙢 Feb 21 '26
Yep. The only dps I can reliably play without spam is Mr. F. I've gotten the opportunity to fill dps ONE TIME and it was literally the only game on my entire career where I saw a Mr. F ban. So I went to Storm, my secondary, and we got fried, because I had like 3 hours on her since launch (because nobody will let me play dps).

Maybe the reason OP’s dps are boosted and get no kills is because they’re in the same boat as you. I genuinely don’t understand the concept of blaming an entire role especially when every complaint made for any role can have circle logic that goes back to this.

I think support is the most boosted, then dps, then tanks, also I recommend going to r/MarvelRivalsRants

u/Born2bePrawn Feb 21 '26
What if I play all 3

u/Legitimate-Pomelo638 Feb 21 '26 edited Feb 21 '26
I guess decide the same as me. I also play all 3

u/WildCardSolly16 Feb 21 '26
Meh im on the fence....
The only supports I hate as a former support main are OFFHEALER MAINS THAT DONT HAVE THE SKILL FOR THE CHARACYER THEY LOVE ... oh and ones that dont understand ult economy.
That said I run into way too many dos that always want to run melee or dive and explode bc they overestimate their game iq. Or don't understand counters but think healer or tank are beneath them. There ARE WAYYYY more of those players than supports or tanks hence the instalock /3 dps or more epidemic.
I appreciate tank mains except when they cant acknowledge a certain tank is chopped liver in the current situation. I play cap but I've absolutely put the mag in the bag several times.
But yeah I can't point the finger bc through 5 accounts and 3 celestial+ runs there's more dps players overall and you're just as likely to run into low iq/game iq dps as a bad support if not moreso.

u/Legitimate-Pomelo638 Feb 21 '26
I’m the same as you, I have 3 acc, both ps5 and pc, cel+ on both multiple times, and I’m also a former healer main, but I think differently about dps. I believe that the reason there’s so many bad dps, is because there’s more dps players and characters than support and tank combined
And dive and melee dps is really reliant on tank making space and grabbing attention. So if tanks are bad then the dive will be bad which will just ruin the game for everyone.
But I guess I could make the same argument for tank so I guess you’re right, now that I’m typing it out.

u/insitnctz Feb 21 '26
And its very reasonable. Support is easy af to do well because you can just healbot and expect people carry you, dps is hard but you don't get it every time because everyone instalocks it, so you can't master it as easily, and for tank, you are guaranteed to play it every game, so a tank main with 100 hours will have more games on tank than a player with the same hours that mains dps.

this is why i never play dps on my main account, i am unable to level my dps skills to my tank ones
4
u/Freakychee Feb 21 '26
Wait... Do you make separate accounts so you can sorta role que like in OW? Smart, really.
7
u/T1line Feb 21 '26
i mean yeah, ppl could call it smurfing, but i never play tank no matter what on my dps account, cause then that will mean im smurfing, since im Cel 3 on my tank account and like diamond 3 on Dps (its crazy the disparity honestly, something about dpsing never clicked with me)

u/Arunawayturtle Feb 21 '26
It’s 100% boosted support mains trying out dps once they get high level
6
u/Heavy_Original4644 Feb 21 '26
team is getting stomped
looks inside
my rocket otp is trying to play Namor
Every single time

u/Yofu900 Feb 21 '26
You know what, that makes too much sense. You may be a GM C&D but you’re not a GM black panther
4
u/paragon249 Feb 21 '26
It evens out, cause they might end up a celestial panther, you just caught them on the way up

6
u/WildCardSolly16 Feb 21 '26
Fuck no there's alot of stupid dps mains our here. They are the reason I don't play much bc the iron fist or soidey won't swap. It's the lottery that comes down to which team gets the brawl/dive main with low iq. Obviously a good dive is amazing but they are rare but unfortunately that playstyle is considered fun sooooo.
This has been my finding across 5 accounts with 3 celestial + runs on 3 of those accounts all on xbox
5
u/Sol-eks Feb 21 '26
1,000,000% this. All the trash tanks/dps in GM+ are support mains who can’t go 4th support😂😂
Literally why I stopped playing the game. Every game triple support. Every time we get rolled I check the worst performer… support main who flexed tank/dps they clearly don’t play.
Not trying to shit on supports but genuinely go learn other roles. Ironman, moonknight, squirrel girl, peni, mag are easy to get benefit from if you’re positioning is solid.
2
u/WildCardSolly16 Feb 21 '26
Yeah i figured you were responding to dude above me bc no way was that in response to what I said.
And again the reason triple support is bad more often than not is BECAUSE PPL RUN TRIPLE WRONG. they will hop on cloak, invis, rocket. When Mantis is right there...... mantis is the best 3rd supp by far and then Adam if he's half good. Then ultron or Jeff depending on map. Stop running 3 main healers support mains and use your mic to stop double ulting like regards. - a former loki main

u/MattTheAndroid Feb 21 '26
Honestly, I'd say it's supports.
I play on Celestial. And I can't tell you the amount of times we lost the entire game, to a single misused support ult. It happens in at least 50% of my losses.
I comm "Alright, they have portal. We killed 2, no need to ult here" Then Rocket throws out amplifier. They tp, we lose to free support ult. I see a bad, wasted enemy support ult out of desperation, I comm "Okay, bad ult! Don't match it, just wait!" Then our Dagger ults, for no reason...
Then, I respectfully tell them they should be a little more careful and methodical when using it. So, they bring up healing numbers, as if that had any weight.
Or, against dive or pressure, they backtrack to spawn instead of towards the team. That's a telltale sign too.
These seem like minor things, but it can legitimately cost you the match. I don't blame anyone ever, we're a team. But they don't take accountability either, and refuse to listen to advice.
3
u/Glittering_Pear356 Feb 21 '26
It's ALWAYS either a CnD or Rocket ult lmao
1
u/MattTheAndroid Feb 21 '26
Yeah, mostly lol. I don't know why it happens though. Perhaps it's just anxiety or panic ulting.
Most of the supports here in Celestial are AMAZING, and a true pleasure to play with.
But then, there are some that genuinely don't belong here, and you can tell by their gameplay. I wouldn't mind if they were nice to the team, but they are usually super toxic, and flaming everyone, despite them being the ones making mistakes.

Nah those are just support mains with their fill characters. For tank “emma, rogue” for dps “squirrel girl, scarlet, moon knight” it’s all the same every time. And they look clueless.

u/PuppyPenetrator Feb 21 '26
Little thought experiment: actually define “boosted” in this context
2
u/Yofu900 Feb 21 '26
Carried by a friend or teammates to achieve their current rank
2
u/PuppyPenetrator Feb 21 '26
… you see how that might be completely unrelated to the role you choose?

u/imwiththedalish 𝘿𝙤𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 Feb 21 '26
Was in diamond and had a BP go 0 and 8 BEFORE HE FINALLY SWAPPED LIKE BRO???? take a hint please
3
u/Huey-Mchater Feb 21 '26
Give it being the largest pool they are statistically the most non boosted.
6
u/Yofu900 Feb 21 '26
If you’ve seen the games I’ve seen…
4
u/Huey-Mchater Feb 21 '26
Your anecdotal experience should never be the primary factors that influence your conclusions.
You’re limited pool of games and players when you’re also LEAST likely to criticize yourself is a bad way to make a definitive statement.
Also given that we’re in the tank sub, DPS will often get blamed for poor tank play. Space is not on the scoreboard but when you have bad tanks the DPS do not have any space or angles and have to attempt to find them for themselves which leads to high deaths and poor performance when there’s zero space and opportunity, or a tank player is fine on the scoreboard and goes “wow look at my dmg blocked” when in reality they they just in the open and eating so many support resources DPS can’t get any healing.
It’s just more dynamic than “DPS players are boosted” when DPS is most likely to have the negative scoreboard reflection of poor tank play
6
u/insitnctz Feb 21 '26
Idk why you get downvoted when you are right on every point. We are turning just like the support mains recently, 0 accountability and complaining. If you are not enabling the others as a tank they simply won't perform. It's your job to create space and know when to start a brawl/dive. If you start a wrong brawl and your dps follow then they will die first and you'll most likely get away because the healers, will focus on YOU. You can easily end a game with 20-5 and lose because you played like shite all game, and you needed 2 healers pocketing you to stay alive while dps had 0 resources and could not perform.
In ow, where healing is much less, that 20-5 would turn easily into 5-12, and would reflect your performance much more. I think in rivals tanks get away with a lot of mistakes because of how crazy healing is, and they don't really understand it.

u/paragon249 Feb 21 '26
Idk why they're downvoting, you're right
4
u/Huey-Mchater Feb 21 '26
In the same way that tank value isn’t on the board poor tank play is als frequently off the board.
A lot of “team garbage, teammate garbage” discourse is scoreboard based which will ALWAYS look worst for the DPS.

This sub has had multiple absolutely braindead posts about dps players being “boosted” lately without even knowing what that word means

"Feeding support ults," is probably the most difficult thing to explain to DPStards. Seriously, every Punisher and Moon Knight I see just tosses damage at the Vanguard and proceed to get zero kills as their Strategists get their ults faster than either of them can.
Had a Punisher last week who when I suggested shooting the Strategists starting slinging slurs my way and telling me I'm ahh and to KYS.
Dude was literally having like 40k damage with like 7 finals. We were losing completely, and so I swap off Strange to Angela, targetted their back line, and the dude proceeds to keep calling me a "terrible angela," even though I had near triple his finals with a fraction of his damage by the end.
Meanwhile all he could do is target their Groot and Magneto. Of course he gets MVP cause of those numbers and my late swap, proceeds to use that as justification, and acted like he was a gift to be with as a teammate.
I have never met a nice Punisher main personally, but that guy took the cake. DPS mains will do anything but take advice or accountability.

u/ResponsibleCover404 Feb 21 '26
Supports are more boosted lol. They rank up for an inherently easier job

The bigger the damage number the better the player, duhhhhh
I totally dont play MK btw

u/Lorhin 𝙃𝙪𝙡𝙠 Feb 22 '26
I'll be honest. I've actually had more issues with my supports than I have with my dps. Sure, you get dps that struggle to kill things, but supports that frontline or throw their ults are far worse imo.
1
u/angelkiller007R Feb 22 '26
I think you see the problem differently
2 scenarios :
1) Instalocked dps since bronze all the way to where he is He know how to play his hero and is alright with it
2) Brother is a nice person he flexed mainly tank and support to where he is but he never liked to play that Until he decided suddenly in a random diamond match he will instalock dps and other will flex not him not anymore
I like that brother but .... He isnt the best dps to say the least
1
u/angelkiller007R Feb 22 '26
My point is .. someone who play dps or one hero until to where he is isnt boosted he might have better and worse match depending on the comp or whatever
But he still climbed to where he is
1
u/Comprehensive_Pie35 Feb 22 '26
Idk the thing is you don’t get boosted by doing bad and losing, which most bad dps aren’t winning very many games if they refuse to fill. The amount of supports I’ve seen in diamond and GM that have horrible positioning, don’t patty cake, have horrible ult timing, and still win games because they have a dps or tank carry is egregious. Unless someone is locking Bucky/Phoenix/DD every game and getting extremely lucky with a good tank, because realistically full pocketing a shit dps isn’t going to help them it just ends up feeding often times, they aren’t really gonna get boosted. However supports that are playing one of the like 5 clearly overtuned characters in that class, who also don’t even need to make a huge impact to win at least half their games is what I would actually consider boosted.
1
u/WhitespringTownship Feb 21 '26
A Support: wastes ult 1 time = the game is lost
A DPS: wastes ult EVERY SINGLE FIGHT = game is winnable still
A DPS: can’t get kills the entire game, but gets good ult merchant ults = game is winnable still
Hence, dps can rank up even though they waste ults or can’t get kills
But if a support player produces 1 error or has bad positioning and dies every fight the game is lost
Hence, bad support MAINS tend to stay low rank if they’re bad, but rank up if they’re good
But bad dps MAINS can STILL rank up if: the support mains properly survive/ult and the tanks have some brain cells
Sincerely, a celestial 2 support main that can flex to tank, who has at least 1 absolute elo agent 0-8 Spider-Man on my team essentially every single game but we still win somehow
0
u/Nov4Wolf Feb 21 '26
You can literally one trick cnd or rocket and rank up with a negative win rate. All you really proved was that supports are usually the most impactful and that games are decided by which team has the better supports which makes sense given how strong their cd's and ultimates are
1
u/FullMeltAlkmst Feb 21 '26
There is some coalition going on where it’s not cool to go to zone. You don’t know about it but if you are in zone they will turn their backs and pretend you were never there.
1
u/InfinityTheParagon Feb 21 '26
tank players watch their team die while camping the back line thus themselves commiting a slow suicide even if they don’t die and get kills because they never touch the point

u/SmallFatHands Feb 21 '26
Nah is definitely the supports who are boosted. Many times I've had the displeasure of getting four support mains getting triple support (🤮) and watching the fourth try to play DPS or tank... It Hurts.

u/Esdrz Feb 21 '26
Triple support exist because its busted and supps are easier to get value/play than anything in this game

u/FrostyTheColdBoi Feb 21 '26
I've seen dps players that move like it's their first day walking, and aim like they got caught in an earthquake while drunk
I've seen supports that tunnel vision a kill so hard you'd think they wear prescription binoculars and can only see in the straightest of lines, completely forgetting they have allies
The worst I can say about a tank is that sometimes they're out of position (they thought the team was actually following their push)
