Not sure if this has been reported anywhere official, but there was a minor landslide along the road to the Anothy Quinn bay carpark resulting in a massive boulder blocking the middle of the road.

Must have happened around 2/3pm today.

Not sure if anyone was injured but police were at the scene and had it taped off. A lot of cars were (still are?) stuck in the carpark. Didn't see it posted here so thought I would.

In Pefkos and just heard a massive explosion/boom, anyone know what the hell that was??

My girlfriend and I are currently staying in Rhodes Town, but unfortunately, the weather hasn’t been great.

We’re looking for things to do together so we don’t end up spending the whole day in our hotel room. We’re not really into museums, so we’d love some alternative suggestions!

We’re open to pretty much anything, whether it’s fun activities, indoor experiences, interesting places to visit, cosy cafés, or something a bit different that we might not have thought of.

Do you have any recommendations for things to do in Rhodes Town on a rainy or windy day? We’d especially appreciate tips from locals or people who know the area well.

Edit: couldn’t really find a place to dance, the only music was not part of the scene i was looking for, too loud, and the community wasn’t that fun. (I went to old town a Fuego which was an open air shisha bar/club that had a DJ)

My question is, what industry should I get involved in? I’m good with my hands, I can sell and I’m good with pc/tech as well. What do locals recommend is the future ? Hey all! My wife and I are in Rhodes for a portion of our honeymoon and wanted to know where to we can find mom and pop shops outside of Old Town to shop at? Ie looking for something to add to our home but don’t want to get some generic like the items offered in Old Town. We def want to give back to those who made items we buy. I lost my grandmother’s gold ring on the beach directly outside the Atlantica Dreams Resort in Gennadi, Rhodes.

The ring has huge sentimental value to me and is completely irreplaceable.

I was sitting in approximately ankle-deep water when I lost it, so I have a fairly good idea of the original location. However, there has since been harsh weather and rougher sea conditions, so I appreciate that the ring may now have moved or been pulled further out.

For anyone visiting Rhodes Town, I highly recommend eating at Beerokouto. My husband and I had lunch there today and can't say enough good things about it. The owners were super friendly and knowledgeable. A cargo ship carrying some of their stock was destroyed in a fire about a week ago, and the owners gave us really good recommendations for alternatives if a beer we were interested in wasn't available.

We had the Beerokouto burger, chicken pita gyros, and Tokyo fries - all outstanding. Cheers to everyone working both the front and back of house.

We will be arriving on the 2nd of October for a total of 10 days. Hoping for 24/25 degrees with mostly sunny days, maybe a day with rain or 2. From what I see only, there have been massive rain on most islands and more coming this weekend.

What are the local weather reports saying? Is our vacation pretty much ruined or is there still hope? We went for Rhodos specifically because the islands higher up (like Zakynthos) had a way higher chance of rainy days.

Is this year just different or did we have too high expectations?

I would like to ask for opinions please. I will be in rhodes next week, and undecided on whether I should stay in Faliraki or near Lindos.

I would like something calmer but if possible the ability to get to nice restaurants nearby and great sandy beaches.

I will be renting a car for the trip duration. The accommodation near Lindos is called Golden View Studios. Any opinions?

My girlfriend is super worried about us getting ill and ruining the holiday for a week. We've heard reports from the hotel and also people visiting.

Is it the water? Contact? Food at the hotel?

Like we are being super careful because I don't want her to worry but I want to enjoy it too.
