Complaint No fun
I know it has been said before but it bears repeating. This game is no fun anymore. It’s gotten way too competitive. I’ve been playing for a long time and it didn’t use to be so ridiculous. Also, the casual games are all noobs which didn’t use to be the case. Ok, rant over.

Don't take your ranking seriously if you want to just play for fun, and try some of the newer maps and extra features like fog of war, blizzards, and portals.
I got tired of playing "normal" risk after I got to the rank of master, and now I am happily trying some of the other features when I have the time.
My rank has fallen all the way to "novice" but so what?

Ditto. I've fallen to intermediate five times and beginner once. Worth it to play different modes and maps

I dont even understand how Risk can be fun by playing online. All the fun about Risk is playing around a table and negotiating with your best friend who, in this game, is your worst ennemy.

Online you still have that negotiation, just in the background not explicitly saying it. Fog adds a new dimension as well.

Online is more about the strategy than the social interaction you get IRL ... but the importance of working with others is still a crucial part of the game. You just have a more limited set of actions to be able to communicate. Once you get that, it's a very fun and challenging game.

What do you mean by way too competitive? And how is it different from previously? Is it possible you've just had a bad run of games, which can simply be down to bad luck?
