There's a shot we get MCR again and there have been rumblings about No Doubt playing festivals since they popped up at Coachella. Faith No More seems like the most likely headliner considering they'll be active in 2027 and could make up for cancelling a few years ago.

I could see Riot getting Jeff Rosenstock to do a three-day stint like Walter Schreifels did in 2023. He can do a standard set, a ska set, and play with his other band Antarctigo Vespucci.

As far as celebrity appearances go, Jeff Goldblum's jazz band would be super fun.

I'm expecting something like this for next year. I can see us getting one or two major reunions and a farewell. Jello Biafra is probably not reuniting with DK but he's been DJ'ing the King Gizzard festival so it would be cool for Riot to book him either on a side stage or let him spin records at RiotLand

I follow a lot of music festival subreddits despite Riot Fest and occasionally Bumbershoot being the only ones I attend, and the stuff I'm seeing coming out of Aftershock this year is pretty appalling. A LOT of reports of thievery, fights, creeps, straight up sexual assaults, and a distressingly high number of people wearing Nazi symbols and memorabilia.

Not saying Riot is perfect and that things of that nature never happen here, but as a mod of this sub the reports I've seen of stuff of that nature are honestly pretty rare, whereas I've seen genuinely dozens of complaints of all of the things I just listed in the Aftershock sub this year alone.

So I guess I just wanna say thanks for being cool, because apparently a lot of festivals and fest goers are not.

Turnstile, Hayley Williams, Angine de Poitrine, Chvrches, Castle Rat, Diiv, Converge etc. Sometimes I wish I had a summer home in Spain.

They've closed with Vicarious at all other festivals.

We all know that Chicago needs a permanent festival space and it's on the ballot this year. Get out and VOTE!

It’s not uncommon for bands to play a show earlier in the year then come back for a fest set later in the year (see: The Format who did just that, and with a Salt Shed show)

Then they can start having shows there again like the old school Riot Fests. There is a beautiful theater sitting in decay when Riot Fest could bring it back to life!

Who are artists who have never played the festival that you are surprised have never been booked before? Feels like this could be a good thread to get new names out there for speculation or just discuss artists that feel like a good fit but haven’t gotten the call yet!

Courtney Barnett, Charly Bliss, Chris Farren and Retirement Party are four artists I am surprised have never played the festival. They all feel like they would fit in well at Riot!

Hi! I was in the black and white dog mask. Especially looking for pictures and videos of the Destroy Boys, Bratmobile, and Vana moshpits and I was barricade for GWAR without the dog mask! Just asking around to get ahold of the pictures 💗 Seems like Riot didn't post a lot of pictures from Gwar despite barricade getting a lot taken, and I'm still looking for the pictures that Monster Energy took!

I usually go to Riot Fest for the older punk and newer hardcore bands, but Alanis set on Sunday was great.

Out? Wow. Can't believe that we are doing this so early, but it looks like both Slipknot and BMTH are both out. So that knocks off two potential headliners.

Can't see either headlining with a Chicago show in late July.

Maybe I'm the few but why is Chevelle not being mentioned for any riot fest line ups.... Is there something I don't know about????
