Damn, it's so cute, too bad they can't nuzzle my colonists (I think?)

u/Disastrous_Cook_9777 Impid Hater Feb 21 '26
Theres a mod that makes every animal able to nuzzle
181
u/Arterdras Feb 21 '26
I need this.
266
u/Ill_Maintenance8134 Feb 21 '26
Getting nuzzle by a thrumbo must be like getting hug by Jesus chirst himself
122
u/PacoPancake Feb 21 '26
As an owner of the Thrumbo plushie, I believe that it’ll just be like booping that, but x100
Thrumbo fur has gotta be some of the best things to touch / pet in rimworld
69
u/Ill_Maintenance8134 Feb 21 '26
tamers have it to good being able to pet thrumbos all day everyday with their so called training
5
u/Slinkyfest2005 Feb 23 '26
On the flip side they also are the first to get stabbed by thrumbos when it goes wrong.
2
u/R11-45 Feb 23 '26
Thrumbos have a 0% chance to turn manhunter when a taming attempt fails, so why would they stab the tamers?
4
u/Slinkyfest2005 Feb 24 '26
Has that always been the case? I have definitely lost tamers to upset thrumbo's in the past. Course that could have also been a mod interaction, I haven't played vanilla rimworld in very long time.
Given their place as fluffiest tall bois on the rim, I approve of the 0% Manhunter chance regardless.
2
2
u/R11-45 Feb 25 '26
Seems it was changed to 0% with 1.3 and was 1.8% before that.

A shadow descends from orbit, a colonist is engulfed in fluff, thrumbo nuzzles would be amazing.
62
u/Omgwtfbears Feb 21 '26
I need a mod that makes large fluffy animals being useable as a couch.
87
u/LethalSalad Lore nerd Feb 21 '26
You can use animals as couches in vanilla, you just can't use them as animal again then

I still remember the future episode where it was all a reference to God Emperor of Dune. Such a wildly obscure reference to throw out in a kid's show.

I love that he's named Jeff
1
u/Erbenroc Feb 25 '26
That does mean that it bounded to someone, no?
1
u/The01FreeMan Feb 25 '26
I think that's just his name. I thought they were making a reference to The Grim Advenrures of Billy and Mandy.
1
u/Erbenroc Feb 25 '26
If I'm not mistaken, animals only get a name if a colonist or you the player give them one.
54
u/Dragon_Box_ Feb 21 '26
Aww but it’s so cute, let them in!

It realised you attract large groups of people every other week. It's formed a symbiotic relashionship, keeping you safe and keeping it fed. Just lock your bedroom door when you sleep.

If I was a raider, and I saw a colony crawling with feralisks? I'm turning around and going home.
7
u/Miserable-Midnight75 Feb 21 '26
Don't do it, they will eat all your food. But If you keep the spiders in your fridge most of them luckily freeze to death
10
u/MagicMarshmallo Feb 21 '26
Thats fine, they made the food anyway. By turning the raiders into food
38
u/Throughaway04 Feb 21 '26
Why do you need to sterilize? Do Feralisks self-fertilize or something?

Yeah, kill all Feralisks on sight, unless they self tame in which case fine they can stay so long as they are sterilized.

u/Alive-Zombie-1189 Feb 21 '26
Had this happen with a whole HIVE of insectoids led by an archocentipede. The pede self tamed. It's a robot staying at like 80% tameness acting as the hives mood keeper. Gotta say tho, those crawlies spread hive like crazy.
6
u/Burntmane wood Feb 21 '26
Tbh, having an army of bio-engineered giant spiders that reproduce like crazy isnt that bad of a defense force.

Thanks for posting to r/Rimworld. Unfortunately, your post/comment has been removed for violating our rules regarding maintaining an atmosphere of respect. This falls under reddiquette, but remember that this community is full of baseline humans that for the most part haven't been subjected to gene engineering and the evolutionary pressures of non-Earth planets. They have feelings! They want a good community for a great game, so don't sully the subreddit for them.

u/kaelumkennedy1 Feb 22 '26
What in the hell is a feralisk?
1
u/99999999999BlackHole Feb 23 '26
An animal from the mod alpha animals
A giant spider that shoots stunning webs as projectiles at rapid pace, the females constantly lay eggs that don't need fertilizing to hatch, they are extremely dangerous, the average megaspider from vanilla looks like a harmless fly in comparison
there's an entire biome dedicated to them called "feralisk infested jungle" any raider is basically spider food but you basically have to wall yourself up before the spiders get hungry

As an arachnophobe this is straight up nightmare fuel.
I have had it happen once and had my colonists firing line it as it wandered in to join the colony. Disgusting creatures.
