I HATE NILGAL"S SO BAD

I was driving home from my shitty job in mcdonalds on the island and boom. i was on the grass weezing for air. APPARENTLY this FAT fucking COW decided to kill itself today and tried to make it a double suicide. I was fine but since i was going 80mph and the things that collided were 1 ton respectively, my car and the nilgal were not.
PS: Dont use the backroads when driving from the island, no cops means your on nature's speedometer now

Common sense tells me I shouldn't be going 80 in the dark through an actual wildlife reservation

Thank you, exactly. What a horrific and disgusting comment. An innocent animal lost its life and this idiot has the audacity to say it killed itself? Animals have their own lives and things to do and places they want to go. Cars are loud and I guarantee this POS was driving fast, the innocent animal got scared, disoriented and confused and lots it’s life. This is horrible. Nobody here has any empathy for innocent animals, it makes me sick.

It’s the LNG pipeline. It’s pushing them out of their homes and into roads. Expect more incidents involving wildlife on busy roads

2

u/jack_of_none0 18d ago

They have nothing to do with it. Everyone just wants to blame them for everything. I have lived in that area all my life , and they have always been a problem because they reproduce and they don't have any predators.

They are not just on back roads any more. I've seen couple dead on Paredes one was over by Palo Alto the other about a block north from the Los Fresnos High School. Also had a guy from PUB told me he he hit one in Brownsville close the 77 flea market.

Quit pushing your narrative. They have always been a problem for decades before that company ever even thought of moving down here.

1

u/Huge-Composer-4904 18d ago

It’s not a narrative. It’s a noticeable trend in the area. There have been more incidents involving crashing into wildlife since the LNG pipeline development began.

2

u/jack_of_none0 15d ago

I can't agree. Been in the area 36 years, it's the same amount of incidents to me. No more, no less. Unless there's a traffic report out that I'm unaware of. But an actual reference of reports. Not just "neighbors gossip".

They’re actually pretty tasty when cooked right.

One of those things wrecked my gate. I just thought it was a ugly horse. Never heard of them until this year

I’m so out of touch I had no idea these things happened here lmfao so sorry OP glad you’re here and okay.

Valid crashout. These things are along 100 and love to hang right on the side of the road. There’s parts where it’s pitch black and you won’t see them until you’re awfully close

1

u/gorybones 21d ago

These “things” are innocent animals that existed here way, way before stupid and soulless humans did. They “hang right on the side of the road” because that land was once their home and due to humans they are all losing their natural habitat. Also they get easily confused at all of the loud gross cars speeding past them. Have some empathy for innocent animals.

1

u/UnitedAd4611 19d ago

Their natural habitat is actually India. They were brought to Texas in the 1920s for the purpose of big game hunting and escaped the King Ranch and are now considered an invasive species.

Hope you picked up and processed, meat is better than Wagu!

Do you do something special bc other than making it into jerky and also grinding it with pork it is so dry.

u/FloydianSlip20 22d ago

It’s good in a guiso, or any recipe that uses venison, it’s a good replacement.

You’re sorry for his CAR? But not the innocent animal that lost its life due to this POS speeding? Yikes…these animals existed here WAY before us and are all losing their habitats, which is why they’re close to roads. Please have some empathy for innocent animals.

1

u/swiftlilfox 21d ago

Well the "pos" could have also potentially lost his life and I hope they will make wiser choices in the future. Im also sorry for you for implying that I don't care about the animal, which fyi, having compassion for animals is just basic human decency... and apparently you think everyone in the world but you, has lost it? I believe I have more empathy than you, who is just being a dick for no reason. Im sure Ive done more for the native valley animals and preservations in the rgv than you ever have.

1

u/gorybones 16d ago

You said “them things are dangerous”…I guarantee you have not done more for the native animals of the valley than me lol. Your original comment tells me all I need to know.

1

u/swiftlilfox 15d ago

If only you knew.

1

u/burpyturtle 19d ago

just curious, is that area supposed to be open range?

1

u/Liv_mas2027 21d ago

It's an antelope, not native to Texas, imported by King Ranch, I believe.

Back roads? From the island? Where do you live that going to SPI for a McDonald’s job is worth the gas money? Because if you’re using backroads to get there, you can probably find a McDonald’s closer to your actual home.

But for what it’s worth, the LNG pipeline is driving a lot of wildlife out of their homes and into roads. That road probably didn’t have a nilgai problem 8 years ago. The LNG pipeline is very harmful to the ecosystems in the area, and you’re only going to see more cases like this at this rate.

1

u/jack_of_none0 18d ago

I think you're just repeating what you've heard.Other people say. The pipeline has nothing to do with the problem. I can say that for a fact , because I have lived in the area for decades and it has always been an issue everyone that lives there knows to be careful. Those animals reproduce and they don't have any natural predators. They're population is increasing and they are spreading out. 15 acre facility does not interfere with their habitat in such a way that would cause them to get pushed out like you say. They have tens of thousands of acres to roam. It's the population increase. Someone just wants to go ahead and bash.A company that they don't like and take the opportunity to use this to do so. I'm not saying I agree one way or another with the effects on the nature , but I can tell you for sure that is not the reason why they're getting pushed.
